St Paul Sinners

I think I'm going to officially stop writing St Paul Sinners.  It's weird, I've been working on it for so long, but lately, it's been.....  I feel like I was doing it for all the wrong reasons.  This is not to say that I won't someday write something set in the thirties, but I suspect it won't be this story.  I didn't know what it was.  I maybe know what I needed it to be, and it was that for a long time.  But I feel like it was a crutch, and quite frankly, the broken leg (it's too early for proper metaphors) has healed.  I don't feel compelled to write it.   My word for the oneword challenge yesterday was literally "end," and I'm just going to take it as a sign.  Between Boardwalk Empire and the new Gangster Squad movie coming out, I suspect that there will be a lot more 1920's/30's stuff coming out, and I'm just going to enjoy them.  I haven't been keeping up because I didn't want to inadvertently copy someone.  But now I can just enjoy.   I feel a little sad that I didn't finish, but I've finished a lot of writing projects, and I feel (about St Paul Sinners) relieved about throwing in the towel.   It's weird.  I suspect I'll feel a bit weird about it for awhile.   If you desperately need to know what I had planned for my characters, let me know.  I'll reveal all.
