Women have made leaps and bounds over the past few decades. We have more opportunities available to us than ever before, and it’s amazing. BUT! It is still impossible to be a woman in politics.

I use the word impossible very intentionally, not meaning women can’t enter politics, but that they can’t be themselves once they get there. Once a woman reaches a prominent spot in politics the microscopes come out to examine every aspect of her response to every situation, and it has to be suffocating.

“Is she being emotional enough?”

“Is she being too emotional?”

“She is cold and unfeeling.”

“She’s crying? She must be weak.”

The funny thing about all of these sentences is that you could never imagine them with a male pronoun. This applies to Left, right, and center.

1. You don’t just quit when something gets hard, and you don’t run and hide if something embarrassing happens.

2. You stick around to clean up messes.

3. Figuring out where you need to make changes isn’t a sign of weakness.

4. Leadership means you take responsibility for things and don’t try to blame other people (even if it truly wasn’t all your fault).

That Gal Gadot has never ‘supported the Palestinian genocide’.

Does not have a rifle with the notch marks of all those she’s killed.

And has stated outright that she believes in coexistence.

She worked as a fitness instructor, never seeing combat during her mandatory stint in the Israeli army (IDF), and the only thing she said was that she wished luck to her former colleagues in the army (you know, the equivalent of ‘Support Our Troops’) and specifically wished them luck against (and condemned) Hamas, which is a terrorist organization.  Her tags then went on to note #stopterror and #coexistance.
