“I think they may have been stoned that day. Well, Mick was out of his box. There was a lot of giggling going on. They weren’t a band I had much to do with, but this was a commission for Sounds in 1978. We wanted an unusual setting and came up with this bizarre sculpture exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery. As a photographer you’re in control of what you shoot but not what’s used and I don’t think these pictures were ever - certainly not the second one where Mick’s blowing his nose and Topper’s creased up with his hand on the Morris Man’s crotch.
