We have eight eagle talons which were excavated at the famous Neanderthal site called Krapina, in Croatia. Recent re-examination of the talons suggest they were strung together to make a necklace. If this is true, the talons are the earliest known symbolic Neanderthal artifact, dating to 130,000 years ago. That’s about 50,000 to 80,000 years before Homo Sapiens arrived in the area.

Tower of Saint Mary was built by King Koloman in early 12th century. It conatians inscriptions with his name and year 1102 when he entered Zadar.
