stevie novo the rain is falling, it's after dark
the streets are swimmin' with the sharks
it's the right night for the wrong company and there ain't nothin' 'round here to look at
was that stevie novo i saw by the lighthouse today? i heard that the twenty-eight year old who has been in nightrest for thirteen years and works as a waitress at câs shanty has a reputation of being curious, but also unpredictable. they reside in fog gate & people in town usually associate them with carrying at least one crystal and a tarot deck at all times, jumping fences and picking locks, red bull cans littering the floor of her corolla. letâs hope the killer doesnât go after them next.

little bayou baby. originally from just outside new orleans, but sheâs been in nightrest since she was 15.
her dad is a semi-successful author (read: one very successful crime novel, and a whole lot of less successful follow-ups.), her mother was a fortune teller/ aura reader. so basically they grew up with no money all the time. the whole fam packed up and moved to the massachusetts when her mom passed away.
she takes after her mother, she believes in everything a little bit. real passionate about ghost hunting, carries a pack of tarot cards with her at almost all times, has a theory that bigfoot maybe be in new england because she heard a weird noise literally once.Â
runs on caffeine and bad ideas. starts roughly 30 percent of her conversations with âbut what ifâŚâ

a small yawn escaping her lips, she took a sip of the coffee she had on the table. Â with her laptop open, she scrolled through all of the photoâs she had taken while there. âitâs nice being back, sort of. but i miss being in kyoto. the capsule hotel i stayed at was amazing.â she noted. sure, she could have stayed with her grandparents but she was fine with where she stayed. it was a great hotel over all. from the room, to the amenities they offered. â i did get some nice photoâs there though.â Â pulling up the page of photoâs she took, she soon enough turned her laptop around to let the other look at them.
before it was even properly offered, stevie was already angling herself halfway out of her chair to look through the pictures. "holy shit, maya, these look like postcards," she hummed, resisting the urge to pull the laptop even closer â the ongoing battle to admit she needed glasses was one stevie was quickly losing, though she was nowhere near admitting defeat. "tell me everything. i drove for an hour and considered it a vacation. something's deeply fucked up about that, and i won't unpack whatever it is. so hearing about your vacation's gotta count."

âi promise iâll come back this summer. okay? i have to go now. talk to you later.â she spoke before hanging up from the call she was on. Â she missed her friends and family in scotland. more than anything if she was being honest. placing her phone down, she picked her coffee up before taking a sip from it. âsorry about that. â she replied. she didnât expect for her cousin to even call. especially since it hadnât been that long since she left. âwhat were you saying though before she called?â she asked, raising an eyebrow. she really did feel bad about that. having to take the call. Â especially seeing as the other had been talking before.
"oh, i was making like, a really important confession. once in a lifetime. but, the moment's passed," she sighed, only managing to wait half a second before a grin tugged at the corners of her lips. "don't worry about it. seriously, if i ignore a family call, there's like a 50/50 shot it ends in a wellness check. i left my phone at home before a shift and came back the half the police department at my place because my dad was sure i was dead," she said, eyes widening at the tail end as she realized that the fear was, after all, entirely valid. gracelessly, stevie attempted a recovery, sitting up straighter in her seat. "everything okay? the call, i mean?" she asked, nodding vaguely toward brianna's phone.
