And after all of this, you can see that she might be destructive but she is also still capable of creating beauty (blue lights).

My idea is that Taylor is using the eclipse as a metaphor for what she’s trying to do on Reputation. Our first single came with “The old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now ‘cause she’s dead.” That is, the old Taylor has died, she has been replaced by a new one, and the media needs to stop inventing things, making her look like a “fool” or a monster (as we see in the music video for Ready for It just for a second before the camera turns around.

Because the real Taylor has never been this invention of the media. It’s a lie they need to create it to make money, and now she’s angry but she came back to save herself.

So here we got the both Taylors, face to face. Like it’s an ECLIPSE.

Once again, one confronted with the other. But not in a bad way. Let’s remember that an eclipse is a natural process of space, the planets are in continuous movement. Actually I see what she’s trying in the mv like this: in an eclipse one of the stars replaces the other. The new Taylor, this nude Taylor (this is the representation of Taylor being herself, she doesn’t need clothes, she has nothing to hide, she is not afraid anymore) will replace that old dark and monstruosity representation that the media created.
