Walt Disney Animation Studios Spells First Look To "Hexed", Adds Hailee Steinfeld And Rashida Jones As Leads.

Life can sometimes be magical. ✨ Walt Disney Animation Studios has unveiled some details on it's upcoming animated feature film "Hexed with the biggest reveal of all, it starred a teenager girl the whole time.

The studio announced that Hailee Steinfeld (Sony Pictures Animation "Spiderman Into The Spiderverse" franchise) is Billie while Rashida Jones (Netlifx "Black Mirror", SPA "Klaus") is Alice.

Hexed follows Billie and her Type-A mom Alice as they discover that what makes her unusual might just be magical powers that will turn their lives and a secret world of magic, upside down. During Disney’s CinemaCon presentation, we saw Billie getting a personality test / interrogation by a book and quill, speaking in British accents, who invite her into a a world of magic and wonder.

The literal only similarities I can see are,

"Girl with magical powers goes to a magical world."

The OH doesn't have a copyright on that concept. And I'm already sick and tired of people already hating on Hexed.

What, am I supposed to be excited about Shrek 5???? Don't get me started on that...

And I'm gonna be honest, but I found The Owl House very annoying. Particularly it's lead character.

No hate to any actors, creators or anyone else who loves the show. I'm just being honest.

I'm very excited to see Hexed in theaters. And I'm hoping it proves many naysayers wrong.

Now that it's revealed that the main character of the upcoming Disney movie: Hexed was changed from a boy to a girl... and that she has a mom whom she will bond with...

Why do I get the feeling some Owl House fans are really gonna go berserk on the makers of the film just because of that?

Still, this doesn't mean that you should harass the creator or the production crew of Hexed. I mean, I'm not even sure if they even heard of The Owl House. Also, don't bombard Dana Terrace with letters that go something like: "Hey, Dana, not only did they screw you over by cutting The Owl House short, but now they're flat-out ripping it off! Now you have more reasons to rip them apart on Knights of Guinevere!"

Also, what makes you so sure that this movie will be a blatant copy of TOH (other than the main character is a girl and that she has a mom she will bond with, just like Luz and Camila, and that they will both end up in a magical world)? I mean, sure, there might still be a loveable animal-esque sidekick, like King, but how do we know that just like Luz, the main girl will also get a Punk Witch for a mentor (like Eda) or a girlfriend (like Amity)?

And considering Disney movies of recent years, the movie might not even have a villain at all either...

And besides: Dana was not the first to create a story about a kid entering a magical world (nor was the Wicked Witch of Hogwarts!). That concept has been done before.

Me, I'm still looking forward to Hexed, and I want to see how it turns out.

The point is: yes, it's true that just like The Owl House, Hexed will have a girl for a main character and that she will enter a magical world with her mom, but other than that, we know NOTHING about this movie! I mean, there isn't even a trailer yet!

Walt Disney Animation Studios Conjures First Trailer and Magical Images For "Hexed".

The first trailer and poster for Walt Disney Animation Studios "Hexed" have poofed into existence! The original story, a magical coming-of-age adventure. The film is Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 65th animated feature and will arrive in theaters on November 25.

Joining previously announced voice cast members Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones . Seven-time Emmy Award winner Tracey Ullman (The Tracey Ullman Show, Tracey Takes On…, Bullets Over Broadway, Robin Hood: Men in Tights), who voices the enchanted feather quill pen Ms. Quill, and Stephen Fry (The Interrogator, The Hobbit trilogy, Gosford Park, Jeeves and Wooster, V for Vendetta) as the magical journal Elias Quire.

"Hexed" introduces the impulsive and unconventional teenage girl Billie (Steinfeld) and her cautious mother Alice (Jones). When Billie accidentally unleashes secret magical abilities, she’s hurtled out of suburbia and into a magical realm called Hexe, where she’s greeted by Ms. Quill (Ullman) and Elias Quire (Fry). As Billie’s spectacle-filled journey unfolds, she discovers family mysteries that could change the magical world of witches forever.
