that scene in season 2 when we think nina’s betrayed kaz is so accurate to the books (reminiscent of wylan’s “he gave them everything”), because it was another instance of “omg a plot twist that wasn’t orchestrated by kaz!” only to realize that it was, in fact, orchestrated by kaz.

I think that part of the reason why President Snow is such a well-written villain is because he genuinely never does lie to Katniss. When he says "let's agree to always tell each other the truth," the first time they meet, it not a line, he actually sticks to that. Like a villain who is both incredibly dangerous and and totally trustworthy? Just, openly trying to kill you and being completely upfront with you about it? That's so fucking fascinating to experience

katniss is so funny she’s like “oh i know i care about peeta but i don’t know if i love him” then they have to sedate her every time she thinks of peeta being tortured

no because katniss says “The way she almost stopped living when he [her father] died” about her mother and then said “They can pump whatever they want into my arm, but it takes more than that to keep a person going once she's lost the will to live” when peeta got taken by the capitol and i’m supposed to just be okay with that?
