View - how do your views (on the world, on society, etc.) affect your identity, especially your MOGAI identity?

I think our views affect a lot of our identity, honestly. We’re xenderless because of our neurodivergence, yes, but also because we have very strong views on gender as a social construct. We’re also aromantic and aplatonic because the way most of the world treats them as constant, necessary things tends to piss us off, which I think also contributes to us being platopunk. We present in a way that many people might interpret as being feminine (while we view it as masculine) because we believe presentation is SUCH a loose concept and depends so heavily on culture and personal identity that it’s basically just a wash.

Not to get Political, but we’re very progressive people, so pretty much all our identity is due to our beliefs that you should be able to do whatever you want forever and get as funky with yourself as you want to. We, collectively and individually, use a lot of contradictory labels and MOGAI labels because it doesn’t matter! You are what you make of yourself and no one else should be able to restrict you from that. (Obligatory mention that there probably IS nuance to this, I’m just trying to get a point across.)

Kal wants me to mention that he’s a villain and a misanthrope because he views humans as “inherently selfish and cruel creatures incapable of fully understanding the joy of life”. I…I fucking guess, man??? Holy cowabummer everyone boo and throw tomatoes at it (joking)

Unity - what are your feelings toward the MOGAI community? do you consider yourself part of it?

Generally, we think the MOGAI community is pretty nice. We love seeing all the hyperspecific labels and identities that people coin and we love seeing others use them. We especially love seeing BIPOC and other exclusive terms, they make us very happy.

We only somewhat consider ourselves to be actually *part* of the community. We’ve only coined, like, 20 things so far, and there’s still a lot of stuff we don’t understand and are scared to touch (alterous attraction…I want to coin but it’s intimidating…). Also, we just don’t know anything. We like to pretend we’re super Mature, but we just don’t have any grand thoughts on identity beyond “everything is made up”.

We have…something of a gripe with the MOGAI community, but honestly, it’s less an issue with specifically MOGAI and more just. The internet in general. We are not a child, we are rather close to becoming legally an adult, but being in big communities like MOGAI is just…a little scary? We’ve also noticed a bit of a trinary in a lot of spaces, which I won’t talk about more simply because we are. Really bad at criticizing things without somehow turning it around on ourselves. But we came into MOGAI (and LIOM, QAI, etc.) with the expectation that it would be like, a queer paradise, and we wouldn’t have to worry about the constant looming binary because we’d all agree that it was restricting and pointless and bigoted, but instead we found a lot of “The binary is old school, so look at our cool new trinary!”. Idk, we haven’t been here for that long so I can’t really elaborate more, but it’s a little disappointing.

UHHH I don’t wanna end this on a depressing note. We really like all the [x]symbol coinings recently, we’ve saved waaay too many in our drafts to make our own. Especially the one for AvPD (don’t remember what it’s called & too lazy to look)?? Ohhh boy we’re gonna go HAM on that one eventually.

We are so plural!! We are pluralmaxxing every day and we love it. We’ve always been plural, but we didn’t know it until a little over a year ago. Our belief is that our mind is simply more suited for plurality, which is why we were so damn miserable when we thought we were a singlet. Everything about us is affected by our plurality. I’m very tired and we had a rough day so I’m blanking on more specific examples, but trust and believe there is not a single thing about our identity untouched by our plurality. Our plurality saved our life, and we wouldn’t give it up for anything.

Family, Friends - what's your relationship with the concepts of friendship and family? are you out to your family and friends, if you have them?

I’m the worst person to answer this which is why I’m actually the best person to answer this.

I hate the concept of friendship. To an absolutely CARTOONISH degree do I despise friendship. We’re aplatonic as a whole, but I’m even more aplatonic and also friendship-averse. It takes up too much time, it’s too much work to maintain, it’s too easy to mess it up, and I just think it’s generally pointless. The only function it has for us is giving us attention from other people, but we don’t need friendship for that. If we need attention, we’ll talk amongst ourselves. We’re platopunk and we really want to live our life with as few friends as we possibly can. Absolutely none, if possible. I get genuinely uncomfortable when we have to call anyone our “friend” or when someone claims they’re our “friend”. We don’t want it and we don’t need it. There’s only one person I’ll begrudgingly say is our friend, but that’s because she’s not obnoxious about it and we’ve known her for a very long time.

For family, I’m a lot more tame. I was caedfamilial in my source due to a fuckton of exotrauma, and I’m mostly demifamilial now. I have better opinions on family, I think it’s actually a really sweet thing when it’s done right and not forced onto everything. I love my sister and I love my kids so much.

We’re out to basically all our “friends” as being queer, though it’s a bit of a watered down version. Most of our “friends” think we’re a trans man and maybe gay. Not accurate, but it’s better than them thinking we’re not queer. We’re out to the body’s mom as being genderless, though I think she somehow also got the idea we’re a trans man?? We’re not out to the body’s dad or anyone else in the body’s family. We’re not sure we want to deal with any of the repercussions that could come with outing ourselves. We’re a little iffy collectively when it comes to our familiality and generally we don’t feel any strong feelings about it, but we’re mostly worried about the trauma and grief that could come with the body’s family not reacting well.

NEUROXENDERLESS
