for the next several centuries, every heroic love interest who comes to rescue the cursed prince in any play or penny dreadful published in the north is going to be suspiciously dark haired and part-elven, with a roguish smile and an animal sidekick she saved as a cub. there will be tendencies in whitestone painters to portray beautiful women as having broad, toned shoulders for archery, and allusions to the Huntress found in the margins of portraits, in little figurines of bears and arrows. people are going to claim that they still see the spirit guardian of the woodlands patrol through the city late at night, still resuming her tenure as grandmistress, and they might even be telling the truth, some nights.

I used to want to save the world. To end war and bring peace to mankind. But then, I glimpsed the darkness that lives within their light. I learned that inside every one of them, there will always be both. The choice each must make for themselves - something no hero will ever defeat. And now I know…that only love can truly save the world. So I stay. I fight, and I give…for the world I know can be. This is my mission now. Forever.

ON CHARACTER LESSONS IN FEMINISM  

Kat Barrell: She’s (Nicole) very calm and kind, and I think she taught me that you don’t need to shy away from those traits just to assert yourself in that type of vocation or setting.

Kat: Barrell: For me especially, because my character is so closely tied with the LGBT community, I’ve seen how Nicole has empowered a lot of especially young women to come out, or have open conversations about their sexuality with their family.

Since the “all lives matter” bunch is busy marching chanting “Jews will not replace us”, “white lives matter”, “blood and soil” and other racist and xenophobic atrocities, I wanna take a moment to commemorate this brave woman. Heather Heyer was 32 years old. She was murdered while counter-protesting in Charlottesville.

Thank you for taking a stand, for fighting against racism and homophobia. You will not be forgotten.
