love is not love without empathy.

when someone loves you, they naturally care about the things that are important to you, like your family, your interests. without that, they don't love you, they just want something you give them.

everyone is looking for the right partner, but few people are trying to be the right partner

a life partner needs to be a lot of things; needs to be financially responsible, healthy, supportive, needs to be able to support you through raising kids/illness and deaths of parents/whatever else life can throw at you like layoffs. but also this is someone you're going to be around every day, they need to be fun, get your routines and sense of humor. we ask a lot of people and few people understand that we have to put in a lot of work to be this person for them too
