Hyuse headcanons please? Or TK2 in general...
If you guys haven’t guessed yet, Hyuse is my favorite character in WT so I was absolutely delighted to get this request ! I didn’t know if they were romantic or general headcanons, so I’ll do general but if you meant romantic feel free to request again, of course.
(also, manga spoilers !) but who’s an anime-only in the WT community, honestly
Hyuse canonically cannot sleep on his back or on his side because of his horns, so I guess the beds in Aftokrator are adapted to this kind of condition. But on Earth, he just lies face down on the mattress or desperately tries to find a comfortable position without much success. The first night he spent at Tamakoma’s base he barely got some sleep, leading everyone to believe he was doing something suspicious.
He’s trying to learn kanjis but he didn’t tell anyone – especially not Jin, at the risk of being teased without mercy. He persuades himself it’s for strategic purposes, but really all he wants is to understand Meeden’s writing.
When he wants to walk outside in his real body and not in a trion one, he puts on a beanie he borrowed from Kyousuke. The two go along fine and are of the same age so Hyuse feels more comfortable asking him for things. This wasn’t always the case : at the beginning he was still irked by Kyousuke’s messing with him but he ended up learning how to know if he’s lying or not.
Stays up late to draw, most definitely. He lives in fear one of the members of the Tamakoma finds his sketchbook so he does his best to hide it. He mostly draws Aftokrator landscapes and animals, but these last few weeks, drawings of Earth and Tamakoma are getting more and more numerous. Hyuse’s got a really messy style and has yet to get used to earthly instruments.
It’s a secret for no one that he terribly misses his home. He regularly stares at the Neighborhood map he keeps in his earring as if he could teleport back to Aftokrator. Sometimes, Hyuse feels like a sailor stranded on an unknown island, before remembering that his teammates abandoned him.
Speaking of the devil – he’s got huge abandonment issues. As a child he was sold by his parents, and now Aftokrator doesn’t want him anymore. The Galopoula invasion and what happened with Reghindetz affected him more than he lets it show : now he knows that he’s considered as a compromised soldier and that if he returns, it won’t be easy. Hyuse doesn’t quite consider Tamakoma as his new home, but it’s without a doubt that he would feel even worse if they abandoned him in some way – even more now that he’s beginning to get attached to them.
Yotaro introduced him to video games but Hyuse always ends up losing due to his inexperience, which makes him very frustrated. If it was with someone else than Yotaro, he would probably snap but with the kid, he makes an extraordinary effort and swallows his pride.
Once he passed the entrance exam with flying colors and dueled so many Attackers in order to raise his points, Hyuse gained a lot of admirers, including some girls (and maybe boys) that are in awe at something else than just his combat skills. He’s mentioned as pretty handsome in the manga (I mean- duh) and added to his foreign looks – if he passes as Canadian, he mustn’t look very Japanese – a lot of agents steal glances his way. However, most of his admirers were discouraged by his cold demeanor.
To join Border and fight as an Attacker is the more fun Hyuse has had in a while. As a soldier, he wasn’t exactly allowed to enjoy his battles, only with the perspective of duty, but as a member of Tamakoma-2, he can now have fun and test new things without having to worry too much.
He has been gathering more and more knowledge of Earth customs, but he didn’t realize that being sold by your parents isn’t a common thing in Japan until recently. Tamakoma doesn’t know much about him, though : Hyuse isn’t exactly an open book.
Swears in Aftokratorian under his breath way too often. At first, the others were confused to why he was muttering strange things but one day Yuma looked at him like “That wasn’t very nice.” He does it more discreetly now.
Hyuse is said to like dogs : I have no idea if there are dogs on his home planet, but I can only imagine him trying to keep a straight face when he sees an adorable puppy. He has a reputation to keep, but…puppy…cute fur ball… So when no one’s watching, he finally gives in to the temptation and pets it, extremely paranoid someone will see him.
