what makes endgame steve hurt more (to me at least) is that infinity war steve was so good. he was a fugitive to the law that hunted down terrorist organizations with his friends/family who wore a grungy black uniform and knuckle gloves and grew his hair out and said things like “I’m not asking for forgiveness and i’m way past asking for permission”. he seemed happy for the first time since he woke up from the ice, surrounded by the people he loved and choosing his own path instead of having others decide for him. he was steve rogers for the first time in over a decade, rather than captain america. we only got six minutes of him, but he’s truly my favorite and most beloved. it was such a drastic change from that steve to endgame steve, and one I have yet to come to terms with 

just thinking about the Avengers helping to set Bucky up on dates just to fuck with Steve and Steve IMMEDIATELY turning into the Saltiest Bitch about every single prospective guy
