St. Nick

“are you sure?” dot asked. her eyebrows knit together as she helped him to his feet. “you’re going easy on me.” she countered when she noticed that he wasn’t really using her for help at all. “then again, maybe you have to. how tall are you anyway? you’re huge!” dot realized that this was the sort of brashness that had been getting her in trouble with her mother lately and paused. “sorry. you’re just tall. not like fat huge. in my defense, everyone is huge to me. i’m 5′1″ and could still fit in the juniors section if i wanted to.” she sighed, “but, seriously, you good? need help walking around to wherever you’re headed? i always did regret never earning that helping the elderly badge when i was younger.”

“Absolutely.” He said with a smile, standing up straight and dusting himself off before looking down at the girl. He let out a belly of a laugh, shaking his head. “Oh, trust me.. You don’t offend. I’m rather large. 6′5 to be exact.” He wasn’t the type of guy to be shy about his very large frame. He felt it meant he was just a gentle giant, and normally used it to his advantage when he needed to.He let out another laugh at her dig at his age, shaking his head. “Only thirty-three, not sure that’s considered elderly.”

Catra merely shrugged her shoulders. “Never claimed to be nice, now did I?” she asked before taking a step around him, eyeing the man up and down. “Yeah, well I wouldn’t have fallen in the first place.” God she hated these types of better than thou types. It was like the whole island was filled with them.

“No, but you shouldn’t be blatantly mean either.” He comment through Nicholas off for a second, making him laugh before he realize she wasn’t laughing. “Wait... Do you honestly think people fall on purpose? Because that kind of thing just... happens.” 

“Russia?” She asked with raised brows. “Well then you should be a professional at this whole walking around in the winter. I’ll let you slide with the new feet though.” Extending a hand towards him, she kept a cheeky grin on her features. “Paula, it’s a pleasure to meet you Nicholas. We should.. probably get you off the ice before you go tumbling again.” 

Laughing softly, the male nodded. "You would think that was the case, but as it turns out.. Not so much." He said, scratching the back of his neck as he felt his cheeks flush a little. Of course today of all days he'd embrass himself. He smiled, before nodding his head. “Well, there is a cute little place down the way.. if you’re hungry?”

Watching the man fall, Catra couldn’t help but let out a loud snort of a laugh. “Ha!” She should probably offer a hand to help him up, but instead she simply took a step closer and stared down at him. “I have no clue what that means, but thanks for making my day there, dumbass.” And here she had thought nothing good was going to come out of this trip into town.

Nicholas furrowed his eyebrows at the girl, unable to help how put off he was by her comment. “Well, that’s not very nice.” He muttered, accent thick as he stood up, before looking at her fully. “Had I seen you fall, I would have at the very least asked if you were okay.” He somewhat huffed. It was always such a foreign concept to him that people didn’t like to look out for each other. 

Paula pulled her scarf around her a little tighter as she made her way towards work. Shivering to herself just a bit as she finally started to feel winter creeping in. Last thing she thought she would see would be a building falling over right in front of her. But was she watched the tragic event, she didn’t miss the features of the stranger either. Making her way over she extended a hand. “New to the ice?” She teased. 

Looking up at the woman, Nicholas smiled, shaking his head as he took her hand. “Not at all. I’m from Russian, and there’s nothing but Ice there, especially this time of year.” He noted with a small laugh as he stood up. “Guess I’m just new to these feet.” He hummed, before really noticing her. She looked like the type of girl that was suppose to be on a magazine cover, and that didn’t go unnoticed by Nicholas. “Oh, where are my manners. I’m Nicholas. And you are?”

despite having watched the grown ass man fall on his ass in front of her, dot still couldn’t quite place what had come out of his mouth. “bless you?” dot looked down at him and held out her hand. “um… you good, dude?”

Nicholas looked up at the woman with a confused expression on his face. “Huh?” He asked curiously, not understanding why she said bless you. “I’m fine, thanks.” He hummed, taking her hand, while using his other to help get him to his feet, not wanting to worry about pulling her down with him. “Just lost my footing, I guess.”

Jack was window looking when he looked up from the display to see Nicholas. Watching, he couldn’t stop the snort from escaping “I know I know, I’m stunning but at least hold yourself together.” Jack teased as he walked towards Nicholas.

The man couldn’t help but roll his eyes, smiling all the while. “Sorry, I was just so stunned by how truly ugly you are.” He laughed, standing up and dusting himself off. “Kidding, of course.” He hummed, looking over at the boy. “Shouldn’t you be in school or something?”

Dash was just coming out of one of his favorite stores, new Luigi’s Mansion in hand, when this huge dude went and landed on his ass right out in public. Dash heard himself give a little laugh at first, but then the manners his parents raised him to have managed to kick in, and he crouched next to the guy. “You good? I’d offer to help you up but.” Dash wasn’t built like his dad.

Nicholas looked up at the voice, before shaking his head. “No, no. I am fine.” He said quickly, hoping up from the ground. “Just a clumsy man.” He admitted with a belly laugh. For such a broad and large man, you would think he was better on his feet. “It’s the thought that counts, anyway.” Nicholas noted with a smile.
