“now be honest with me tiago since i know you will be anyways.” she said plopping herself down next to him. “do you think we could all use a break from this studying, cause let’s be honest it sucks, and do something more fun. i mean i’m sure we can find something to drink here, i know you know where it is hidden. if not do you think a weird circus routine would cheer everyone up?”

“i have terrible...terrible news percy.” moving to couch down next to him as he sat in his chair. the billowing black fabric of her dress from her performance fluttering out around her as she made the quick movement. “percy....I LOST ALL THE PLATES THE FANS GAVE ME. DO YOU THINK THEY ARE STILL OKAY?”

“where were you before the attack?” amaya spoke up out of the quiet both of them had been happily sitting in. it was nice to having someone she could be totally comfortable with in silence yet also be comfortable within a loud and chaotic atmosphere she often found herself in. her foot nudging her friend next to her as she laid herself out on a couch. “you almost left me stuck with everyone else. can you imagine me stuck here with just them?”

“listen penny, were the smarty pants in class? because you might have to be here.” amaya said looking over the piles of book laid out in front of them. “honestly in the circus we didn’t really cover the whole research thing very well. so i have no idea what we are looking for.”

“Is the temple goth enough for you, kid, or do you think I can import more black marble when this is over? I can never tell if my followers were joking about leaning into this part of Hecate.”

“oh hmmmm.” amaya said taking a good look over everything around her. closing one eyes, getting down at a lower angel, then up against. another look then back to hecate. “nope. i think you did a wonderful job. too much black and then it becomes a little cliche don’t you think?”

a cloud of smoke swirled around amaya, as she frantically tried to wave her hands through it to get it to dissipate. “hey i didn’t think anyone was coming back to the room yet.” she said, smiling still trying to get rid of the smoke with another hand hidden behind her back. the room having been given to the gods to relax in if they needed a break away from the crowd of people.

“Child, I’d rather not clean up yet another mess, so please tell me that you’ve brought me nothing devastating, yes?” She keeps her eyes on the god, hands blurring as she carried on a conversation over text with someone else. “Tell me now.”

“what can’t i come visit you and not have it be something bad you have to fix? i cant just come visit my dear friend?” amaya smiled at her, maybe a little too sweet. “plus i have something for you.” she said placing down a small porcelin figureine of a old fashion woman sewing. “reminded me of you. so yup...that’s for you.” she said nudging it closer to her before lounging herself in the seat next to her.

Amaya was one of those gods, the rare ones at least that happened to appear after him. He supposes that it made Percival somewhat senior but it didn’t really suit him, not the mentoring anyway. “Hey there, lightning rod,” he greets, carting a frankly impressive amount of baggage, “You get here before I do?”

“percy!” the younger god smile, practically throwing the photos she was looking at to leap over the couch. was a hug maybe a bit too much? maybe but that wasn’t going to stop her. “i’ve been staying here for a bit now.” she shrugged. “you rob a store on the way over here?” she said motioning towards his luggage.
