like Stiles remembering that Derek prefers juice over soda, specifically the martinelli brand, and buys two whole cases of the glass bottles. yeah, it’s expensive but Stiles wants to buy it for Derek anyways.

or Derek knowing that Stiles only gets good rest if Stiles has his personal pillow. so on the nights Stiles says he’s sleeping over at the loft, Derek makes sure to swing by Stiles’ place and pick up his pillow before Stiles comes over.

there are times when the pack forgets that Derek doesn’t like certain pizza toppings or don’t bother to ask, but Stiles remembers. so he’ll take his time meticulously peeling every mushroom off of a few slices of pizza before offering the plate to Derek.

Derek pays attention to every little thing Stiles talks about, takes in every detail, observes whatever it is Stiles’ eye lingers on for longer than a few seconds. so the next time they’re together, Derek surprises Stiles with that book he talked about for a few minutes that one day, he restocks that toothpaste that Stiles said he liked, he buys Stiles that one jacket he eyed before passing it up.

and Stiles tries to do the same even tho he’s not made of money. if he can’t afford it, he buys a dupe until he can replace it with the original. like maybe a pair of boots Derek had in his wishlist that he was waiting to buy til his birthday; Stiles buys him a pair of lookalikes that had rave reviews about being just as good as the originals and when Derek’s birthday does come around, Stiles gifts Derek the original pair of boots. Stiles making a pdf file of a rare bestiary until he can afford to outbid some guy on ebay.

When he ended Paige's suffering, the night Laura died, the Hale fire, the day they left Peter behind. All the Hale family birthdays and wedding anniversaries and all those little moments you'd celebrate together.

Stiles asks Peter about what holidays the Hale family celebrated, did they do big commercial holidays or were they more focused on werewolf type holidays. (Lots of fics have different celebrations for different moons)

Stiles knows which days or weeks are going to make Derek moodier and more prone to snap at others. Takes him a whole to realize Derek tends to hide himself away around the time he first met Kate.

Derek is there when Stiles needs to be able to talk about his mother, and the day she died & her birthday and his parents wedding anniversary.
