they call it “sex work” to make it sound less demeaning, dehumanizing and dangerous than it is in reality. You’re not clocking into the night shift, you’re prostituting yourself out. You are putting yourself at risk of disease, violence and death. The mental and physical scarring in prostitution is an inevitability. Don’t call it sex work. It’s not work. It is a very sad, very desperate thing and so many prostitutes are trafficked and held against their will. Many are homeless. Many are addicts. Many end up as Jane does. Many are people that need actual genuine support systems to get them back into society and working as a functioning safe human being. Prostitution ruins people. Prostitution and child exploitation go hand in hand. The two intercross all the time. What do you think homeless/poor/addicted teenage girls are coerced into? Prostitution is evil in every sense, it is just another way for men to take what they want and degrade you while doing so. Stop calling it sex work. Those men aren’t “customers” they are vile pests. They get off on the fact that prostitutes aren’t protected, aren’t looked for and aren’t valued. The danger is apart of the appeal to these men.
