Playing Life is Strange's ep3's midnight blackwell infiltration in 2026, I had Max look out of one of blackwell's windows at the dark moonlit trees outside, and it felt like the unfathomably vast, starry void an interstellar astronaut would see looking out from their spaceship on their way to...2026. The 13-year gap between now and 2013 felt - from the perspective of this one random liminal midnight at blackwell - every bit as vast as interstellar space. As though I was back inside a night that was now too distant to be defined by day, month or year, but simply its decade: the 2010s. And therefore a profound sense of escapism, like i'd managed to hide from 2026 within this one random point in the 2010s. And I was about as easy to find as a spaceship within the immensity of interstellar space.
Idk i hope I'm putting this well.
