no one remembers stuff like that. they remember your kindness, your confidence, and your personality, and the sooner you realize that stuff like this happens and that people who judge you based on this typa stuff are shallow and stupid anyways, the happier you'll be.

but the most important part of this is that even after Chapter 40, when Genya tailors her and alters her very bone structure, she doesn't ask Genya to make her skinnier.

we know this because when Hanne helps her onto her horse in King of Scars, she asks "you don't like to skip meals, do you?" Nina replies, "Not if I can help it."

how many people, when faced with the option of completely changing their body shape / weight, would choose to remain exactly how they are?

—they pick a new last name that sounds good with both of their first names and potential baby names they might have in mind, symbolic of the start of their new life together.

—they decide which person has the coolest-sounding last name and they go with that one.

—they make a mash-up of their two last names (like a ship name kind of) and use that as their new last name.
