Dorothy Stratten

Playboy model and actress, notably named Playmate of the Month for August 1979 and Playmate of the Year in 1980. Discovered by (total dirtbag) Paul Snider and later championed by Hugh Hefner, she rapidly rose to fame before her tragic murder in 1980 at age 20.

She was discovered in a Vancouver, Canada, Dairy Queen by Paul Snider in 1978.

After turning 18, she moved to Los Angeles, appeared in the August 1979 issue, and was selected as the 1980 Playmate of the Year.

Quickly became a favorite of Hugh Hefner, appearing in Playboy pictorials and gaining acting roles in films like Americathon and Galaxina.

While in the process of leaving her husband/manager, Paul Snider, she was murdered by him in August 1980, just as her career was peaking.
