see, i thought i'd sleep much better here because of how quiet it is, but it seems like the opposite is true. my brain has gotten used to all the noise, i suppose. and it does, actually! it has all kinds of city noises — traffic, sirens and even street musicians!

Well that I definitely can understand, it's funny how sometimes it actually can be too quiet when you're used to something more noisy. I guess you can get rewired that way or something? But I hope you'll get used to it again soon.

I'm so happy to see you back and get to have the time to catch up. I can't say that the idea of Lima Bean and Breadstix is an exciting place to come back to but I guess the nostalgia aspect helps with being back, for sure.

Aw, thanks Quinn, I'm glad we can hopefully get that time to catch up too. How have you been? Nah, maybe they don't top anybody's list for excitement but there's something nice about familiar at least. Nostalgia definitely helps too, especially if nostalgia is garlic flavoured.

Maybe I could do some doodling on them to make them more aesthetically pleasing. Right now I'm staying with my mom and her fiancé and his kiddos. But hopefully it's only a matter of time before I can save up for my own place. At least the rent is cheaper here than in LA.

Parents jetted me off to visit family in Florida - not half as exciting as it sounds, believe me. Spent most of it avoiding them on the beach, and that was the only highlight worth speaking about.

is anyone else having a hard time getting used to how quiet ohio is? i knew that moving back would be a bit of a culture shock, but i wasn't expecting that, of all things, the quiet would be what keeps me up at night. thankfully, central lima isn't as bad as westerville, where i spent my first two weeks back, but it's not exactly new york city either. fingers crossed the ambient sounds app i just downloaded does the trick tonight.

I mean, is there anywhere in the world quieter than Ohio? Other than a stray cat or two you're definitely going to get a much more peaceful sleep than New York I'm guessing. That's cool, but does the app have anything that'll make you think it's NYC outside? Lots of cars honking?

Should I even bother unpacking my boxes for now or just use them as furniture and dig out the necessities until I have my own place? Any bets on how long that could last? The idea of having to pack them all up (again) and haul them to a new place (again) in probably a few months makes me want to cry.

I feel like you can't go wrong with a cardboard box coffee table or nightstand, but that might not match your taste. I'm all for getting your own place, where are you staying now though?

But on the topic of all that, tell me who is down for some birthday bash fun. Because I’ve been back for five minutes and am already craving the need to go clubbing to refresh my memory on just how depressing this place is compared to everywhere else I got to see this past week.

you know, it's been so long since i've been back home that somehow i'd almost managed to forget the sense of "style" around here -- suppressed memories, i guess. but, hey- on the bright side, since fashion is so often cyclical, maybe it won't be too long before everyone's trendy again. at this point, might as well just give up and wait a bit, instead of trying to catch up from so far back. ...no shade. ...to some of you. anyway... is there anything new around here? catch me up, i desperately need a distraction from the image seared into my brain of the jeans i saw on this guy at the mall yesterday.

I hope by style you aren't knocking plaid shirts and hoodies, because those never go out of style, dude. Plus they go with just about everything, and by everything I mean jeans.. I know I've been gone a while, but stuff like that never goes out of style.
