Climbed up Arthur’s Seat n it was pretty glorious! First thing in the morning we had it almost entirely to ourselves. On the route back down we starting chasing each other through a seemingly endless sea of yellow gorse, laughing and out of breath. Then we headed back to the city and it was a little bit like we woke up suddenly from a shared dream, within minutes we were amongst people and cars and coffee shops again

the jury was random people in virginia who were not sequestered and could see all the anti-AH propaganda online on top of seeing his multitude of fans outside the courtroom every day. their identities are going to be sealed for only a year (which SHE asked for because no one else fucking cared), and I doubt the most hardcore of his fans will have forgotten about this within a year. the judge also allowed his team to block evidence like the fact that 7/8 medical professionals wrote in their notes that she’d told them she was a victim of abuse. the list goes on

Powerful men can do this.

Amidst the chaos of moving from uni, my apartment, back home, etc, I've lost my Intellectual Property and Environmental law textbooks.

20,000 words of notes and drafting later I have finally conquered my latest essay! I’ve titled it ‘The Transideological Politics of Irony: Disrupting Historiographical Metanarratives in Morrison, Rushdie and Hatoum’, but who knows what I have actually argued at this point :’–)

4 February 2019 | I haven’t been out of the house as much lately because my husband is hunkering down in preparation for Step 1, but today he’s in class for a few hours so I took the opportunity to pop into a coffee shop and work through some church history lectures. I feel much more driven to get my proper work done this semester, which is a huge relief. Last semester I always wanted to read “something else”—even when I hugely enjoyed what I was supposed to be reading. Praying I keep this same natural motivation as the semester progresses!

I have my second ski race of the season this weekend and I’m very excited!

This weekend has just been me trying to Gas Myself Up for the upcoming week which is when my scarier midterms are and trying to cram in all the work I normally do over the weekend during the week so I can leave for retreat worry-free! Send prayers /:
