So, I’m sure you’ve had it, that feeling that you simply cannot do anything, you’re exhausted, and looking at another darn sentence is going to make your head explode. The dreaded study burnout - I’ve been there. How do you deal with burnout you may ask? Well, you stop studying and look. after. your. self!
So, here’s a list of little self-care ideas for the exhausted students’ soul:
listen to your favourite album
Take a bath and put extra bubble bath in. Don’t have a bathtub? Have a nice long hot shower!
Re-watch your favourite episode of a TV show on Netflix - I personally prefer Brooklyn nine-nine or parks and recreation.
Call up a friend that you normally don’t get to talk to or usually just text. Ask them how they are doing and get talking, no matter what it’s about.
Re-arrange your wardrobe or dresser. Organizing helps clear the mind and makes your room feel less stressful/cluttered.
Pamper yourself with body cream and give yourself a proper manicure/pedicure.
Search for Pinterest recipes for a DIY at-home facial.
Light a candle in your room.
Write in a journal about what has been going on in your life lately.
Buy yourself flowers!
Invite someone to go get coffee with you that you normally wouldn’t.
Strip your bed of all the sheets, pillow cases, and comforters. Wash and dry them with lots of dryer sheets/softener - a cosy bed guaranteed!
Go to a museum in your city (or somewhere nearby) by yourself. Allow yourself to spend as much time at one exhibit/piece as you want.
Find a library that currently has that book you’ve always wanted to read and go pick it up.
Go for a run or hop on a treadmill/elliptical - extra fun if you listen to a playlist or podcast!
Create a new playlist of all your favourite songs and load it up onto your phone or Spotify to play when you are on a commute/hanging out at home.
Make a handmade card for someone you love. Pinterest has a ton of great ideas and they don’t cost anything!
Go through your wardrobe/dresser for old clothes that you don’t wear or use anymore. Research and find somewhere to drop off the clothes to donate.
Get a massage. These can be expensive but are worth it and a once-in-awhile treat your back and neck will thank you - these are the most likely places to store stress in the body.
Prepare yourself some comfort food. Macaroni & cheese, pizza, chocolate cake or ramen!
Write down a list of the 20 things and people you are thankful for in your life right now.
Find a cool podcast to listen to! There are heaps on the ios Podcast app and also on Spotify for my android pals!
Make yourself breakfast early one morning and enjoy it in bed.
Find an event going on in your city and attend it. Scared to go alone? Invite a friend/family member/co-worker.
Look at old photos with people you love.
Go for a hike or long walk in your area - pay close attention to the sights and smells.
Play with or pet a furry friend. Don’t own one? Try visiting a shelter or even volunteering! I can confirm, pet cuddles help.
soooo, since i’m taking a break from uni, i’ve really gotten into gaming. I’ve started a twitch channel, I’ll be streaming this friday so come hang!

time blocking method
Hi all, this is werelivingarts, a new post about time management method: TIME BLOCKING! Time blocking allows you to divide your day into big blocks and helps you to complete similar tasks in one-go without any interruptions!
You can do your time blocking on:
Google Calendar (simple and easy to use)
Plan (drag your to-do list and organize them in blocks)
TickTick Premium (offer pomodoro timer)
Hope you find this helpful! ⭐️

Hey guys! For those who don’t know me, I’m Reva, and I’m from India. I am currently running this crowdfunding campaign for the NGO, Habitat for Humanity India. Habitat for Humanity is providing family essential kits (food ration and basic supplies) and hygiene kits to thousands affected by Covid-19. With the lockdown having been extended in India, it has become much harder for families in the rural areas to receive any kind of help.
It would mean a lot to me if you could help me and my country by donating to this cause! Foreign donations are absolutely accepted, and there are also tax benefits which you can receive at the end of the year!
Please reblog and signal boost this. I am privileged enough to be sitting in my home with internet and writing this but not a lot of people in my area as lucky as I am. I am doing everything in my power to help them and this is how we can do it!

so... I did it again, I had a long ass hiatus because my health went downhill real quick. I had emergency surgery last week and now things seem positive, and I really want to get back into this blog as a coping mechanism. So, that being said, please send thru some post ideas you want to see e.g. tips, lists etc. I missed you all and I am very glad to be back. xx
ORGANISATION TIPS FOR FRESHERS: THE BARE MINIMUM SO YOU CAN STRESS LESS p1/4
WHAT TO HAVE:
1. A SAFE PLACE – keep all irreplaceable/important documents like your birth certificate, a level certificates, UCAS letters in here. Ideally a concertina folder, or a folder with different sections. Mine is organised by bank stuff, ID, student finance, qualifications, tenancy, and my part time job. Keep this folder in your room and ideally keep a list of what is inside taped to the front.
2. NOTEBOOK – for lecture notes, shopping lists, any notes. At lectures, write the week number, date, module title, etc at the top. If anything requires action (e.g. you have to email someone, read something for next week) circle it, highlight it, underline it, make it clear. When you go home you can make a list of what needs to be done and when. Keep this with you at uni, and when you get home always leave it in the same place in your bag/on your desk.
3. BINDER – with plastic wallets, dividers if you want. I keep two sections: ‘to do’ and ‘to return’. When a teacher hands me homework or a bit of paper I immediately put it in ‘to do’. When I get home I check ‘to do’ and make a list, decide when to do it. When I’ve done it I immediately put it in ‘to return’. Keep this with you at uni and when you get home always leave it in the same place
4. SEMESTER PLANNER – week numbers going down, mon/tues/wed/thurs/fri/sat/sun going across. Write down deadlines, birthdays, holidays so you can see everything in one place. You might notice two deadlines in the same week. Keep on your wall.
5. WEEKLY PLANNER – print off one for each week, hours of the day going down, days of the week going across. Fill in your classes, society events, etc. Write your goal for that week (e.g. a deadline, or to begin an essay). Keep this in your notebook/binder so if you need to organise a tutorial or to meet a friend, you can quickly check when you are free.
6. FORGET PLACE – this is where I put things I can forget about. Put in stuff you look at occasionally like recipes, or old photos, or internship info you don’t want to think about right now. When I write down a list of all my assessments, I stuff it in the forget place and stop worrying. Keep this stuff in a plastic wallet/folder in your room.
for as much as studyblr may have its faults, it’s a pretty sizable online space that tells young girls that the absolute coolest thing you can do is be smart and work hard and believe in yourself and i think that’s pretty great

Today I’m doing shifts: one hour of note-taking, 10-items of sample exams where I rationalize concepts, break, then possibly note-taking again or moving onto online platforms for flashcards. What I do on my breaks is stretch my legs and/or hydrate myself.
What do you do on your study break?
