I’m alive! I’m debating on whether to move Arthur to my the multimuse with the rest of my Red Dead characters, as it’d be fairly easy given things never really took off on this blog, but I feel he’d fit best on his own blog.

“Well, well, look who it is…prodigal son, finally crawlin’ back home! You been gone a while, friend. We was almost gettin’ used to not hearin’ your whinin’ all day long around here.”

          “I ain’t playin’ with you today, boy.”

          Without a moment’s hesitation, Arthur speedwalked up to Micah, slung an arm around his neck and threw the other man to the ground, before kicking him in the side of the head - hard. Immediately followed by another kick to the nether region. Sadie would be proud.

          Arthur approached, seemingly somewhat downtrodden, but he bore a small smile. The air about him was sign enough that he wasn’t there just to socialize. He had something important - at least, important to him - to talk to her about. Besides...he figured she could use a bit of a pick-me-up, what with all the trouble the gang had experienced those past few weeks. It was a bad scenario. Real bad. But that didn’t mean they couldn’t still act human.

          “Miss R-...Abigail. I know John ‘n’ I, we’ve had our differences. But, gah...” He looked away, shaking his head. He hated getting sappy like this. “Thank you, for takin’ care of the damn fool. Tryin’ to reason with him. Lord knows he needs it sometimes. Much of an idiot as he is, I do care ‘bout him. And you. Look...way things have been going...I don’t think we’re all gonna be around too much longer. If you three get the chance...”

          A glance back at Dutch, to make sure he was out of earshot, and then back to Abigail. A reaffirming hand was set on her shoulder, giving a gentle squeeze. A gesture of comfort.

          “You get out. Take John and Jack, and leave. Go as far from these damn Pinkertons as you can. ‘N don’t look back. Alright? You three deserve that much, at the least.”

Arthur once made an attempt to draw himself and John in extreme detail, in cool poses, but scrapped it because he couldn’t get John’s scars right. It wasn’t for lack of trying either; he really wanted to have something in his journal to show he and John weren’t at each other’s throats anymore. He tore all six pages out.

Somewhere out there is six pages of a half-drawn John Marston holding a Springfield Rifle. The last page has ‘I can’t do this’ written under John’s head, in unusually sloppy handwriting.
