I've been doing a drabble challenge on AO3 that ends tomorrow. This picture is based on one chapter involving Boris (and Rei). It's my favourite out of all the prompts I've done.
Also, his clothes are based on old art I did last year. I will do more pics of him in those clothes. I will also do other characters because it's stupidly fun to just design clothes.

Gonna stop my MerMay art now. Had so much fun and did way more than I expected, but I can feel the carpal tunnel in my hand wanting to attack. For the characters I had planned (and the ones I was going to have to miss), I think I'll do them slowly over the coming years. Maybe. I want to at least do all the girls, haha, I got Ming-Ming, Mathilda, and Salima left to do (and Max coz I hate the one I did years ago and he needs a redo). Shark Mermaid~ Mariam had to be a shark >:D I've had her half complete for about a week now. Couldn't decide on how to do her tail. I considered not making her all scaly like my other mer pics, and then I remembered I made Ivan have scales even though he's an eel, so I buckled down and finished this lol

I love King and Queen. They have such fun designs! They did almost have opposite fins, etc, but it looked odd. And then I was about to add white/black markings, but Queen ended up looking like an orca. Not the worst thing, but not what I intended.

Day 12 of MayBlade and Mermay~
Emily is so very orange~ I wasn't going to give her glasses, but Emily doesn't look right without them. Let's just pretend she found them in a ship wreck and found they actually worked XD

After several days, Rei is finally done~ Thank you to people (on twitter and tumblr <3) who answered my worries over what I should colour him a few days ago. Tbh, I probably wouldn’t have tried so hard if I didn’t think people cared :D Anyways, my hand hurts from all the goddamn scales. I really need to find an easier way to do it but so far nothing blends as nicely as I want it. Same with the stripes. Each hand dotted so it looks right. But if I use certain texture brushes it just doesn’t have that scaly look I’m going for. Oh well. Sometimes we have to suffer for our art lololol

Finally finished him~ I wasn’t sure about the colours when I first put them down but they grew on me. They are meant to be very inspired by Dragoon, and also I didn’t want a fully blue piece. Would have blended with the water a little too much.
I had food and suddenly got the energy to colour this. His red hair was so annoying because everything else about him is blue and white and icey and then boom! Bright red hair. He’s legit the opposite of Kai lol

I tried to push myself with the colouring for this one. Wanted him to have an iridescent look to his tail. How it shifts from greys/blacks to more red tones. Not sure if I got it but I’m happy with what I did :D

I went a little over board with the gold X) Also, his tail is meant to be more black but it’s kind of grey. Tried to make it darker but lost the interesting shadows and such. Oh well, it don’t matter. Lee/Rai is looking pretty anyways.

What colour would Ralf/Robert's tail be? Here he is with bitbeast colours. His fins are vaguely similar, there just a couple more.
So yeah bitbeast, or I was thinking a wonderful purple like his hair.
