We have been working on the news app for some time now for Radikal (www.radikal.com.tr) which is one of the biggest news corporations in Turkey and has around one million unique users per day on the web.

We WON again FWA Mobile of the day!

Thanks to our friends at FWA for selecting. 

Cem Altınsaray was recommending movies everyday for a while with the hashtag #hergünbirfilm on Twitter. Now these recommendations are gathered in one perfect application: hergunbirfilm.

The application was downloaded by 2500 users within a day, yeay! There has been 12000 downloads so far and counting while we're typing this:)

Studio Nord is seeking Android developers to join our small, collaborative team responsible for the development of our Android applications and the long-term vision of Studio Nord on mobile devices.

We have received Mobile of the Day award from the FWA with our lovely radio app Tunebow. 

ABOUT THE PROJECT 

Türkiyenin Mutluluğu is a game for the major Turkish food manufacturer Ülker's favourite snack, "Ülker Çikolatalı Gofret". Let the finger battle begin!

OUR ROLE

In collaboration with Manajans/JWT, we have developed a real-time multiplayer game for Ulker, which is one of the biggest food&beverage companies in Turkey. We were responsible for doing the technical development and the execution as well as creating the game logic.

CHALLENGE 

The main challenge in this project was getting both iOS and Facebook applications to work together with the exact same game dynamics. In addition, we were expecting a high amount of usage in a short period of time; therefore, our backend had to be rock-solid, scalable, fast and secure.

SOLUTION

Our motivation was to deliver the best gaming experience for the players using both Flash and iOS clients. 

To make this possible, we have worked on the controls of both clients to make them equivalent to each other and we have build the whole game logic on the server to maintain the same gameplay on both platforms.

Further more, we have developed both applications in their native languages to gain performance and stability on both ends. The Flash platform allowed us to quickly develop the Facebook client which we later ported to the iOS platform. On the backend, we decided to use Electrotank’s Electroserver for real-time multiplayer communication and Parse as our main data storage for its fast and scalable architecture.

HIGHLIGHTS

More than 7 million turns of the game were played on all platforms in its first month and our servers received more than 2 million requests in a day.

Don't really know how the first blog post should be but this will be about the last week for sure.

After sleepless nights we have released 3 projects in a row (and also a fully automated farm, a chicken & egg factory and an elevator in Minecraft).

Lufthansa FlyVenture (the toughest one)

We created an alternate reality game based on social media quests for Lufthansa Turkey. Every week we have various prizes (mostly iPads) for the top users of the week aand a big prize for the overall top user!
