Sunghoon knows he shouldn’t be roaming around the woods, especially after the findings of a vampire attack in a nearby town. But it’s the only way he’s able to find peace in the midst of all the chaos.

No one dared to enter deep into the woods beside him so he was surprised running into someone, you, sitting peacefully on a boulder admiring the sunset.

Naturally he was curious about you but he knew better to get involved with unknown things and people especially in the woods by himself.

So when he turned his heel to walk away, he stepped on a branch causing it to crunch under his foot.

You quickly whipped your head around to the sound and Sunghoon doesn’t know what came over him but the way the sunset was setting behind you, his heart skipped a beat.

As your eyes trailed over Sunghoon, you felt an instant urge but you forced it back down, hating how that side badly wanted to showcase itself.

You knew who Sunghoon was, the times where you would sneak into the town you would always hear some type of talk about him but you never expected to meet him out here.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt” Sunghoon quickly said shifting his gaze away but you never took your eyes off of him

He felt your intense gaze on him and his heart pounded, he tried to remain calm but he’s read of these stories when reading the newspapers.

This is exactly how it happens in the attacks and he was scared that he just walked himself straight into a vampire’s trap.

He nervously gulped waiting for any response to make sure that he didn’t just sign up to meet his end and you realized that you were staring at him.

“Sorry didn’t mean to stare, you just startled me” You mumbled before finally peeling your eyes off of him to the ground which didn’t go unnoticed

Sunghoon let out a sigh of relief knowing that you were a human being just like him. He knows to take your averted gaze as a sign to walk away and leave you alone but there was an invisible pull that dragged him to you.

“So what are you doing out here?” You looked from the ground to Sunghoon, who was awkwardly standing in the same spot you caught him in

You furrowed your eyebrows confused as to why he was talking to you, does he not know of the vampire attacks? It was dangerous to be out in the woods as a human and he was lucky enough that he only stumbled upon you and not a hunger raged vampire.

“You do know it’s dangerous to be this far out right?” You asked and Sunghoon hummed, nodding his head

You were taken back by his response and you raised an eyebrow which Sunghoon knew meant if he knew why was he still out here, especially when nightfall was about to happen.

“You should listen to your own words too, how come you’re out here?”

“Just watching the sunset, it’s really pretty today” You shrugged not wanting to worry about Sunghoon’s careless actions, he didn’t have importance to you besides being stranger who stumbled upon you

He took a glance to the sunset but noticed how he didn’t even care for it as he was just captivated by you and he’s only just met you.

“You know staring is a bad habit right?” You pointed out feeling his gaze on you again

You didn’t expect him to know about your secret. There wasn’t any way that he could possibly know, you tried your best to hide it, ashamed and regretful of what you’ve become.

But you felt so seen by Sunghoon like he was looking past your facade to examine your soul to see you, the real you.

You wiped your lips with your hand to get rid of any remaining residue as you made your way to the boulder to watch the sunset like always. You jumped seeing Sunghoon waiting against the boulder.

He heard your footsteps and immediately pushed himself off and straightened out his posture. You raised an eyebrow as you looked at him.

“Hi?” Your voice was questioning

Sunghoon knew how weird it looked, especially after not seeing you for over a week. But he couldn’t get you out of his mind no matter how hard he tried, you played like a broken record with no end.

Every time he tried to sleep all he did was dream about a life with you in it and he had no idea why but he did know that he had to see you again.

“Hi” He softly responded and you awkwardly went on top of the boulder, taking a few glances every now and then to see him staring at you

“Told you staring was a bad habit” You pointed out and he quickly cleared his throat

“I was just walking by and was just coming through, decided to a take a little break before continuing” Sunghoon lied and you could see right through it, you softly chuckled to yourself and nodded your head

“And what brought you back to this specific spot?” You asked turning around to look at him but the way he looked at you made your still heart drop

“Just wanted to admire the view” Sunghoon’s gaze never left you and you slightly frowned before looking away to ignore the crawling thoughts in your mind

But you gave in. You gave a hand out from behind your back to Sunghoon and he looked between your hand and you in shock.

You still didn’t face him but you shook your hand towards him.

“You said you wanted to admire the view, believe me it’s better up here” You looked over your shoulder and Sunghoon felt a harsh thump against his chest

He softly grasped onto your hand and it felt like electricity shocked through you both. You quickly pulled your hand away causing Sunghoon to lose his balance. He gasped loudly and closed his eyes ready to feel the impact of the ground.

But he quickly opened his eyes when he felt a harsh pull against his arm, you were grabbing on his arm as you looked to him with a worried expression.

He panted heavily as his heart was racing from adrenaline, not thinking about you were able to hold onto him with ease nor the coldness of your touch against his skin. You pulled Sunghoon onto the boulder with you and you could see the daze that he was in.

Your gaze landed on his neck and you gulped harshly trying to peer your gaze away from it but it was hard. But when you finally did you nibbled on your lips afraid he figured out what you wer. But instead he looked at you and gave a thumbs up.

“Thank you for catching me, I didn’t feel like falling today” You blinked at him in disbelief as he simply admired the sunset “You were right, it’s way better up here” Sunghoon turned to you with a soft smile and you couldn’t help but return it

“You’re amazing Sunghoon” You scoffed before shaking your head and he tilted his head

“You know my name?”

“How could I not? Everytime I go into the town I always hear something about the town’s beloved Park Sunghoon” You gestured with your hands and he chuckled

“So you think I’m lovely?” You whipped your head towards him as you saw his cheeky smile and you rolled your eyes “I should’ve let you fallen” You mumbled but he still heard it and gave a gasp acting offended

“How come I haven’t seen you around then?” You froze for a second before regaining your composure before shrugging your shoulders

“Guess you didn’t look hard enough”

Sunghoon chuckled at your remark, amused by it. There was something about you that he couldn’t explain that drew him in.

“I don’t actually live in the town. I tend to just visit every now and then” You explained which caught Sunghoon’s interest and you noticed

“I live… Uh here in the woods”

“You live out here? What about the vampire sitings? Isn’t it dangerous?” You could hear the tone of concern from him and you wondered when was the last time someone was worried over you

But you knew not to take it to heart, he was just saying that because he assumed that you were one of him, a human.

“They don’t necessarily interrupt me” You tried to be mindful of your words but before he could question anymore you stood up

“I think we should start leaving, the sun is coming down and it’s not ideal to be out here so late” You got down from the boulder easily, forgetting that Sunghoon couldn’t follow after you

“Uh, how did you get down from here?” You turned to Sunghoon still standing on top of the boulder and you smirked before answering

“Jump”

Now you didn’t actually anticipate for Sunghoon to actually jump but when he did, you could feel the impact on his feet on your own and you hissed quietly.

“I didn’t mean to literally jump!” You loudly said but he was crouched down with his head hung lower as he waved you off

He repeated to himself that he was fine, but you and him both knew that he was far from it. But before you could ask if he needed help, you heard distant howling.

You snapped your head around the area only to just see trees and bushes blocking your view. You cursed under your breath realizing that you spent far too much time out here with Sunghoon.

You looked to Sunghoon who didn’t look like he was planning on moving any time soon.

“Hey Sunghoon, you should really get going… It’s not safe to be out here” You tried to usher him up from his crouched position but he only moved his head up to look at you

“But how can I make sure you get home safely if I leave now?”Your stared at him seeing pure genuine in his eyes and you felt a shiver run up your spine

Another distant howl snapped you out of your daze realizing your secret would be revealed sooner or later. You sighed heavily before grabbing his arm and harshly dragging him with you.

He gasped at the sudden pull finally realizing your undeniable strength. “Where are we going?” Sunghoon asked noticing how you were guiding him somewhere

“My place”

You let go of the window shades groaning as you began to pace back and forth. You couldn’t believe that you brought Sunghoon, a human into where you live.

You told yourself that you had no other choice, you didn’t need it on your conscious if you read about another vampire attack in the forest.

Sunghoon on the other hand looked around where you lived, it was rather very cold and simple than what he expected but when he heard your groan, he turned his attention onto you seeing you pace back and forth.

He could feel your anxiousness in himself as you sat on a chair and rested your head into your arms. Sunghoon froze for a moment not knowing what to do.

You kept your head buried in your arms, hoping the loud thoughts in your head would leave you alone. The same the familiar aching in your mouth started again and you became even more nervous.

You didn’t want to do something you know you would deeply regret.

As you were in deep thought to control yourself, you felt a faint touch on your head. You looked up confusingly to see Sunghoon crouching before acting out like he was going up the stairs.

You stared at him in shock seeing how he pretended bumping into a door on the top of the stairs and rubbed his head from the impact before opening the door and turning to you with a smile and wave.

Sunghoon didn’t like to see you upset (he didn’t know why it bothered him so much) but he wanted to make you smile.

But as he placed his hands around like he was stuck in a box. Sunghoon was desperately trying to get out of the box but soon gave up and sighed heavily. He gave a slight frown to you before bringing his hands to his ears and slightly pulling on them which caused him to stick out his tongue.

You finally scoffed out a smile and Sunghoon felt pride feel his chest but his finger let go of his ears before having his hands slowly fall as he stared at you smiling.

“Fangs” The mere mention of the word caused you to slap a hand over your mouth

“You have fangs” Sunghoon was stating rather than questioning “You’re a vampire”

Before you could even explain there was clatter heard from another room inside your place and you knew exactly what it meant.

“Sunghoon stay here. I promise I’ll explain everything but please just stay here” You pleaded before rushing out of the chair causing it to fall to where the noise

Sunghoon was left behind to gather his thoughts. He stared at the fallen chair, he couldn’t believe it he was associated with a vampire this time.

And now you brought him to your house for who knows what. And the thought that feared him the most, were you the one responsible for all the vampire attacks?

He felt his heart drop as his chest rose with each pant of realization but what brought him back was the sound of another person’s voice along with yours.

He knows you told him to stay but his body had a mind of its own as he walked quietly to where the voices were trying not to get caught by you and the other person.

“Is that a human I smell?” You glared at the person making a mess in the room

This was the very person you were trying to look out for and you were already annoyed that he snuck into your place again, but this was the only time that he was able to come out.

“Oh boss is going to be so happy that you’re finally giving into your instincts” He chuckled menacingly and the mention of ‘boss’ made you twist

“What are you doing here?” You spat and he rose his hands up in innocence

“Just came by to say hi to my favorite vampire, is that so wrong?” You glared at him but he didn’t pay any mind to you “Did I interrupt your first dinner? Mind if I join you?”

He tried to walk past you to the door but you put your hand out to stop him “Don’t even think about it” You warned causing him to scoff

“You’re no fun, I’m hungry” He spat as he showed his fangs that were ready to bite

“I don’t care”

“I don’t know why boss likes you so much, you’re basically not even a real vampire” He gruff out before pushing your arm away from him harshly

“Get out of my place” You pointed to the very window that he came in from and he frowned

“Oh come on, you know I’m just joking” He smiled cheekily “You usually entertain me a little longer than this. Is it because you have a guest over?” He questioned and you quickly rushed over to him to shove him

He put his hands up in defense before backing away towards the window. The satisfaction in his still heart could only be fulfilled so much.

“By the way, pick up after your mess every time you eat. I’m getting tired reading about a vampire attack in the newspaper” Your words made him stop and look at you with a gleam in his eyes

“But I can’t help myself, the bite between my jaw is so tasty and the adrenaline takes over and you know that I have to be out before sunrise so I just don’t have enough time”

“But who am I kidding? You wouldn’t get it since you’ve never sunk your damn teeth into anyone” You visibly looked appalled by his words and looked away from his gaze to look off to the side

There mere thought of having to bite someone in order to satisfy the clawing hunger and desire in you was pushed down by the utter disgust.

“Do me and boss a favor and sink your teeth into this one”

You and Sunghoon sat face to face, your seat purposefully farther from his. Your fangs disappeared as you stared to the ground and he observed you.

“I’m sorry for having to keep you here for longer, it’s just not safe to go out there right now?” You told but that seemed to be Sunghoon’s least concern

“But being in here will be better?” He raised an eyebrow and you knew he was right

“Look Sung-“

“How come he said you’re basically not even a real vampire?” Sunghoon cut you off with his question “He said you never bitten anyone before, is that true?”

“How come you don’t disintegrate when you’re out in the sun?” All of Sunghoon’s questions came rushing towards you and your shakily let out a breath

He realized that he was bombarding you with his questions and softly apologized.

“No it’s okay, you have every reason to ask questions”

You sighed rubbing your temple at the mere thought of him, “Don’t listen to his words, he’s just bitter. Yes I am a vampire, but I’m not like the others”

“Unlike him, I can go out during the daytime while he can only come out at night” You explained

“Why is that?” Sunghoon’s words made you shrug your shoulders

“I don’t know either” Afterall it all came down to the ‘boss’ that turned you into a vampire in the first place

You could see his hesitance before he swallowed “What about… You not biting anyone. Is that true?” You nodded your head quickly

“That’s why he said I’m basically not a vampire, I never bitten anyone nor will I ever” There was a silence, he was trying to see if you were lying

“Why? Don’t you have an urge to bite a human?”

“Sometimes it happens, that’s something out of my control but the idea of having to sink my teeth into someone in order for me to survive pushes all that away” Sunghoon was shocked in hearing this, he never expected for a vampire not wanting to sink their teeth into anyone

“Is that why you never bit me?” You nodded your head at his question and you could see a slight relief wash over him

“And you promise to never bite me?” You furrowed your eyebrows as Sunghoon scoffed his seat closer to you

“Wha-“ As he was right in front of you, your breath got caught in your throat as he stared into your eyes

Sunghoon stuck out his pinky towards you and you looked at him with wide eyes. He ushered for you to link your pinky with his. “Promise to never bite me”

“Why do you still want to be associated with me?” You softly asked as his face was right in front of yours and he gave warm smile

“Just because” Sunghoon himself didn’t even know why he wanted to stay close to you, he would’ve run the other way and not look back if it was someone else

But it was you, so he decided to stay.

You looked to his pinky still waiting to be linked with yours. Your gulped harshly before intertwining your pinky with his. Sunghoon smiled at your action before tightening his pinky around yours.

“Cross your heart” He told and you raised an eyebrow at his choice of words

“Cross your still heart that you will never bite me”

Sunghoon found himself over at yours more often than not and always made sure to leave before sundown. At first, you didn’t expect to see him so often especially since you were a vampire but you got used to him.

Even though your heart was still, it wasn’t able to stop the fluttering in your stomach that you weren’t quite sure what it was but you did know it only happened whenever Sunghoon was around.

You admired the flowers Sunghoon had brought you with a soft smile “Where did you even find these?” You asked

“Town was selling them so I wanted to get some for you”

When he saw the flowers being sold, something in his mind(and his heart) yelled at him to get some for you. When he suddenly pulled the flowers from his sleeve to you, the smile you had made him realize why his heart wanted to get you it.

He loved seeing you smile and he loved it even more when he was reason behind it.

“Well they’re beautiful so thank you” You smiled before placing the flowers into a vase and placing them in the middle of the table where Sunghoon was sitting at

“I know this might seem invasive but how did you become a vampire?” You froze and you quickly heard Sunghoon rambling out an apology seeing your reaction but you waved him off

“I-I never wanted to become one. It just sort of happened…” You sighed before you turned to him. “One day I was human and then one day I wasn’t” You told and Sunghoon could see a deeper emotion in you

“You regret it, don’t you?” You smiled sadly before nodding your head

“Every single day”

Sunghoon was going to speak but you interrupted him. “You know you should be heading out soon, sundown is happening soon” You told before replacing the sad smile with a bright one and he knew you were avoiding the topic

You would tell him when you were ready and he was ready to wait as long as he needed to until you were ready. He gave a faint smile before shaking his head.

“I know. I’m just a little tired, figured I could take a nap before I leave”

The two of you knew that wasn’t the case. Sunghoon just didn’t want to leave yet, he was too engrossed in your presence to leave.

You shook your head to him before ushering him up from the seat. “No no if you stay here, I’m going to have to walk you all the way back and you know just how long the walk is” Of course Sunghoon knew how long the walk was. He did it practically everyday just to see you.

If you weren’t staring at him, you would’ve missed the slight frown on his face and this twisted something inside of you.

“Tomorrow. You can stay over tomorrow I promise Hoonie” The usage of the sudden new nickname had him whip his head towards you with wide eyes

His heart hammered against his chest as he stared at you but softly nodded his head as he could feel his cheeks warming up. You smiled to him and waved him goodbye as he walked out of your place. “Get home safely! I’ll see you tomorrow!” Sunghoon waved goodbye to you, an extra bounce to his step as he couldn’t wait

However, not even 30 minutes had passed whenyou suddenly heard a clatter from inside your place. You looked up confused still seeing the sun setting, you furrowed your eyebrows knowing it couldn’t be who usually barges into your place.

But the faint footsteps made your breathe heavy as you didn’t think about it being him, the boss. You quickly got up and ushered out of the room you were in to the noise.

You rushed over to see the flowers Sunghoon had got you knocked over and you felt a rush wash over you but suddenly you heard a noise next to you and you were quick to launch yourself towards it but stopped when you saw Sunghoon standing before you with shocked eyes.

With a sigh of relief, you felt a little more relaxed but you still sent a glare to him. “What are you doing here?!” You yelled and Sunghoon moved his gaze to the floor muttering a soft apology

“I’m sorry you just scared me is all” You sighed

“I was on my way back but I realized I couldn’t- I didn’t want to wait until tomorrow and so I came back and the door was unlocked so I thought I could come in and surprise you but accidentally knocked over the flowers in the process”

“I’m sorry” You heard his explanation before letting out yet another sigh before nodding your head

“Fine you can stay over tonight, it’s already too late for you to leave anyway” Sunghoon gleamed happily knowing that you were going to walk him back just so he didn’t have to stay over

The nickname you had called him never left his mind and with a smug smirk he looked at you and you knew he was up to no good. “So Hoonie huh?” Sunghoon was suddenly shoved away as you quickly left him alone but he was quick to follow you

It was about the reach 3 am and you could see how tired Sunghoon was. “Go get some sleep” You brought him to an untouched bed in the room

“What about you?” He turned with a nervous gulp and you chuckled and shook your head

“Don’t worry the bed is all yours. I don’t need much sleep” You tried to remind him and his mouth was quick to form an ‘O’ shape

“Right forgot” You chuckled before carefully patting his back to go inside the room but right when you were going to leave, you heard him call your name

You turned with a hum wondering what he wanted and you could see he was nervous by the way his eyes fluttered around everyone but at you.

“Stay with me”

You stayed as still as you could not wanting to wake him up. You didn’t even dare to look at him as you could feel something fluttering around in your stomach.

You’ve been staring at the wall for the 30 minutes without a single movement. You were fearful that if you turned to him, it would expose a vulnerability you didn’t even know it was possible to feel something as a vampire, but Sunghoon made the impossible happen like it was nothing.

But something gnawed in your mind and you tried to ignore but you were already turning your head to him and that’s when you knew it was far too late for you.

Sunghoon was peacefully sleeping, the faint moonlight shining through the curtains. Your hand hovered over his forehead as you pushed some hair away as you couldn’t help but fondly smile to him.

Yet, when Sunghoon groggily opened his eyes, your breath got caught in your throat and you froze. He looked up to you hazily and something turned in his heart.

Maybe he was sleep deprived or maybe he was finally allowing himself to feel what’s been in his heart ever since the beginning “You’re beautiful”

You scoffed out a chuckle and retracted your hand from his forehand. “You’re funny”

“Look at me Sunghoon”

“Aren’t you scared of me?” You asked as you turned to fully face him but instead of being met with a grimace, he looked to you like you hung the stars

“Scared of you?”

“I could never be scared of you. You’re devine, perfect, heavenly even”

You knew if your heart was still active, it would’ve been pounding against your chest. Your eyes searched for any signs of fear or lying but there was nothing but love.

Sunghoon raised his head from the pillow as he leveled with you with his lips hovering yours. “Can I kiss you?” You gulped, you shouldn’t, he was a human and you’re a vampire

But you found yourself slowly nodding your head, not trusting your words anymore as your mind became filled with just Sunghoon.

That was all he needed before carefully crashing his lips onto yours. You felt the same electric shock run through you from the first time you had contact with him.

Sunghoon adjusted himself to sit upright, his lips never detaching from yours before cupping your face with one of his hands. Your skin melted in the warmth of him and you could feel like your own body was on fire because of him.

While Sunghoon kissed you with such delicacy, he held you like you were the sole reason for his existence(you were).

The sun was setting yet again and you were trying to get Sunghoon out of your place and back to his own “Go, you’ve already stayed here all day yesterday and today. There’s no way you’re planning to stay another night” You said as he basically clung onto you like koala

“My place is boring and so far. What if the vampires get me when I’m walking back, it’ll be too dangerous” You narrowed your eyes at him as you tried to push him away

“That’s why I told you to leave earlier but you didn’t want to” You huffed out as you ushered him out the door

When he was finally outside your place he gave you a frown and you giggled before waving him goodbye.

“Aren’t you forgetting something?” You looked confused at his question but you were shocked when you felt a quick peck to your lips

“Guess I’ll always have to remind you” He smirked seeing your reaction before walking away, a hand in air to wave goodbye

You chuckled and shook your head as you made sure to watch him until he was out of sight. You closed your door with a loopy smile as you remembered Sunghoon just in general.

But you shrieked when you saw someone sitting at your table. “See that you didn’t sink your teeth into him”

“Couldn’t do it? Too in love with him already? Pathetic” He spat as the chair screeched as he abruptly got up and walked towards you, careful to avoid the sunlight coming in through the window

“It’s still sunlight outside, how did you get here?” You sneered

“I’ve been here since last night, wanted to have a quick stop but you were busy” Your glare did not affect him in the slightest “Don’t give me that look, it’s not my fault you were kissing the human”

“You should’ve left” You told as you could see how he was getting closer but you stood your ground

“Oh but what’s the fun in that? Can’t wait to see the look on boss’ face when he finds out you’re getting too friendly with a human” Your eyes went wide before grabbing his collar and pushing him against the wall

“I dare you” You darkly said but all he did was chuckle at your actions

“Don’t test me, I’ll make your world crumble right before your eyes” You knew what he meant by those words and you could feel how he tried to push you off but couldn’t

It was clear who stronger between the both of you and it definitely wasn’t him.

“Touch him or even go anywhere near him and I’ll take care of you myself” You said in a low voice and you could see his smirk growing wider and you felt sick

“Get out of my house” You shoved him off your wall and he laughed menacingly before looking to you

“It’s still daylight outside, I’ll get burn if I leave” He told but you turned your back and didn’t turn back once

“Then burn”

You failed the realize the smirk forming on his face before he took his seat at your table once again, tapping his chin as if in deep thought.

He planned staying true to his words. He was going to make your world crumble right before yours eyes.

You watched as the sun was fully setting and there was still no sign of Sunghoon. You could feel your breath heaving as you waited for his arrival but it never came.

You were going to rush out of your house to go to the town, praying that you were going to find him there safe and sound but you stopped when you heard a knock on your door.

You looked to the door before carefully prying it opening it, hoping that it was just Sunghoon being incredibly late. But right when you slightly opened the door, it was forced open and you stopped.

There stood Sunghoon held by his nape by the very person that told you to sink your teeth into him. But you were confused on how he could even bear being in the sunlight until you saw the two puncture holes on the side of his neck.

He noticed how your gaze found the bite and he laughed. “Relax boss doesn’t like me that much well… That might change but it’s temporary, I only have an hour”

“But boss believed that was more than enough time to-” He looked to Sunghoon who was wincing by the hold on his nape tightening before turning to you again. “-Take care of everything”

You searched over Sunghoon and saw he only had a few scratches but nothing too major. You only let out a small sigh of relief before thinking of every possible way to get him far away from this moment.

“You told him” You told as a statement and seeing how his smile grew impossibly wider, you knew he had told ‘boss’ of what was happening between you and Sunghoon

You were done for but you felt foolish for ever believing that you could have a happily ever after with Sunghoon.

“Let him go. He has nothing to do with this, boss wants to deal with me not him” You told as you grabbed his wrist and tightened your hold on it

You saw how he visibly flinched feeling your hold but you clenched his jaw, trying to show that he wasn’t affected by it. “He was dragged into this the moment you decided to get involved with him” He told

“You have two options. Bite him or take it up with the boss. Choice is yours” You could see how Sunghoon’s gazes flickered onto yours as he heard the word ‘bite’

Your lips shivered as you realized what needed to be done. The tears soon welling in yours eyes made Sunghoon worried about you but he was beyond words when he saw you give your wrist together to the one that held his nape.

“W-what are you doing?” Sunghoon tried to get out of the vampire’s hold but it only tightened around him and he could feel the sudden claws grazing the side of his neck

“No way! You’re giving yourself up for a human?!” The words sunk into Sunghoon’s mind and he saw how you held your head down, your wrist still together

“No. No. Don’t!” Sunghoon yelled to you as he somehow managed to escape the vampire’s grasp, pushing him to the floor to go over to you

Your eyes widen and you quickly grabbed Sunghoon’s arm before putting him behind you from the vampire in front of you. “You’re gonna regret that” He lowly spoke as he rose from the floor

“Do you really think you will win?” You spat as you saw how he visibly grew angrier by your words

It was true. The ‘boss’ who turned you and him into vampires, favorited you by a landslide for reasons unknown to you but it meant you held more strength that he could only imagine of achieving.

“Don’t think you got boss in your corner right now, he was furious to find out you fell for some human” You could feel Sunghoon flinch behind you by his words and you glared at him

You knew your words wouldn’t mean anything but it would have to do for now. “But he still gave me options, didn’t he?” You raised an eyebrow knowing if it were anyone else, ‘boss’ wouldn’t have spare a single glance and get rid of them

“And you’re foolishly taking the wrong one! Just bite him!” You shook your head before peering over your shoulder to see Sunghoon staring at you with wide eyes

“I’d rather lose myself before biting him” You declared still looking to Sunghoon before facing the vampire who only scoffed loudly

“Fine! Tell that to boss. Tell him how you’d rather lay down your pathetic life than to bite some human” He ushered for your arms that held out to protect Sunghoon

Sunghoon held your arm which caused you to look at him as he shook his neck. You could see the faint tears falling from his neck before he bared his neck to you.

“Bite me”

Your eyes widen at his words and you could hear the loud claps from the vampire watching the whole scene but you shook your head before taking his hand off your arm. “Are you crazy?!”

“Bite me” Sunghoon repeated in a serious tone and you couldn’t believe how easily he was willing to sacrifice his own mortality in order to just stay with you

“You heard him, bite him!”

Your head reeled but you detached Sunghoon’s hold off you and you saw how he looked to you with confused eyes. “I promised my still heart not to bite you” You huffed out sadly but as you tried to leave, he quickly grabbed your wrist

“Please bite me. I-I can’t live without you” Sunghoon sobbed out and you could feel your chest ache which you never knew was possible again

“I’m sorry Hoonie, I’m so sorry” You tried to hold back your own tears and pry his hand off your wrist but he didn’t budge

“Please” The way Sunghoon begged turned something in you and you swore for a sliver of a moment, you felt a thump against your chest

“He’s telling you to the bite him, so what are you waiting for. Bite him!” You whipped your head towards the vampire and glared to him which never phased him, he only smirked widely before raising his hands up

You hated how it had to come to this, you didn’t want to leave Sunghoon. He made you feel cared for, seen beyond just being a vampire, and he loved you for you.

He did it like it was breathing for him and yet, here you were, forcing yourself away from him because you couldn’t drag him down the same hole you were desperately trying to crawl out of.

“Goodnight Hoonie, I’ll meet you next life” You gave out one last warm smile before planting a soft kiss onto his tear stained cheek and like a flash, you and the vampire were out of sight

Sunghoon stumbled on his feet when you suddenly disappeared with the vampire and he felt his chest tightened up.

“No. No No” He softly repeated to himself as he looked around before searching your whole place for you but nothing

“No!” He yelled when it finally settled into his mind, he couldn’t even say goodbye to you “No” His knees gave out on him and he went crumbling to the floor

His body curled against the cold floor as his tears never stopped, he tried to hold his body in some sort of comfort but it didn’t feel the same when you weren’t here.

Instead of having your world being the one to crumble, Sunghoon’s world crumbled right before him. “Why couldn’t you just bite me?” He sobbed out

Sunghoon groggily opened his eyes and with a raging headache he winced until he felt a hand against his forehand. His eyes shot opened and there you were.

Right in front of Sunghoon, the greatest thing to ever happen to him. But he tried to get up but couldn’t, he felt like his body was being held down.

He saw how you looked at him with a soft smile as you stroked his hair. “It’s okay Hoonie” The nickname he loved to hear.

“Save me, I’m twisted” Sunghoon knew you were the only person that could save him from the darkness that engulfed him, he was falling deeper by the second

“Please” Sunghoon pleaded as the aching in his still heart took over his being, tears burned his eyes as he stared at you “Heal me” but you never said anything. You only continued to grace his hair with a faint smile.

“Why couldn’t you just bite me?”

With a loud gasp, Sunghoon woke up in a cold sweat as he stared at your ceiling. He knows he should’ve went home long ago but he hasn’t, he couldn’t. He didn’t have the courage to leave your place fearing it would leave you behind.

He wanted to wait until you came back home and be in his arms. He felt a headache rising and he groaned as he held his head as he laid in the cold bed.

As he turned his body, wishing to see you next to him again but all it was an empty space. His arm rested on the side next to him and he swore he could feel you in his arms.

His eyes puffy and heavy from all the crying he’s done and he could feel his throat tightening as he swallowed harshly, why did you have to leave him? Why couldn’t you just turn him into a vampire? He was willing to sacrifice his entire being and soul for you.

But even under all the love and longing he has for you, he couldn’t deny the undeniable anger in him. He desperately wanted to rip the part of him that was molded just to you.

He wanted to forget you, to remove the touches and kiss shared, he wanted (needed) to hate you for leaving. But he couldn’t, he never could.

Yet still, he wanted to destroy everything that had any connection to you. He just couldn’t bear to live with you etched onto his soul and mind (but he forever will).

Sunghoon wanted to take away all of you that was latched onto him which meant having to rip apart his entire existence in hopes of getting rid of the tie to you, but even then he knew deep down it would never be enough.

Your soul was tied with his. No matter how far either of you were a lingering shadow will always follow, a reminder of the other.

You were forever with him and Sunghoon hoped he was forever with you.

But as he tried to get his body up from the bed, he groaned feeling his body weak. His eyes felt heavy again and just when he was going to rest them he heard a whisper in his ear of your name.

Strength surged through him as he immediately sat up in the bed and there stood a person at the foot of the bed. His breath was heavy and he could see how the person smiled widely.

“Ah so you’re the human” The voice spoke and Sunghoon felt shivers run up his spine, he muttered out a small ‘what?’ which made the person laugh

“You’re not the only one to miss her” The voice told and he looked around the room with a heavy sigh “But I needed to do what had to be done. She knew better than to fall in love with you”

Sunghoon suddenly got up from the bed and went towards the person with rage. “How dare you speak like that”

The person raised an eyebrow to Sunghoon’s actions, impressed how he went up to him without hesitation. “Don’t meddle in things that you have no idea about human” The voice spoke amused but patted Sunghoon’s shoulder

Sunghoon shrugged off the hand before staring at the person and through the moonlight he finally got glimpse of what was in front of him and his breath got caught in his throat.

A vampire with sharper fangs than he has ever seen. Red blood eyes and razor sharp nails pointed towards him. Was this the person, the ‘boss’ he always kept hearing about?

“You have guts, I’ll give you that. You two could’ve been so perfect together” The vampire sighed before continuing. “If only she bit you” The vampire shook his head in disappointment.

“What did you do to her?” Sunghoon’s tone was harsh and the vampire was enjoying this, seeing just how perfect Sunghoon could be if he was a vampire just like you

“I saved her” The vampire easily said before walking over to the window in the room and traced the frame with his finger sharp nails. “She made her choice and I didn’t like it so I saved her instead”

The vampire could feel Sunghoon’s glare and the pure anger seething through him and he smirked to himself before turning to face Sunghoon.

“What are you willing to sacrifice?”

Sunghoon stared at him in confusion. The vampire knew that Sunghoon couldn’t possibly understand the depth of his question meant, but he wondered.

Just how far was Sunghoon willing to go just to even get a chance to see a glimpse of you again. “So? What are you willing to sacri-“

“Myself” Sunghoon interrupted, he knew his words held a heavy meaning but the held truth above all, Sunghoon was willing to give up the end of the universe just for you

The vampire laughed loudly hearing Sunghoon’s response. “Now that’s what I like to hear! Let me make you a deal. I promise you get to see her again but it’s going to cost you”

“What will it cost?” Sunghoon’s voice was hoarse and the vampire chuckled before striding towards the frozen Sunghoon and smiled menacingly

“Whatever you’re willing to give up” This sentence whispered in his ear rippled a shiver up Sunghoon’s spine

But before Sunghoon could even respond, it happened all too quickly. The puncture to his bare neck made him dizzy, his eyelids became heavy as he could feel his body changing in an instant. His warm skin suddenly feeling icy cold, a sharp aching in his teeth, and the blaring headache that soon turned into an insatiable hunger.

Sunghoon breathed heavily as he held his neck from the pain and he could see how the vampire smirked seeing his state. The vampire wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before nodding.

“You begged her to bite you and she never did. Think of this as your pleas finally being answered” The vampire spoke. “Plus, I could hear all those twisting thoughts in your head”

“You amaze me. I can see why she was willing to give up everything for you” The mention of you cleared Sunghoon’s head for at least a moment before being overwhelmed

“You’ll see her again, it’s just going to take some time” Sunghoon’s blurry vision cleared as his racing heart stilling to a complete stop.

“Now let me ask you again, what are you willing to sacrifice Park Sunghoon?”

His gaze traveled all over your room and your laughter faintly filled his ear and the feel of your lips on his made his jaw clench. He harshly swallowed down his past life in an instant to make room for his new profound fate.

Sunghoon would give up heaven if he had to for you.

“I’m willing to sacrifice everything”

You were in utter awe of him, how you love seeing Sunghoon wear his glasses.

You knew it wasn’t often when he would decide to wear his glasses so whenever he did have them on, you had to savor the moment and that’s what you did.

You couldn’t seem to take your eye off of him so you accepted your fate and stared to your boyfriend’s face without a care about the sunset he was admiring.

Sunghoon could feel your gaze on him after a while and looked to you confused on why you were staring at him.

“You should wear glasses more often” You murmured as you brought your fingers to graze over the rimless frame of his glasses

Sunghoon tilted his head teasingly before grabbing your grazing hand and planted a soft peck against it.

“You think so?”

“Oh I know so” He chuckled at your remark before capturing your lips onto his

You could feel his glasses clashing against you and you smiled warmly. Sunghoon felt your smile and he couldn’t contain his own smile he gave one last kiss on your lips before placing feathering kisses on the side of your face. His glasses softly grazing you every now and then and your giggles filled your room.

You ushered down the stairs making sure you had everything in your bag, you were running late forgetting that about the blind date your help friend set up.

She said she’d help you get into dating before all the good guys were taken and you were left all alone. But who would break it to her that you didn’t want anyone that wasn’t your old fling with your older brother’s best friend.

Even with the fallout between the two of you, deep down you still wanted him.

Just as you reached the end of the staircase, you froze seeing Heeseung sitting on your couch. Your heart dropped as you stared at him wide eyed. No matter how hard you tried to escape his presence, he was always lingering around.

But before you could even question him, you heard the nagging of your older brother as he emerged from the kitchen.

“You really have to go shopping” He sighed before taking in your dressed up appearance with a raised eyebrow

Your brother didn’t realize how his best friend drank in your appearance, but what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him.

“Are you going out on date?” You whipped your head towards your brother before sneaking a glance towards Heeseung and unnoticed by you how he clenched his hand on his lap

“What are you two even doing here?” You tried to switch the conversation as you could feel the burning gaze Heeseung gave you

“I just wanted to stop by and see how my favorite sister is doing, is that so wrong?” You rolled your eyes before checking the time on your phone, noticing how you were now very much late for your blind date

“Alright whatever, just don’t mess up anything and make sure to lock the door” You sighed in defeat, not having any time for this

You went towards your front and opened it but right before you could even step out, Heeseung’s voice rippled through you and you slightly shivered hoping neither of them noticed.

“Where are you going?” His voice seemed stern and you almost let out a laugh but held back and right before you closed the door, you answered him

“A date”

Heeseung and you accidentally became a fling last winter. It was new year’s eve and your family had decided to celebrate together outside to watch the fireworks and of course your brother dragged Heeseung along.

You didn’t mind him at the time as you and him were somewhat friends as Heeseung was the only one your brother truly felt comfortable having around you.

Having trust that his best friend would only have the best intentions and wouldn’t try anything(how wrong he was).

You only saw Heeseung whenever your brother brought him around or whenever you ended up tagging along with them and vice versa.

It was a comfortable “friendship” but nothing else of it. However, when it reached 10 seconds on the countdown, everyone was chanting down the numbers loudly and you being one of them didn’t realize you misplaced a step.

But before you could even fall, Heeseung was quick to catch you in his arms. You looked to him with wide eyes as fireworks blew up in the sky.

The fireworks behind him set something off in you that you never knew you could feel before.

“Happy new year” His soft voice and his infamous smile made your heart flutter and you knew you were in trouble

You noticed how Heeseung’s eyes flickered from between your eyes and lips as he continued to hold you in his arms. Everything around you two faded as if it was only the two of you.

You didn’t realize it but you and Heeseung unconsciously leaned in, his breath fanning yours with his eyes never leaving yours as you could feel him tightening his hold on you.

“Can I kiss you?” But before you could even respond, your brother’s voice ripped you away from your trance as the two of you quickly pulled away from each other as your brother finally found his way to his best friend and you

“Happy new year to two of my favorite people in the world” Your brother wrapped an arm around you and Heeseung to give a tight hug

But unknown to him, you and Heeseung stared at each other, your hearts fluttering at what almost could’ve been in that moment.

From there are on, you and Heeseung tried everything in your power to see each other even if it was for a glimpse. It was only when you heard a soft knock at your door where your winter became full of Heeseung.

Heeseung who knocked at your door felt his heart pounding out of his chest as he waited for a response. He was supposed to be asleep but you were consuming his mind that he couldn’t take it anymore.

But as he waited for you, it settled in his mind what he was doing. That’s when he felt a cold wave wash over him, he was outside your room, his best friend’s sister’s room.

He groaned before ruffling his hair realizing what he was doing, he must’ve been insane. He quickly left your room to sneak back into your brother’s room, but he heard the soft click as you opened your door and he froze.

“Heeseung?” Your soft confusion made him tense as he stiffly turned around, he saw the tilt in your head wondering why he knocked at your door in the first place

Something took control over him in that moment as his legs had a mind of its own and made their way to you, before softly cupping your face in his hands. He was panting heavily as he looked to your shocked eyes, he looked for any signs of discomfort or rejection.

But when you wrapped your hand around the nape of his neck to crash his lips against yours, all sanity of you being his best friend’s sister went out the window.

The two of you knew you shouldn’t be doing this, your brother would be furious if he found out that his most trusted best friend broke his trust just to be with you.

But as Heeseung continued to kiss you, he wondered if it was so wrong, why did it feel so right?

As you laid in your bed exhausted from the blind date, you could feel your eyelids become heavy but when your phone dinged you groaned.

You didn’t have the energy to respond but you assumed it was your brother wanting to check in on your mom (and ask about the date). You picked up your phone but you nearly dropped it seeing who actually texted you.

Heeseung: So how was the date?

You knew way too well how Heeseung operated, how he would casually mention the topic that is desperately clouding his mind thinking he was slick(he wasn’t).

And you were furious that he had the audacity to even text you that. Heeseung was in no place to try and say anything when he was the one that ended things between you two.

You: Doesn’t concern you

Heeseung grimaced reading your cold response to his message but he knew better than anyone that he deserved it.

He knew you didn’t want him lingering in your life anymore but that was inevitable, not when he was still your brother’s best friend.

Heeseung knew he screwed up but he freaked out, he wasn’t used to having such strong feelings that when you were in his arms tracing all kinds of shape against his chest, he almost let it slipped that he loved you.

That was a wake up call to him. He was falling deep into a pit that he wouldn’t be able to escape from and so what was the only thing he thought of doing? Leaving before it could ever become anything more.

When Heeseung told you that he no longer wanted to continue whatever it was happening between the two of you after months of it, it shattered your heart.

And you knew that once Heeseung had his mind set on something he wasn’t going to change his mind, so you simply accepted the decision. You cursed him out for leading it on for so long without any intention of ever getting together with you and left it at that.

Ever since then, you avoided him like the plague but with every corner you took, he was right there lingering around you and it was driving you insane.

You wanted Lee Heeseung out of your life when he all wanted was to be a part of it but he couldn’t show that side of him anymore.

“What are you doing here Heeseung?” You glared seeing Heeseung inside your place once again, sitting on your couch way too comfortably for your liking

“Your brother stepped out for a minute, told me to wait here” Your frowned hearing his words and you muttered under your breath that he still should’ve went with him

He heard your remark and bit back his tongue from saying something he knew he would regret. He simply tightened his jaw before bringing his attention back to his phone.

You rolled your eyes before opening your front door to leave but just before you were able to Heeseung called out to you.

“Going out on a date again?” You turned to see he was still scrolling on his phone, not even looking at you as he spoke

“Does your brother know?” Heeseung finally looked from his phone to you and you tried to calm down your beating heart trying to remember what he’s done

“I don’t need to tell him anything” You actually were only going to hang out with a friend but the sudden interested of your life from Heeseung set you off

As Heeseung was still under the impression that you were going out on a date, he only scoffed at your words, throwing his head back from a laugh.

“He kept pestering me all day wondering who you were out with, just do the favor and tell him”

“Are you sure it’s not you who was wondering?” You voiced out your thought before being able to stop yourself, your eyes widen as you quickly looked to Heeseung who froze himself

The silence between the two of you was unbearable, you opened your mouth multiple times to form at least some type of coherent sentence but nothing came out. Heeseung didn’t dare to face you as he stared in front of him knowing that if he looked at you, he would be selfish, so selfish to have you for him again.

For some reason you waited for some type of response from him, telling you that you weren’t wrong, that he didn’t want you to leave. But nothing came and you scoffed to yourself for even thinking that he would say anything.

Your brother walked into your place with a smile but he stopped when he saw you, he was going to question if you were going out but you easily pushed past him and told him to lock the door if he left.

“What happened with her? Wait do know where she’s going?” Your brother closed the door behind him as he questioned Heeseung who tightly held his phone

“She went on a date again”

You: Are you with my brother?

Heeseung nearly fell of his bed reading your message, you never messaged him first after what happened. He breathed heavily trying to ease his racing heart before quickly typing out a response.

Heeseung: No

When Heeseung saw that you read his message almost instantly, his heart soared as he anticipated your response but when minutes passed, you never responded.

He furrowed his eyebrows before sitting up on his bed as his fingers danced across the keyboard trying to type something to keep the conversation going.

Heeseung: Why? Can’t reach him?

His eyes kept darting around his screen waiting to see if you would have mercy and show him the time of day and it seemed his wish was answered as you started typing.

You: Yeah, we were supposed to meet up today but he stood me up

Heeseung: Sounds like him

Heeseung: Want me to come get you?

Heeseung gasped as his fingers instinctively typed out and sent the message that he used to always say when you were “together”.

He cursed under breath trying to redeem himself but his phone finally fell out his hand as he read over your response.

You: Fine

You didn’t know why you agreed to him picking you up, but it was the way you read the familiar message that you were already accepting his offer like nothing before you could even realize it.

You sighed at yourself disappointed you gave in so quickly but when the familiar car came into view, your heart sank finally realizing what you’ve done.

Heeseung rolled down the window to give you the same infamous smile that got you wrapped around his fingers in the first place. You swallowed harshly before making your way to Heeseung’s car, somewhere you’ve been in way too many times.

“Still nothing from him?” Heeseung asked the moment you entered the car and you shook your head, he sighed before driving off

The silence could be cut through by a knife as neither of you said anything but Heeseung’s car immediately recognized your phone and connected you to the bluetooth before playing your playlist.

You and Heeseung jumped hearing the familiar melody of your playlist, something he always allowed you to play in his car as the two of you drove around without a care in the world.

“You never deleted my phone” You softly observed, nervous about how he would take your words

“Wanted to make sure it was there, to avoid the hassle of connecting it again for the day you’d be back in here” Heeseung honestly responded and the two of you could feel the tension rising, you looked out the car window closing your eyes to get out of this nightmare(it wasn’t one)

“Says the one that ended everything” You muffled under your breath but he heard it, he always did

“I wanted to be prepared, never knew what could happen” Heeseung softly spoke as he slowed down reaching a red light

You bit your lip to hold yourself back from adding fuel to the fire but you thought he already opened that door, so it was all fair game.

“Well no need to fret, you made sure it wouldn’t” You huffed out and Heeseung snuck a glance to you before deeply sighing

He knew you were right, he did something stupid just because he didn’t want to accept the truth that he loves you.

“I never wanted us to end-“

“Green light Heeseung” You cut off his words not wanting to hear him out anymore, it was already unbearable enough that your heart still longed for him

But you didn’t know just how much his heart also longed for you, but Heeseung could only dream of what could’ve been between you two if only he told you he loved you that night you were in his arms.

Heeseung was driving himself to brink of insanity as he paced around his room, his best friend, your brother, watched as he was freaking out and he could only wonder what went through his mind.

“Mind telling me what the heck is wrong with you?”

Heeseung shook his head, waving his friend off.

“Come on Heeseung, I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s wrong?” Heeseung almost let out a scoff at his friend’s words, knowing he only means well

But what could Heeseung even tell him? That he was practically in love with his best friend’s sister, that the two of you had a fling behind his back, and that he missed you so much that he was willing to beg on his knees for you to take him back.

As if Heeseung would say that.

“Nothing, just thinking” Heeseung mumbled before plopping himself on his bed as he covered his face with his hands

“I know you better than you know yourself” Your brother scoffed at his best friend who could only chuckle at his words

As if, was all Heeseung could think before raising his head and holding his face with his hand.

“Look I don’t know what’s going on but whatever it is. Go for it” Heeseung slowly rose form his bed as he stared at his friend in disbelief not realizing the weight of his words

“I can’t” Heeseung chuckled out a weak smile before trying to move on from the topic but your brother didn’t let up

“Look I’m assuming this is the same girl from months ago, the one you’re painfully head over heels for but stupidly ended it for no reason” Heeseung forgot that he told your brother that, only keeping out the minor fact that the girl was you

When he didn’t responded, your brother nodded knowing that he hit the source. He didn’t like seeing his best friend like this so he wanted to try and be encouraging.

“Just confess your feelings for her” Your brother shrugged easily before resting his back against Heeseung’s chair

“It’s not that simple”

“She clearly doesn’t want to talk to me, I fucked up big time. I don’t think there’s any salvation left” Heeseung admitted but your brother waved him off

“You’ll never know if you don’t try”

Heeseung felt his mind clear in that moment, he gulped realizing his best friend was right. How would he know that you and him were officially done if he never tried.

He wanted to thank you brother for helping clear his mind but it felt wrong because at the end of the day, the one he loves was the sister of his best friend.

“Where’s my brother?” You raised an eyebrow only seeing Heeseung standing by himself

He turned when he heard your voice and the way you looked under the stars, reminded of him what slipped through his fingers. But he was determined to redeem what he lost.

“He’s on his way” A white lie that Heeseung told in order to get you to meet him because he knows you wouldn’t willingly come out to see him

You nodded your head as you kept a distance between you and Heeseung. The two of you awkwardly standing side by side as you waited for your brother to arrive while Heeseung was mentally preparing himself.

“Where is he-“

“I love you” You slowly turned your head to look at Heeseung as if he was insane for the three words that just came from his mouth

“What?” You muttered not knowing if your mind was just deceiving you of what Heeseung said but when he fully turned to face you with a deep breath, you knew you were in trouble

“I said I love you”

“I regret every single day letting you go” Your breath got caught in your throat as you stared at him in pure shock, he couldn’t be serious

“There was one night where you were tracing shapes on my chest as you laid your body against mine, that’s when I knew I loved you”

“But instead of telling you, I freaked out and thought it was best to leave before it could turn it into anything more even though that was all I ever wanted”

“I dreamed of what could’ve been between us if I only faced my feelings for you in the moment but instead I lost the best thing to ever happen to me and that’s my biggest regret”

“I know I messed up, I don’t deserve your forgiveness but please I will prove myself to you. I’ll work from scratch if I have to if it means that you give me a chance to be yours again, officially this time though” Heeseung didn’t plan anytime soon to stop his rant of his pent up feelings for you

But he was quick to shut up when you crashed your lips again his just like first time he kissed you. Heeseung’s eyes went wide for a moment before bring you close to him by your waist to deepen the kiss.

After hearing his confession, you don’t know what came over you but you only wanted to feel what it seems to be the mutual desperation for each other after being apart from each other for so long.

The kiss more desperate than romantic as Heeseung kissed you like there was no tomorrow. He craved your kisses ever since he stopped receiving them, so being able to have them again, he was desperate to savor everything.

“Never letting you go” He murmured in the kiss as held you closer if that was even possible, you tried to break free from the kiss worried your brother would see the two of you

“What if he sees us?” You pulled away as your lips were slightly swollen from the kissing

“Then that’s a risk I’m willing to take” Heeseung smirked bringing his lips back onto yours as he knew your brother wasn’t coming

As he kissed you now more romantic with passion, Heeseung finally felt like a weight was let off his shoulders as he entered cloud 9. This was all he ever dreamed, having you in his arms again and him officially being yours.

You and Heeseung began dating for two months now (behind your brother’s back) and it was like a finally fulfilled dream with the exception of your brother being completely unaware of your relationship with his best friend.

Now, it wasn’t ideal for you to be lying to your brother and Heeseung to be lying to his best friend. But neither of you felt the time was right just yet, so you wanted to hold back just a little longer.

Heeseung was over at your place just like always and the two of you sat on the couch watching a movie. His head resting on your shoulder as he intertwined your hands, you smiled softly as he rubbed soft circles on the back of your hand.

You could melt into the moment but you couldn’t as your front door was bursted opened and in walked your brother, ranting about something ineligible to your ears.

You and Heeseung immediately tried to pull away from each other but it was too late, your brother already froze when he saw the scene in front of him.

He felt anger, shock and confusion wash over him, he was coming to your place to rant about not knowing where Heeseung had run off too only to find where his best friend had crawled to which was by your side.

“What the fuck is this?” Your brother breathed out as he motioned to you and Heeseung who were already separated form each other

Heeseung immediately took charge as he was the first to stand and face his best friend.

“Is this the girl..?” Your brother finally put together the pieces that the girl that Heeseung was head over heels for all this time was none other than you

“You were messing around with my sister this entire time? Behind my back?!”

“You went for my sister?” Your brother quickly came charging to Heeseung as he grabbed his collar in anger and Heeseung accepted it all, he expected it when your brother found out

You gasped as you called out your brother’s name but your voice fell deaf on his ears as he waited for his best friend to say anything, who could say nothing.

“Say something Heeseung!” Your brother ushered his best friend who quickly pushed the hands grabbing his collar off

“I’m sorry for the not telling you sooner, I’m so sorry”

“But I am not sorry for getting together with her. You saw the way I crumbled without her, you of all people know how much I love her. You were the one who told me to go for it”

“But I didn’t know that it was my own sister you were going after” Your brother looked to you who stood by Heeseung, he angrily sighed

“I trusted you to not go after her, I trusted you Heeseung” Heeseung felt terrible, he never meant to break your brother’s trust and go behind his back but you were on the line and he just couldn’t lose you

“I know there aren’t enough apologies to express how sorry I am, but I love her. I really do” Heeseung tried to defend his case hoping his best friend would try to understand where he was coming from

“How long?” This time your brother turned to you, wanting you to answer

You awkwardly swallowed before answering.

“Two months” Your brother groaned hearing your answer, he now knew that you and Heeseung had your fling which Heeseung ended way before the two months you two officially got together

“My best friend?” Your brother looked to you and you opened your mouth to say anything but nothing let your mouth before he switched his gaze onto Heeseung

“My sister?”

“Did you guys take me as a fool?” Your brother asked and you were quick to deny his words

“No, we were just scared to tell you, afraid of how you would react to us being together”

“We’re so sorry for keeping this from you, but I love him too” You grabbed Heeseung’s hand into yours and Heeseung stared at you with wide eyes

This was not how he expected to hear you say you love him for the first time but it still didn’t stop his heart from swelling. He tried to hold back to smile but it was impossible.

Your brother took notice of your actions, words and the effect it had on Heeseung and he took a moment to truly observe the two of you.

Heeseung stared sickeningly in love at you and your brother saw the way your hand tightened around Heeseung’s to stand your ground to him. This was something he never saw before.

Your brother felt conflicted but his soon clouded mind became clearer as he slowly realized, who was he to come in between two of the most important in his life’s happiness?

You noticed the way your brother’s tension slowly faded away before sighing out in defeat.

“You better not hurt her” Your brother warned Heeseung who immediately looked to him from you, trying to catch up with what just happened

But when he finally realized what was happening, he soon gave a smile before nodding his head.

“I would never even dream of it” Your brother reached out a hand to his best friend to shake and Heeseung took his hand

“Take care of each other” You smiled warmly before going to give a hug to your brother, which he reciprocated

A few hours later, it was now just you and Heeseung left at your place as your brother left not too long ago. You rested your head against his body as he held you, tracing small circles on your back.

Heeseung smiled warmly the moment you started to make stars on his chest with your finger just like how you did the night he realized he loved you.

“So you love me huh?” Heeseung raised an eyebrow and he noticed how you stopped your action and he let out a chuckle

“You were the one to say it first” You huffed out but Heeseung raised his hands in defeat

“I never said anything about saying it first” You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend’s word and he cheekily smiled before placing a kiss against your neck

You softly giggled as the kiss tickled your neck, even though it may have taken a little longer than what you wanted. Heeseung was finally yours.

Heeseung was beyond happy, this was all he ever dreamed of, having you back in his arms as he was officially yours. He was grateful he no longer had to wonder what could’ve been between the two of you because now it finally happened.

As the smoke cleared, he looked to the moon shining upon him. Everyday he is reminded that before merely existing, having turned himself into the one that people run away from, to something of no return.

He had a happy life, a life that consisted of you and him in this world, bounded together by the red strings of fate (how he liked to think of it).

You threaded into the active townhouse for the weekly town dinner. It was a time hosted every end of the week to allow the whole town where you lived to come together and mingle with one another.

As your eyes immediately searched over the crowd looking for the Jake, you saw there was no sign of him. You scoffed remembering how he ushered you to arrive to the dinner as fast as possible so that he can see you.

You assumed he was late himself and you were sure going to give him an earful, that was until a faint whispered tickled your ear.

“Looking for me?” You didn’t even flinch knowing all too well who’s voice that was and you turned to find a cheeky smiling Jake as his hand immediately found it’s place at your waist

You rolled your eyes at him and before you could say anything about him being late he was already dragging you to accept the eager greetings from the town’s people.

Your relationship with Jake was adored by practically everyone in the town. It was known that if Jake ever needed to be found, just look for you and you will be sure to find him trailing alongside you.

Your relationship was quick to become the standard that people could only dream of ever achieving and luckily neither you and Jake had to dream of it, it was your reality.

“I missed you” Jake whispered in your ear

“We saw each other this morning” You huffed out but he planted a soft kiss against the side of your face causing you to let out a giggle that quickly filled his heart with happiness

“That’s was like a million years ago” Jake told and it was obvious by how smitten he was over you and you like to believe you were just as smitten but he denied saying you could ever match up to him

You and Jake were happy, having a life full of love and joy and most importantly with each other. Your smiles and laughter imprinted into Jake’s mind like a broken record.

He couldn’t believe he was foolish to ever believe that he would be able to keep that happy life with you.

Jake zoned out as he stared at nothing, his mind was clouded by the memory of you. He tried to swallow down the anger burning in him but it only raged in him more.

“Come on, come on!” Jake eagerly held your hand as he dragged you to a spring he found, you chuckled at his antics but the moment your eyes stumbled upon the stream you gleamed over the beautiful scenery

Jake let go of your hand as he took off his shoes and folded his pants before running to the water. He turned to face you a mischievous smile and you warned him not to even think about it. He softly pouted before continuing to splash in the water.

You squatted down admiring the scene before you, but you squealed loudly and turned your body away from the cold waster splashed on you.

“Jake!” You gasped but when you turned expecting to see Jake’s cheeky smile, you saw someone else instead

You jerked back as you saw the person smiling toothy smile towards you, a piece of hair stuck to his forehead that your hand itched to move. You froze as your eyes scanned the person’s face noticing the evident moles on the side of his nose and cheekbone.

You tried to rack your brain for any type of recognition on who he is but there was nothing.

Suddenly, a strong wave of emotions crashed over you and you fell back starting at the him. The worried look on his face made something in you churn, you had no idea who this was in front of you but for some reason unknown to you, your heart hurt— it hurt a lot.

However, the calling of your name brought you back from the daze and you blinked to see Jake’s worried gaze.

“Are you okay?” His soft voice soothed your uneasy nerves for moment before your eyes hastily looked around trying to find the person just in front of you

Suddenly, you grimace loudly holding your head as you felt a sharp pain.

“Hey hey, it’s okay I’m here” Jake quickly stepped out of the stream and made his way to you seeing your distress

Your mind became hazy with things you didn’t understand that left you wondering why the same face from just for a few seconds ago now flashed through your mind in a montage.

Jake knew all too well. You would’ve hated feeling his now cold skin, having him understanding the unquenched hunger, and fangs that ached to sink in.

You would be furious at him for turning himself into a vampire but he was more furious that you unwillingly became one.

He remembers the night he found you, excitedly holding a box in hand but when he entered your room instead being greeted with the smile he adored, he saw you hunched in the corner.

Your eyes widened in fear when you called out to you, and you were to rise from your crouched position and quickly tried to leave but Jake stopped you from doing so

“Let me go please” You pleaded fearful of somehow hurting him when you didn’t want to

Jake noticed how you didn’t dare face him and just how cold you felt under his touch. Your attempt to push Jake away failed as you were scared you would unintentionally hurt him.

Jake tilted your head to face him and you wanted to melt in his touch but you grabbed his hand to stop him. Your voice barely passing as a whisper when calling out his name, fearful for him to see what you’ve turned into.

Jake continued to turn your head to face him and that’s when he saw it, the peeking fangs from your mouth and the two punctures on the side of your neck.

Your teary eyes met with his wide ones as his hold on you loosened and even though it was what you wanted, it still pained you.

Jake broke the silence as he cupped his warm hands against your cold face, it was a harsh reminder of the difference now between you, a living human being and a nonhuman, a vampire.

“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere? What happened?” Your lips quivering threatening to spill out a sob and this didn’t get unnoticed by Jake

“Shh it’s okay” He brought you into his arms trying to soothe your growing fear

"You have to go Jake. I don’t… I-I can’t hurt you. Please" Your pleas fell deaf to his ear, you wanted him to leave and never look back, to forget you ever existed

But Jake could never forget you. Even if he tried (he’d never), you were already a part of him. When you pulled yourself away from him, you were panting heavily trying to keep your mind in check, your fangs ached. But Jake still looked at you as if you hung the stars (to him, you always did)

“You could never hurt me” Jake chuckled hoping to lighten the suffocating mood and you found it frustrating that Jake was staying by your side

“Jake who are we kidding… Look at me!Look at what I’ve become!”

“I’m only going to cause misery and I can’t do that to you” You sobbed out as you referred to yourself with your hands

Surprisingly, as someone who’s scared of most things, Jake wasn’t scared of you in the slightest. Knowing that it was you, he didn’t care. To him, you would forever just be you.

"Then cause all kinds of misery in my life I don’t care”Jake could careless of the supposed consequences, he loves you and you were what he only needed

He sighed before tilting his head to the side exposing his neck as an offer to you, his actions speaking louder than words. He was giving you full permission to bite him.

Your eyes widen alarmed feeling the aching of fangs grow even more as your mind became numb seeing what Jake had done, what he was offering you.

Even though it was hard, you snapped yourself out of the daze in anger that he would even suggest something like that

“Are you crazy?! Why would you even suggest that?”

“You have so much to live for Jake”

"But none of it would matter if it’s not with you” Jake approached you again

“I’m yours in every way. I live solely for you.“ Jake confessed and you noticed him pulling out a box and you stared at him confused, your eyes darting between him and the box.

Jake placed the box in your hands, ushering for you to open it. Your breath heavy as you carefully opened it and you gasped seeing what was inside of it.

“I love you” The three words he said echoed through your room as you looked to the pendant necklace with teary eyes, your lips quivering

“I’m not going anywhere, I’m going to stay right here with you” He smiled happily as he loved the way you admired the necklace he got you

“I know it’s not much” Jake rubbed the back of his neck before clearing his throat as you stared at the pedant necklace in the box

“It’s beautiful” You choked out as Jake softly grabbed the necklace before carefully clasping it onto your neck

His touch tender as he adjusted the necklace just right to have pendant dangling in the middle.

He looked to your eyes that glazed filled with tears. He chuckled as he wiped the falling tears away.

You hated that you were forced into turning into something you never wanted to turn into. It broke you to see what you and Jake were forced to become now.

But to Jake, you were still the same person he loves, just some unique attributes that now add to the very character he adores.

He never wanted to leave your side, only wanting to stay with you for the rest of eternity.

“I promise to put a ring on your finger”

Jake went through the town running your errands. It’s been some time as you and him tried to get accustomed to the new life you had to live. You were no longer able to walk around in daylight the way you used to, so he offered to do everything for you during daylight times.

He knew you didn’t like the fact that he had to your day to day things since you weren’t able to do them but he didn’t mind. In fact, he was more than happy and willing to help you. He wanted to make sure you could rest and live a life that’s easy because of him.

There were time people asked where you were and he only told that you weren’t feeling well and that he was trying his best to take care of you(very much true).

Soon enough Jake stumbled upon a vender. His eyes zeroed in the ring that shined ever so brightly in the sunlight. His breath felt ragged before he smiled, a surge of certainty coursed through him knowing he had to get it.

The moonlight shined above Jake as he played with his necklace, a ring dangling in the middle it and when it laid at his fingertips, he gazed to it.

Jake didn’t have many regrets (especially with what he’s done up until now) but his biggest regret was not getting you a ring sooner.

Night time fell, and Jake stands outside your front door, a bouquet of flowers in hand as he tried to mentally prepare himself for the words that were going to leave him mouth that night. ‘Will you please marry me?’

He softly knocked at your door but there was no response, his eyebrows furrowed as he knocked again but still nothing. He tilted his head confused and tried the door knob only to find the door unlocked. Finally an unease settling in him.

He hastily opened your front door knowing you never left it unlocked even now. He stepped in only to find your place wrecked from top to bottom.

His heart pounded as he urgently called out your name multiple times praying to get any type of response but when he received nothing, his breathing stopped.

But then Jake heard loud shouts and yells outside, he looked out your opened front door and felt his heart sink. He quickly dropped the bouquet before rushing out, his feet rushing towards the yells.

His rapid footsteps came to a halt when he finally saw a large crowd with lit torche. He could hear cries from the people who held each other tightly, shaking with fear.

He pushed through the crowd and finally when he made it to the front that’s when he saw you at the end of all the lit torches.

You held out a shaky hand trying to stop the people you once called friends. You stood in fear from all the lit torches pointed to you, panting heavily with your fangs out. Right when Jake was going to rush over to you, he felt hands trapping his body in a hold that held him from reaching you.

He looked to see multiple people holding him back, the shake of their heads silently telling him not to get close to you. That you were a dangerous monster.

The tears you held back filled your eyes as you saw Jake who was now thrashing in the hold trying to break free. His shouts to leave you alone and let him go rang louder than the other yells towards you.

You subconsciously tried to reach out to Jake, seeking the comfort he provides but lit torches came hurling towards you to keep you away from him.

You screeched as people kept marching towards you, torches roaring loudly in the night sky forcing you deep into the forest.

Jake cried out your name like a chant, he was going to crumble now that you were far away from him. Your tear stained face looked to him in horror the closer you got pushed into the forest.

Your lips quivered as you tried to defend yourself but not wanting to hurt anyone.

“Leave her alone!” Jake yelled as he shook in the tight grip trying to break free, he couldn’t lose you

Jake wanted, needed, to live with you even if it was just for a little while longer.

You looked behind you to the dark woods that were now being filled with sun, your arm in line with a beam of light and you hissed when it touched your skin.

The sun was rising and you knew you couldn’t be out for any longer, your mind reeled with options, trying to figure out what you could do but it only came down to one.

You willingly started backing into the woods.

“No, no, no stop! Please!” Jake screamed at you, noticing how you were getting farther and farther from him

Your heart crumbled hearing his cries. You turned your attention to him for one last time, this was the last time that either of you would see each other again.

“I love you” You mouthed hoping Jake would be able to understand you as you tripped over your legs walking backwards

“Stay” Jake mouthed, his lips shivering as he spoke

“Leave her alone please!” Jake begged and begged but it was to no vail

“I’m so sorry, let’s meet in our next life” You chocked out a smile before turning around and running into the woods, never looking back once as tears spilled from your eyes hearing Jake’s wails

“No!” Jake thrashed harsher and he was able to free only one of his arm that tried to reach out to you but you were already gone

His heart felt like it was ripped out of his chest and smushed into nothing as the happy world he once knew was destroyed and trampled on in a form of mockery of reality.

Jake was called an idiot countless of times for going into to the woods everyday in search for you, hoping to bring you back. So the only reasonable thing the town believed to do in order to help Jake move on from you was to destroy every reminder that existed of you.

This included your place and as Jake was making his way to the forest, he had to watch in horror the fire coursing through your place with no intent of stopping.

The fire destroying everything in its way even the memories your place held of him and you. The suffering that the people of the two thought they were diminishing only grew more and more until it consumed him whole.

Jake was in the woods for his usual search for you. The full moon shined in the sky above him, as he had a torch in hand. His pained callings for you filled the silent forest the deeper he went in.

He doesn’t know how long he had been searching but as he continued, he walked through the forest stopping in his track when hearing branches snapping under footsteps.

“Sim Jake” The use of his full name made him whip his head to look for who called him, the torch scorched bigger when he finally saw a figure in front of him

Jake’s heart raced as he felt a sense of fear settle in him as he tried to use the light of the fire to see the person who only stepped back tutting their mouth and waving a finger no.

“Your painful cries fill me, reminding me of one who I helped time ago. One who was just like you, helplessly praying to whoever was willing to listen”

“You wish to be reconciled with your love no?” This sentence immediately perked Jake’s interest, wondering how the mysterious figure knew of his current state

“This could be easily fixed you know, only if you say yes though” The voice was menacing, allowing unease to settle in Jake’s stomach but he pushed that aside as he was curious of the proposal to reunite with you

“How..?” Jake clearly intrigued and this caused the figure to smirk widely, clasping their hands loudly together

“It’s simple however, it does require a bit of waiting and also-“ The person wasn’t able to finish their words as Jake quickly interrupted

You were forever tainted in him and he would be willing to do anything in this universe if it meant being able to see you again.

“I’m willing to wait as long as I need to in order to be with her again”

“One should be careful of promises made not knowing if they could ever be fulfilled” The voice warned

“You promised to put a ring on her right? And how did that go for you?” The mention of the ring that now dangled from the chain around his neck as a necklace made his fist tighten.

“You should be careful with your words. You never know if you could ever go back on them once they’ve been said” The figure smirked sensing the pure desperation in Jake

Jake was exactly like the one the figure helped time ago.

The figure snapped their fingers to suddenly appear in front of Jake, taking the appearance of a human being but deep down Jake knew this was no human, it was something inhumane.

“Well then with the power that I hold, I’ll give you what you long for Sim Jake. It just may not be what you hoped for”

“But I hope you’re satisfied nonetheless, it’s what you asked for. But if you’re not, do not blame me. I’m only just giving you a stepping stone” And with no other words uttered, it all happened so quickly that Jake couldn’t register what happened

He could feel his conscious slipping through as his eyes lids felt heavy, the torch in hand fell as his body crumpled to the forest floor. The fire cashed as a small fire to form before growing and the figure smirked before fading into the night, leaving Jake by himself.

Even with the burning fire rapidly rising around Jake, he felt cold, the warmth in his body soon fading as a raging hunger raged in the pit of his stomach, his throat growing dry with every heavy pant he took as an unbearable pain grew in his mouth.

He felt an excruciating pain on the side of his neck that he so desperately wanted to ease but couldn’t as his body went limp. Jake was losing his sense of reality that a hallucination formed of you.

You were smiling to him offering a hand, Jake noticed the ring that laid on your ring finger just like how he promised.

As the hallucination continued, Jake didn’t realize the slowing and stopping of his heart as he fully slipped into the very world that forced you away from him.

Jake became the one people will now cower in fear from, his new existence as a vampire. His body was surrounded by the fire but Jake was willing to burn for you. He closed his eyes as he let his mind shut down as the blazing fire ignited something new in him.

“Jake” The stern call of his name brought him out of his daze, closing his fist putting out the fire that grew on his hand

He looked up before getting up and walking past the one who called him. He knew what the call of his name meant, it was time.

Jake’s body was covered by underbrush and branches from the forest as his eyes zeroed in on the familiar townhouse that was vibrant from the dinner he used to attend with you.

He stood there waiting and waiting until he saw the last few people walking out and bidding goodbye to each other, they had the luxury to say goodbye as if they had done nothing wrong.

Once it was confirmed no one left. Jake held his hand out before lightly raising his fingertips, his face soon painted by the orange hues of fire that now burned the townhouse.

His face remained stoic as he could faintly hear the loud clamoring of voices freaking out watching their precious townhouse become nothing but ashes. He saw how his fire danced through the townhouse to burn it, his masterpiece working in his favor.

He could feel the pair of eyes that bore into him from behind him but he didn’t say anything before turning a heel and walking past, deep into the woods.

“Just let it burn”

Just as he passed, he discreetly lifted his fingertips once again to set the tree next to him up in flames. He knew it was pointless, even if he burned everything with his fingertip, he would never get you back.

But he still would make sure the world that abandoned and casted you far away from him knew he would burn it to ashes.

“You’re a monster Jake” He smirked hearing the words told to him, the truth it held sent an eerie smile to plaster on his face

“Oh I’m not a monster” He huffed out, however he thought for a moment longer before sighing in defeat

He chuckled mockingly as he raised his fingertips once again and the small fire on the tree now spread across the entire forest. He’s aware of what he’s become but he didn’t care because in the name of you and his love for you, Jake accepts his new fate.

“Actually maybe I am a monster”

The infamous smile plastered on his face as his body was faced towards you. He had this demeanor that you were undeniably drawn to but forced yourself out of that daze.

“Guess we’re partners” The moment he spoke, all eyes were on you

You awkwardly nodded your head as you tried to ignore the stares burning into your entire existence and focus in front of you.

You knew there were people that would kill to be in your spot, and truthfully speaking you had no problem switching.

When Sunghoon who was waiting for some type of reaction from you received nothing, he raised an eyebrow, confused but assumed you were simply trying to comprehend how he was in front of you.

“No need to freak out or anything, it’s really me-“ Before he could even finish he sentence you raised a hand to stop him

Normally, you wouldn’t waste time even speaking to people like Sunghoon. There was no point, neither ever crossed paths before nor have you even acknowledged each other’s existence.

But now you had to bear with him until the end of the project if you wanted a good grade.

When you gave no response after shutting Sunghoon up, he could feel the embarrassment rising which was rare (a big lie).

“I look forward to working with you. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about you” He tried to catch your attention as you seemed to focus on the lesson rather than on him

He gave a slight frown but wiped it off before having a smirk plaster onto his face. He could feel the excitement coursing through his mind and he knew exactly what it meant.

When the lesson was done, he turned expecting to see you beside him but to his shock you were already out of the classroom. He grumbled and quickly went after you.

What you thought was finally peace and no lurking eyes on you turned to ruckus around you when Sunghoon suddenly appeared next to you.

His mouth whispered right into your ear and you immediately jerked yourself away in confusion. He gave a warm smile and grabbed your bag from you to hold it.

“You walk so fast, it was hard to catch up to you” He joked and the look you gave him must’ve shown your discomfort because he awkwardly cleared his throat

You tried to grab your bag from him but before you could reach it, he moved his body and you almost lost your balance.

He was quick to catch you to make sure you didn’t fall (you were never going to fall in the first place).

You stared at him as he gave another smile but you quickly pushed him away and grabbed your bag from him before huffing out a sigh and walking away.

Of course you knew who Park Sunghoon is, but that also meant you knew the reputation surrounding him. He had people lined up for him for a reason and you weren’t going to allow yourself to fall for his trap.

As you were walking you were going to pull out your phone from your bag, but the moment you did a piece of paper fell out as well.

You tilted your head confused before reaching to pick it up soon your mouth was agape when you saw the written phone number on it.

‘My number -p.sh’

Now you didn’t want to text Sunghoon, especially with the way that he had given his number. It felt like he was treating you as someone who simply wanted to get the attention of being involved with him.

You knew deep down that was far from the truth but you had to swallow your pride for a moment as you typed his number in for a contact.

Sunghoon was in bed, lazily resting an arm over his eyes as he could feel the drowsiness take over. But right when he was going to shut his eyes, his phone pinged from a notification.

Normally, he would ignore it and deal with it whenever he had the energy to but something in him told him to check it.

He groaned before grabbing his phone seeing just who decided to text him so late at night.

He saw an unsaved number but the message attached to it made him shoot up from his bed with a slight smirk forming on his face.

: Let’s meet tomorrow to start the project

“Over here!” Sunghoon waved once he saw you, the people passing gave a weird look to him before going their way

You observed how he never truly cared about the public’s opinion on him. He knew that there would be people that praise him and people that despise him, nothing you could do about it.

But now that you were assigned a project with him you knew from the very start what it came with. You didn’t enjoy being the center of attention and having him lingering around you was quite troublesome.

“How was your morning?” He asked sweetly but you believed you saw right through it and simply ignored his question

He was taken aback from the lack of response but he nodded his head, realizing that it would take a lot more for him to slither his way into your heart.

“Let’s head in shall we?” Sunghoon opened the door for you and with the faintest ‘thank you’, he was already grinning like an idiot

He was sure that you would get caught up by him soon or later, it was only a matter of strategic timing and planning to get the job done.

“So what’s your favorite movie?” Sunghoon tried to garner your attention but you didn’t give him any, he sighed heavily after being rejected for the twentieth time

He was growing tiresome trying to get your attention on something that wasn’t something for the project.

“Uhm so what’s your favorite-“

“I heard you the first time, I am just choosing to ignore you” You finally put your pen down before looking at him which caught him off guard

He shifted in his seat and cleared his throat, not expecting that (or any) reaction. The two stared at each other for a moment and for the first time ever, Sunghoon was the one to shift his gaze away.

“Let’s continue working” You softly said before picking up your pen again but as he tried to recover from the lost of the staring contest he sighed heavily

“Why don’t we take a break for now, my hand hurts from all the writing” You glanced over to Sunghoon’s paper, only to see he had only written his name on it

You glared towards him and he gave a cheeky smile which he thought would make you smile at least but nothing. You kept your stoic expression, unamused by his attempt to make you smile (you found it humorous that he failed instead).

“Is this why you’re failing the class?” Sunghoon choked on air and coughed loudly hearing your response

“How do you know that?” Sunghoon loudly whispered as he looked around making sure no one heard your remark

“You always complain about your grade in class” You stated and he sighed before embarrassingly looking away but suddenly an idea popped in his head

“So you’re paying attention to me?” He raised an eyebrow to you teasingly

“It’s hard not to when you’re so loud about it” Sunghoon’s world alongside his ego shattered hearing your rebuttal to his attempt to tease you

This is not how he planned this day to go.

Sunghoon cleared his throat loudly before picking up his pen and taking glances at his laptop before writing on the piece of paper, wishing to simply disintegrate into the universe.

You noticed his reaction and you were glad he was working but you felt bad, you didn’t mean to come off as rude, it’s just what you observed from him.

You itched to apologize, your mouth opening every now and then but nothing came out. You sighed before continuing to write on your paper, an awkward silence resting over the two of you.

“I’ll walk you home” You didn’t expect for Sunghoon to offer this especially when the rest of the evening was pure silence between the two of you

You were going to deny Sunghoon’s offer but he was quick to gather your bag along with his.

Another thing that you observed about Sunghoon was that he was stubborn but troublesome for him you were also stubborn.

“It’s okay I can make it home by myself” You tried to grab your bag from him but he was already walking away with it

If this is what Sunghoon thought could win you over, he is mistaken. You sighed annoyed but decided to not put up a fight, you were tired and just wanted to get home as quickly as possible.

As you and Sunghoon were walking to your place he tried to make small talk with you. You wanted to walk in silence but he was determined to have a decent conversation with you.

The talks were brief but you realized that there a slight shift in Sunghoon’s demeanor. It was more relaxed and gentle and maybe even a little genuine. A side you’ve never seen before from him.

But you reminded yourself this could easily be one of his antics to have you wrapped in his fingers. But before you knew it, you were already at your front doorstep.

“Thank you for walking me home” Sunghoon easily waved it off as nothing

“Also I’m sorry if what I said earlier come off as rude, it wasn’t my intention”

“Goodnight” After you finally apologized, you entered your place and closed the door behind you before he could even respond

Sunghoon stood surprised for a moment before softly letting out a genuine chuckle.

You heard a ping from your phone and when you looked at it, you found yourself letting out the smallest smile ever.

Sunghoon: It’s okay you weren’t wrong. Goodnight to you as well

From when you stepped foot onto campus, all eyes were on you again. You tried to remind yourself that this was only temporarily and soon you could go back to your old lifestyle without Sunghoon in your life.

But that moment wasn’t now because you suddenly felt a poke to your head and when you turned, you were met with Sunghoon’s cheeky smile.

“Let’s walk together” He hummed, you sighed realizing that he really wasn’t going down without a fight so you weren’t going to put up one

You nodded your head as you waited for him to catch up to you. Sunghoon smiled realizing that you’re starting to warm up to him even if it is a tiny bit.

You: Where are you?

You: We said we were meeting today to finish

You sighed as time passed by and there was no sign of Sunghoon. You scoffed to yourself realizing he left you stranded.

What did you expect, he probably left all the work for you to ensure that he can pass. You scoffed as you placed your head into yours hands before groaning loudly.

Having to do the project by yourself wasn’t something foreign to you, but you were still annoyed.

You had to pick up on his slack. You weren’t going to allow someone like Sunghoon to taint your grade because of careless actions.

You were disappointed would be an understatement. You assumed the least he could do is give you a heads up if he isn’t able to make it, but it seemed you hoped too much for the impossible.

Hours passed by and you were still engrossed in the project trying to complete it, you could feel the pure exhaustion catching up but you needed to push through.

“Bye Sunghoon” The teasing tone had a faint smirk form on Sunghoon’s face whilst waving goodbye

He pulled out his phone and saw the time, 3 am, he sighed knowing he was going to get a good nights rest the moment he landed on his bed.

He placed his phone back into his pocket and right when he turned, there he saw you through a window.

You were yet to see him but he saw how you yawned and tiredly rested your head on your arm as a pillow and closed your eyes.

That’s when it finally clicked in Sunghoon’s mind. He was supposed to meet up with you today to finish the project. He cursed at himself before entering the place you were in.

He quickly made his way over to you but you were already fast asleep. He saw your laptop open with paper scattered around.

He got too distracted that he forgot he was meeting up with you today and he knew all efforts of trying to get you warming up to him now went out the window.

He wasn’t one to care about how people perceived him but you must’ve thought he’s even more of a jerk than what you already thought he was.

Sunghoon made sure to be quiet to not disturb your sleep as he carefully sat next to you before grabbing your laptop.

He scrolled and saw that you were practically almost done with the project. The guilt that rested in stomach grew even more and began to eat him up, you picked up his slack because of his ignorance.

Sunghoon knew you wouldn’t easily forgive him and he doesn’t blame you. But the least he could do is let you sleep while he takes care of the rest.

He carefully draped his jacket over you as he noticed you were directly under an air vent. He looked for a split second longer than what he wanted to, you looked so peaceful when sleeping.

He found a faint smile growing but stopped to bring himself back to focus on finishing the project.

He grabbed a spare sticky note and a few moments later placed it next to your mousepad, before starting to type into your laptop.

Your eyes fluttered opened as you could feel a bright light hitting your face. You used your hand to cover the sunlight but noticed a jacket draped over you and you froze.

You hazily looked around and you jumped when you noticed Sunghoon asleep next to you with your laptop in front of him. You quickly grabbed your laptop to see what he had done but to your surprise you saw the project was completely finished and revised.

You don’t know when you fell asleep, let alone when he even arrived so you were shocked to wake up next to him.

You were pleased that at least the project was done, however your gaze soon caught the sticky note stuck near your mousepad.

‘I know this is the weakest way to apologize, but I am really sorry for leaving you hanging.

Rest well, I’ll take care of everything else’

You shifted your gaze onto Sunghoon but what you didn’t expect was for him to be looking at you back. Normally you would’ve reverted your eyes away but you were in some trance, an extra flutter in your heart made you realize you were falling.

But you weren’t the only one. With the sunrise setting upon you and the look you were giving him, Sunghoon found himself in utter awe of you as his heart fluttered against his chest.

That was something new.

Now Sunghoonn was wide awake in bed with you haunting his mind, he doesn’t get it. The project was long done and no matter how much he tried to distract himself, he always found his mind drifting off to you.

He didn’t have a guilty conscience anymore, you made it very clear that you had forgiven him (after much apologies) so why could he only think about you.

You and him would even text quite often (he’s the one always texting first) but even still that wasn’t enough to quench his unexplainable desire.

He doesn’t know what was taking over him, it was like he’s flipped. He was leaving his old habits behind, deciding to hit the gym more often, barely going out the way he used to, he even started to pay attention in lessons and participate in activities.

And anytime he did anything, he felt an urge to text you and let you know what he has been up to. There were times where he did text you but then there were times when he held back.

Tonight was not one of those nights, he decided to give in to the burning desire that desperately needed to get extinguished.

Sunghoon: You awake?

He impatiently watched, hoping for your response and he immediately piked when his phone pinged.

You: Why?

Sunghoon found himself smiling dumbfounded at your message, in that moment his smile slightly faltered as the realization hit him like a bucket of cold water.

Now he finally realized what the desire that burns in him meant.

Now you didn’t expect to see Sunghoon at your front doorstep, especially to catch him mid pep talk. He froze when he heard your door open and the two stared at each other for a moment before he straightened out his posture.

He awkwardly coughed at the silence, all thoughts and rationality he prepared went out the window as he just stared at you with wide eyes.

“Uh what are you doing here?” You asked him and his mind immediately went on overdrive

He continued to stay silent and stare at you. You looked around for a moment before softly nodding your head.

“Do you want to-“ Before you could even finish, Sunghoon easily cut you off

“I like you” That was more straightforward than he intended to say but he’s never confessed before, he’s new to this

You stared at Sunghoon flustered with his sudden confession, does he actually like you or is he toying with your feelings until he gets bored and moves on.

“I know this is out of nowhere and you have every right to question my intentions” He was aware of the reputation he made for himself but he was really praying it doesn’t affect him now

“But I promise you wholeheartedly that I am genuine about my words and my feelings, I really do like you”

“I’m not sure when I started to like you, but you started to consume every crevice in my mind. Everything that I did, I wondered what you would say about it”

“It was actually driving me insane because I never and I mean it ever felt that way before and I can’t lie I was nervous at first”

“I thought you would’ve brush me off after the project, that’s why I kept texting you. Something in me needed to know if there could be a possible us”

“This burning desire wouldn’t let me go from its grasp and the only way I figured to subside it was to tell you how I truly felt” Sunghoon finished his small rant and let out a heavy pant before nervously looking to see your reaction

You stared at him wide eyed as you proceed the information. The pounding of your heart clearly indicated something and you knew that very well.

With each passing second of no response from you, the more it kills him slowly.

“You like me?” Your voice was soft and this melted right through Sunghoon, how he underestimated the hold you had on him

He softly nodded his head and your heart finally exploded. All the times when your fingers fidgeted over your keyboard wanting to text him and he somehow read your mind and texted you first.

But there was a thought lingering at the back of your head. What if he was just saying this to get you to fall into the trap you couldn’t escape from.

“How come you didn’t fall for someone else?” It was too late for your mind to register that you accidentally voiced out your thought

You stumbled over your words trying to take back what you said and Sunghoon found it amusing, he made his way over to you. The loopy smile he had as he brought his mouth to your ear, his breath feathered over your ear making your body shiver.

“Because I am too busy being yours” Sunghoon whispered and those words sent a shock throughout your whole body

“Is this you crawling to me Sunghoon?” You teased and he chuckled at you response but nodded his head before facing back to you

“If you allow me, I’ll crawl back to you as many times as I have to in order to prove my feelings to you”

“Never thought, I would be the one to hear those words from you”

“Special words for a special person” Your smile began to grow and you couldn’t hold it back any longer

Seeing your smile made Sunghoon weak in his knees that he knew he had to make you smile every single day. You had Park Sunghoon wrapped around your fingers and neither expected the tables to turn.

The trap that Sunghoon had intended to have you fall into now consumed him instead of you. But truthfully speaking, he didn’t mind it because deep down he unconsciously knew he was yours from the start.

Ever since the beginning it seemed as if you and Sunghoon were never meant to get along the moment you both laid eyes upon each other. It was humorous that there was such high expectation that the two of you would become good friends.

Yet, the moment he opened his mouth all expectations of meeting him came crashing down. You were all for being confident with yourself but there was a borderline between confident and cocky.

And Sunghoon was far past that line to the point that he made his own line.

He was narcissistic rather than ‘confident’, saying how he could practically have everything at the grade of his fingertips, and how he was damn near ‘perfect’ meaning he could do wrong in the world which was more than enough to tick you off in the wrong way.

Sunghoon on the other hand didn’t like how quickly you were able to rebuttal every single sentence he said. He tried to put on a tight knit smile with every word that left your mouth, which were only direct stabs to his pride.

That moment, you and Sunghoon avoided each other like the plague, trying to minimize interactions to at least zero.

You didn’t want to associate with Sunghoon and he didn’t want to associate with you either. It was a win-win situation so, neither of you complained.

Yet, avoiding each other only lasted a week as you both were oblivious to the amount of mutuals you both shared.

Now, you were able to spot him in any and every crowd and he was able to say the same, and this was enough to have your eye twitch.

You were irked seeing him with every passing corner that you couldn’t practically stand to be in the same vicinity as him without getting annoyed.

Sunghoon wasn’t oblivious to this, seeing the rolling of your eyes everytime he spoke and the scoff you gave when he simply would breathe.

Sunghoon was getting fed up with you and your snarky remarks about him. If you had wanted to start this, he had no problem meeting you halfway.

He got under your skin terribly, he knew that and wasn’t afraid to use it to his advantage. Even though the two of you were supposed to despise each other, he sure made it difficult to unwrap him from your life.

You were in the comforts of your home up until your friends arrived unannounced and practically dragged you out to the middle of no where with no explanation whatsoever.

Now you were surrounded by people you have never seen before while your friends roamed around leaving you behind.

You were trying to make sense of where you were but with the sudden roar that blared in your ears was enough to have you closing your eyes shut from it.

When the sudden uproar of cheers from those around you, you finally opened your eyes and that was when you saw a crowd forming around with the sound of cars engines.

That was when it finally hit you that you were dragged to a race meet.

Now you weren’t oppose to these events but you never would have gone out of your way to attend one of these. So you already found your feet walking in the opposite direction to leave.

However, before you could even make it far, you ran into a person.

You apologized immediately as the person did the same but the familiarity in the voice was enough to have you silent and looking at the person.

The realization of Sunghoon right in front of you, you were about to scoff but you stopped as you took in his entire presence.

Instead of his usual casual but professional attire, you were met with a whole different side of him. The slight disheveled hair, the white shirt and black leather jacket combo. It was something straight out of a wild fansty you thought to never be true.

When your eyes met with his, you swore you saw the pure fear flash in his eyes before clearing his throat. Sunghoon’s eyes frantically moved around avoiding eye contact with you. You were stunned, the one that praised himself to be perfect was secretly a street racer at night.

“Perfect Park Sunghoon secretly a street racer at night, never expected that” Your words made Sunghoon tense up and you could feel the tension emitting from him

The menacing smile you had made Sunghoon actually shiver in his own skin as he gulped, already annoyed with the situation. Just why did he have to run into you here of all places.

“What do you want? Tell me and I’ll make it happen” Sunghoon wanted to keep up the facade of being unfazed by this encounter but with the slight change in tone you can tell he was eager

But the way he worded his response made you scoff at his words, the irritation only growing bigger by the second you’re in his presence.

“You think you can solve anything with the snap of your fingers? Hate to break it to you Park but that’s not how it works”

“I hate it when you call me Park, I have a name that you can use” You chuckled at his comment

“It’ll do you good if you drop your pride, it might help you get somewhere”

You could hear the sudden chants from the crowd. They wanted to race to start and they needed Sunghoon, their shining star in order to start.

They didn’t realize that Sunghoon was having a crisis now that his ‘life’ was practically at the palm of your hand.

“Wait for me until the race is done, then we can properly talk” You raised an eyebrow at him, wondering what made him think that you would comply

“Please”

Now you seemed to may have underestimated him.

You promised to not wait for him and yet, it’s practically a ghost town now and here you are still waiting for him to show. You grumbled to yourself for being so naive in believing Sunghoon’s words.

But, you were brought out of your thoughts with the calling of your name. You looked to see Sunghoon panting as if he ran like his life depended on it.

“Alright Park, talk”

“My offer stands, anything you want, I’ll give it to you” You tried to conceal a laugh but it almost slipped, clearly oblivious to what you meant

You simply nodded your head before waving goodbye to him and walking away. His footsteps shuffled towards you as he now stood in front of you again, stopping you from walking any further.

“Okay I get it, that was… obnoxious of me. Then what’s your proposal then?” The desperation pooling in his eyes made your mind falter just for a moment

Never once have you seen him like this, you smacked your tongue against your teeth before sighing heavily. You may not like Sunghoon but that didn’t mean you were going to hold it against him.

“Just forget it Park, I’ll make it seem like I never saw anything”

However, this didn’t ease Sunghoon’s fear. He took it as you brushing it off until you needed something, only making his heart rate grow faster.

Just as you were walking away, Sunghoon came rushing towards you once again causing you to get even more annoyed which you didn’t think to be possibly.

But Sunghoon was always full a surprises.

“Please just name your proposal, I don’t want to be in debt to you” You sighed deeply in order to maintain your peace before quickly thinking of something

“Just drive me home then”

You should’ve chosen anything else. You assumed since Sunghoon was a street racer, he would have a sense of direction, how wrong you were.

The two of you have been lost for the past 30 minutes because he simply couldn’t figure out where you live. You told him that you would set up the GPS to make it easier but you weren’t surprised when he didn’t allow it.

His pride was too high for him to use the GPS to figure out where you live.

Always saying ‘I got it’ or that he figured out only to get more lost down the road.

“How the heck do you manage to get lost as a street racer?” You grumbled under your breath leading to a very much felt twitch in his eye towards your remark

“Do you even know where we are right now?” Sunghoon made the car come to a sudden stop causing the whiplash to be much harsher than what he intended

For a moment, he felt scared that he may have gone too far and possibly hurt you. He parked the car and quickly turned his gaze to you only to see disbelief on your face.

That was enough to knock him out of his senses and wash the worry away before he stifled a chuckle before quickly covering his growing smile.

You merely glared at him before sinking back into the passenger seat, ignoring his efforts in trying to talk to you.

“Just use the GPS to get me home” You sighed looking out of the window, already having your patience running thin

“I said to take me home, where the hell are we?” You noticed that everything around you was completely different from the neighborhood you were used to

Sunghoon however paid no mind to your confusion as he turned off the car and motion for you to get out.

You stared bewildered as he got out the car closing the driver’s door behind him. You could see him walking away through the car window, as it took him a second to realize that you weren’t beside him.

He looked back to the car and realized that you were still in it and you could practically hear the loud scoff coming from him.

He walked back to the car before pulling your door open for you to step out.

“I thought you got the memo to get out of the car” Sunghoon sneered causing you to roll your eyes but still not move from the passenger seat

“Where are we Park?”

“We’re at my place, I have to get something quickly and then I’ll take you home” You raised your eyebrow at his words

“I can just stay in the car then” Sunghoon began laughing directly at your face as if you just told the funniest joke in the world

You stared at him blankly waiting for him to stop laughing. After what felt like hours of having to hear Sunghoon laugh, he returned his attention back to you, hiding back the smile on his face.

“You’re funny if you think I’m leaving you in my car”

“But you have no problem allowing me in your place” His sense of priorities threw you off but with the assurance of his nodding made you stare at him in disbelief

“In case you forgot, I’m a street racer” Sunghoon rested a hand ontop of his car before bringing his face dangerously close yours

Your breath hitched at the sudden change of distance between the two of you. In all the times you’ve been stuck with Sunghoon, you’ve never seen him this close before.

“I like my car to stay intact”

The scene that happened only ten minutes ago couldn’t leave your mind. Somehow by the time you came to your senses, you were already sitting on Sunghoon’s couch as he disappeared to look for whatever it was he was looking for.

His place decorated to the point where you could tell this is Sunghoon’s place just by a mere glance. His place wouldn’t expose that he was a street racer in the slightest.

You still tried to wrap your head around the fact of how the suppose ‘great’ and ‘perfect’ Sunghoon was a street racer at night. With each passing minute, there was still no sign of Sunghoon’s return.

You could hear him shuffling around with mutters of ‘where did I put it?’. You yawned as drowsiness was slowly taking over, your eyes lids becoming heavier with each passing second.

You told yourself you were just going to rest your eyes for a moment until Sunghoon was done and then you can fall asleep in the comfort of your own bed.

After a while, Sunghoon finally found what he was looking for. He walked to the living room where he expected to see you on your phone waiting for him but froze when he saw your state.

Your head dropping to the side as you were fast asleep. He slightly hissed as if he could feel just how uncomfortable you must’ve been sleeping.

He walked over to you ready to wake you up but when he caught a glimpse of the time, he stopped mid way. He felt bad having to wake you up this late in the night.

Sunghoon knew he was going to regret what he was going to do next but decided to push past his hatred for you and have his morality show.

He grabbed an extra pillow and blanket for you as he carefully guided your head onto pillow trying his best to not wake you up. He draped the blanket over you, making sure there weren’t any open spaces.

Sunghoon saw how you immediately melted comfortably on his couch. He looked to you a moment too long before quietly cleared his throat and turning off the lights so that he didn’t waste electricity, that was the only reason.

He was quick to go into his room and he didn’t come out after that.

Sunghoon wasn’t being mindful of you, never that. He was just accepting the circumstances (what he told himself) and did what any other person would do, especially for their enemy right?

When you woke up, you sat up as you lightly stretched, expecting to see the comforts of your room but when you realize you were no where near your room, you let out a loud yelp.

Sudden footsteps came rushing and there stood Sunghoon. He immediately looked to you, worried for a moment before replacing it with confusion.

“Why did you scream?” Sunghoon groaned as he rubbed his tired eyes to wake himself up even more

You took in his current appearance and for some reason your face itched to have a small smile of admiration. But you pushed that desire deep down your mind.

“You mean to tell me why I am here?” You could see how Sunghoon yawned before walking over to the kitchen

“Simple really, I didn’t want to drive all the way to your place that late at night. I deserve my beauty sleep”

You felt the irritation grow bigger and bigger as Sunghoon had a smirk plastered onto his face which he quickly removed confused with himself before going back to you.

“I’ll bring you home now. In the mean time don’t touch anything” Sunghoon gave a fake tight smile which you saw right through

You wondered why Sunghoon even let you spend the night when he didn’t even leave you alone in his car for a moment. Even he was beginning to wonder himself, just why has gotten into him?

For some reason, fate had Sunghoon lingering around you much more often. You tried to remain oblivious to his presence but you simply couldn’t, it was impossible to ignore him.

Sunghoon would easily appear next to you and no matter how hard you tried to brush him off, the more he stuck like glue to you.

You knew Sunghoon was aware of the mutual hatred. So why the hell was he still sticking to you.

“Sunghoon, what do you want?” You sighed not having to even look up from what you were doing to feel his presences in front of you

He smugly smirked as he placed a finger over his lips to shush you, making your eye twitch. He noticed this and it made his pride soar with the knowledge that every action he does will always affect to you.

He took the seat in front of you and you couldn’t bear him at the moment so you continued to focus on what you were doing.

Yet, not even a moment later you felt a piece of paper land onto your head before landing in front of you, you had to hold every single dignity in you to launch yourself at him.

You flicked the paper back not sparing a glance towards him or his crumbled up paper. You could hear his chuckle as you were once again met with the flick of paper against your head.

You slowly raised you to see him pointing towards it with his lip before plastering a sneezy smile. You knew you shouldn’t give him the satisfaction but you just wanted to be left alone. You unfolded the paper and froze as your eyes glommed over the 5 words written on it.

‘Wanna get out of here?’

The obvious answer should’ve been no, but why were you hesitating?

“Didn’t think you’d actually come” Sunghoon muttered, stopping at a red light, you didn’t think you’d actually go either but you excused it with the fact thag you were already planning on leaving and needed a ride

“Don’t think so highly of it, I just needed a ride” You told, looking out the window, oblivious to the secret glances Sunghoon took your way

Sunghoon smirked to himself before pressing hit foot against the gas pedal making his car roar loudly. You looked to him, confused but the moment the light turned green, it happened all too fast.

He sped down the street and you shrieked as you held onto anything you could find, you could hear his soft laugh fill your ears and after a moment the car finally slowed as your heart pounded against your chest.

“I hate you Park Sunghoon” You gulped trying to even out your heavy breath

“Are you sure about that?” You nodded your head, you hated him, you hate Park Sunghoon with a passion

But subconsciously you wondered, if you hate him so much. Why are you always with him?

You were more than confident that you despised Sunghoon. He kept getting under your skin and kept making you feel all sorts of emotions that drove you mad.

“Someone having to deal with you in the future? I’ll wish the best of luck towards them” You glared at him as he walked along side you but he didn’t seem to be affect by your glare in the slightest

“At least I’ll worry about having someone unlike you”

“You on the other hand, I feel bad for the person who has to end up with you in the future” Your shrugged your shoulders and turned your head to face him

The way the sunlight was hitting your face made his eyes widen in a realization that he would never voice out. Your smile that soon came up on your face had him frozen.

He awkwardly coughed before looking away and leaving you behind. Your calls towards him didn’t stop him as he continued to walk further and further away from you.

The fluttering of his chest didn’t sit right with him and he didn’t like it one bit. He realized the more he spent time with you, the more he was letting go of his pride.

You were his enemy, someone he hated. So why is he unconsciously letting go of his pride for you?

Sunghoon decided to clear his mind and what could a drive around the area not fix. His mind was clouded by the thought of you and he didn’t know how to get rid of it.

It was strange, one moment he was all over you then the next moment he was splashed with reality and he was gone.

He couldn’t even sleep at night without the constant reminder of your existence. You crowded his mind daily and now he was getting sick of it, how could he think about someone he’s supposed to hate constantly.

Something has to be wrong with him, there has to be. His pride wouldn’t allow to accept the obvious truth, so he stuck with the lie.

Park Sunghoon hates you and there was nothing more to that.

After what felt like driving for hours, he parked in front of a store. He examined it for a moment before deciding to occupy his mind even more. Sunghoon wandered into the store, looking through every aisle to see what caught his eye.

But his eyes caught you looking through all kinds of ointments with a box of bandages in hand. He was going to turn a blind eye but his mind was faster than his rationality.

He called out your name and he could see how you tensed up. You knew that voice anywhere and it just had be today of all places that Sunghoon finds you.

You walked away from the aisle, leaving Sunghoon all alone and he was bewildered. Even if you hated him, you would always at least have the decency to look at him but not even that.

He was supposed to be the one ignoring you, not the other way around. But even still, he didn’t listen to his own advice on ignoring you as he went after you.

It wasn’t hard for Sunghoon to catch up to you and the moment he did, he easily turned you around. A faint smirk on his face at the chase you gave him.

But his smirked fell the moment he saw the scratch across your cheek and he doesn’t know what took over him, but one moment he stared at you with wide eyes.

Then the next moment, he was softly cupping your face, catching you off guard. You tried to ignore the fast beating of your heart, but failed miserably.

“Who did this to you?” The tone of his voice made your whole body shiver, you shuttered lightly, trying to move your eyes away from him was impossible

“Who did this to you?” He repeated himself

You shook your head, hoping he’d buy it but Sunghoon knew you. Of course he did, how could he not know his “enemy”.

“I’m not going to ask again, who did this to you?” You tried to open your mouth to say anything but no words came out

All you could feel and hear was the pounding of your heart against your chest as Sunghoon’s gentle hold was gone as he grabbed the bandaids in your hand before walking away.

You stared at where Sunghoon was standing before looking to how he walked back the aisles. You went after him and saw him grabbing an ointment, he didn’t pay any mind to you before going to the register to pay for the items.

You appeared next to him to stop him but he was already carrying the bag and faintly grabbing onto your wrist to bring you out of the store. No words were exchanged between the two of you as his infamous car came into view.

When he opened the passenger door, he covered the top of his car to make sure you didn’t bump your head into it as he carefully guided you to sit down, facing him.

Sunghoon kneeled down onto the ground as he rummaged through the bag to grab the ointment and bandaids. You stared at him perplexed, never once has he done this before nor have you ever expected for him to do this especially for you.

He carefully put some ointment on his finger before looking to you.

“May I?” His voice faint that if you weren’t paying close attention to him, you would’ve missed it, you softly nodded your head

His finger came into contact with your cheek and you felt the same fluttering in your heart that you did when he cupped your cheeks.

The focus Sunghoon had as he put the ointment onto your cheek made your heart warm, he grabbed a bandaid before carefully placing it over the scratch.

He softly smiled before looking to your eyes and that was when both of you realized the moment you were in. Sunghoon saw the gaze you held and that made his heart unexpectedly full.

The night was only starting but it felt like something else was starting as well.

After that night, you and Sunghoon seemed to avoid each other all together. Unable to comprehend what either of you were feeling, you both silently agreed to steer clear of the other.

Whenever you saw Sunghoon around, your heart jumped but you forcefully pushed it down as turned the other way. You were oblivious to the lingering gaze from him whenever you walked away.

Sunghoon doesn’t remember the last time he’s spoken to you (it’s only been a week), but he was growing more irritable, the more time he spent without you.

He didn’t realize when you suddenly had such a power over him. At first he didn’t like it, saying how you unconsciously tried to get under his skin.

But, the more frequent the endless drives and sleepless nights became the more time he had to think to himself. He was conflicted, trying to make sense of his fluttering heart.

And after hard questioning (watching videos and google searches) he was brought the realization that he likes you.

He doesn’t know when he started to fall for you but what he did know was that he couldn’t hold it together anymore.

You were slowly becoming his whole existence and you weren’t talking nor even looking at him anymore. He considered himself foolish for liking you but he simply couldn’t help it.

You were walking out of your place with the expectations of your friends waiting for you. But to your surprise, you find Sunghoon waiting outside.

You immediately froze when you saw him. You had been trying to ignore him in hopes of getting rid of these blaring feelings that grew for him.

But seeing him standing outside your door made all your ‘hard work’ go down the drain in a flash. Your first thought was to run away, to go back into your place and act like you didn’t see him.

Now you knew the thought wasn’t good but in the heat of the moment that is exactly what you did. You turned a blind eye and went back into your place.

Sunghoon shocked that you still tried to avoid him even when he was right in front of you. He poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue before nodding, so that’s how it was going to be.

But luckily, Sunghoon never minded getting under your skin.

He quickly went to the door before you had the chance to fully close it and held it open with his foot. You noticed his foot peeking through and you looked up to him in disbelief.

“What are you doing?” You questioned and he easily smirked

“Getting your attention onto me”

It took everything in your power to not roll your eyes at him. You sighed heavily before nodding your head with a smile of acknowledgment as you tried to close the door.

But Sunghoon’s foot was still lodge in between, not moving in the slightest.

“Do I finally have your undivided attention?” Sunghoon raised an eyebrow and you knew you couldn’t keep ignoring him

You rolled your eyes, sighing defeat before opening your door fully. Sunghoon smirked at how you caved in as he straightened his posture and dusted off his clothes.

You closed the door the moment he took he retracted his foot and you thought you were successful but your door didn’t close fully once again.

You looked to see Sunghoon’s foot once again preventing your door from closing fully. You blinked a couple of times before realizing you weren’t escaping him this time.

You opened your door once again to Sunghoon’s smile never fell from his face. You stared at him trying to deny the beating of your heart.

“What Park?”

“Why are you ignoring me?” He decided to not waste any time

“Probably because I don’t want to see you” You raised an eyebrow at him and he chuckled at your words

“Oh that’s too bad because I want to see you” You looked to him confused, searching for any sign of him lying but there wasn’t a single sign

But you weren’t going to fall for this too easily. He may very well be messing with you only to get a reaction out of you.

Even though, it stings your heart at the thought of him messing around with something like this. Deep down, you wished for everything he’s doing to be true.

“You always like to get under my skin don’t you?” Sunghoon chuckled and nodded his head

“I find joy in it” You rolled your eyes at him feeling the bubbling of emotions in you, you don’t know whether these emotions were positive or negative ones but you were about to find out

“If that’s all you came to bother me with, I have plans to attend”

“The plans that I asked our friends to make so that you could come out and actually face me?” You stared at him in shock as you heard what he had done

“You did what Park? You used my friends?” You asked, your voice getting a little louder than you anticipated

“I didn’t use your friends, I asked our friends for a favor which they easily complied” Sunghoon shrugged his shoulders as you scoffed at him

“Always Park Sunghoon, feeling entitled to get anything he wants” When Sunghoon heard you, he felt a rise in him

“Well when you ignore and avoid me like the plague, you sort of run out of options on what to do” He defended his case and you only grew frustrated but not at him but instead at yourself

You knew Sunghoon meant well but you were getting frustrated with your own emotions that it was taking over your rationality.

Sunghoon was supposed to be the bane of your existence and yet here he was slowly becoming the center of it.

“Take the hint, I was avoiding you for a reason” You came off way harsher than you wanted to but that didn’t faze Sunghoon in the slightest

“Alright then what’s yours so good reason for avoiding me?” Sunghoon raised an eyebrow, folding his arms as he waited for you answer

You were stunned, your mouth opening and closing trying to gather words to form any kind of sentence. But nothing reasonable was forming in your mind and you decided to throw all rationality out the window.

“Because I realized that I’m starting to like you and it’s a problem!” You confessed as you heavily panted feeling a weight fall from your shoulders

You stared at Sunghoon, waiting for any type of reaction but all he did was stare you. Your heart pounded nervously waiting for anything from him.

Sunghoon on the other hand felt like he was soaring through cloud nine. Hearing your abrupt confession wasn’t something he planned but he’s beyond happy he experienced it.

“I don’t see how it’s a problem, I like you too” You quickly looked to Sunghoon who was already looking at you

“I think…Actually no, I know I like you way more than I’m supposed to”

“Every minute in a day, you’re on my mind like a broken record on repeat. At first, I was frustrated that you wouldn’t leave my mind”

“But as the days went on and the more time we were spent together. I began enjoying your company that I started to look forward to it the minute I open my eyes”

“That’s how I knew I was done for and then all of a sudden you’re ignoring me. How do you think that made me feel?”

“I felt like I lost something so valuable before it could even start!”

“I like you so much that it’s almost impossible for me to believe that I ever hated you at one point” Sunghoon’s angry rant finally finished as he swallowed down his heavy pants, he had let go of his pride in order to confess to you

You didn’t realize how your tension melted away and just how fast your heart fluttered. Sunghoon had liked you back.

“You dropped your pride in order to confess that?” You teased with a smile on your face, causing Sunghoon to laugh and he shook his head

Even after he poured his heart out, you still managed to tease him. He easily cupped your cheeks into his hands before brining his face close to yours.

“May I?” He whispered and you smirked to him

"Park Sunghoon dropping his pride for me huh? I think I can get used to this" Sunghoon smiled in amusement as you finally mentioned his name instead of only using his last name

“Finally using my name” Sunghoon pointed out and you realized you did before shaking your head

“Sorry, I meant to say-” You couldn’t finish your sentence as Sunghoon suddenly crashed his lips onto yours, it only lasted for a moment until he pulled away and whispered in your ear

“I like it better when you say my name” Sunghoon whispered before brining his lips back to yours to kiss you with a little more desperation than the first time

What felt like something unimaginable soon became reality as you melted into the kiss. Sunghoon held you like you were the only thing in the center of the universe (well to him, you were).

You smiled against the kiss as you could feel him deepening it. Never did you expect for anything to happen with Sunghoon, but as you’ve realized long ago.

He was full of surprises but now you didn’t mind them. You giggled in the kiss as he became to place kisses all over your face. Sunghoon smiled to himself hearing you.

He didn’t want his secret to get out of him being a street racer but he also never anticipated on ever falling for you, his enemy but you made it impossible not to. As he pulled away after planting one kiss last against your lips, he smiled at you.

Sunghoon wanted to show you off, you were his only pride from now on.
