Autumn Massaquoi, a 17-year-old Instagram user, going by the username beautifulness87 has got the Internet going crazy in a recent Instagram challenge.

The London-based artist started the #StyleChallenge, asking artists from around the world to transform self-portraits into their favorite cartoon shows as they see fit.

The challenge has gone viral since.

Somali artist Semira Wale decided to do a quick hijabi version of her favorite characters including the Simpsons, Powerpuff Girls and many others.

Pascal ZoghbiShe created the Arabic version of Neue Helvetica and Zapfino too.

Considering there has been a shortage of visually attractive Arabic fonts, many type designers are looking to change that.

Bringing Arabic typography into the digital age, these designers are definitely carving the way for custom-made beautiful Arabic fonts.

Nadine Chahine

Drawing Arabic letters for a living, Chahine has been creatively changing Arabic typography for years now. Recognized as Fast Company’s Most Creative People 2012 winner, Chahine is actively looking to adopt Western fonts for an Arabic-speaking audience.

She created the Arabic version of Neue Helvetica and Zapfino too.

Pascal Zoghbi

Having founded 29Letters in 2006, Zoghbi has an undying passion for typography, teaching in schools all across Lebanon. He co-authored and edited the “Arabic Grafitti” book in 2010 and was one of the 10 finalists for the Jameel Prize 3 in 2014.

Back in 2009, Dubai unveiled plans to build six islands in what is called The Heart of Europe. The development will represent fifty-one European countries, giving people in the emirate a chance to experience a European trip, minus the traveling.

Although the plans for the project have been around for quite some time, phase one of the project will be completed by the end of 2016, with the rest finishing up by 2020.

Lebanese NGO KAFA has long been fighting to change Article 9 of the Lebanese Constitution, which gives religious authorities the freedom to impose their own laws on various issues including marriage, divorce and child custody.

Back in 2015, KAFA launched its Child Marriage stunt, a campaign raising awareness on the lack of a unified civil personal status laws, featuring a video of a minor taking wedding photos with a man three times her age in a public space. The campaign revealed the reactions of the people on the street.

KAFA is back, with a new campaign, “Raise The Age” which aims to fight against child brides once again.

More than 89 percent of young refugees are in despair from their reality, preoccupied with anxiety and fear all the time, according to a study released by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in 2014. Moreover, 17 percent of young refugees have thought “often” about suicide while 24 percent have thought about it “sometimes.”

Another survey conducted fall of 2014 by Save the Children found that 41 percent of Syrians in Lebanon between the ages of 15 and 24 have contemplated suicide.

There are a few organizations that focus on mental health programs specifically catered to refugees suffering from depression, trauma, anxiety or suicidal thoughts.

International Medical Corps

Having started operations in 2006 in Lebanon, the global humanitarian organization assists the more than 1 million Syrian refugees in the country with health care, health education, mental health and psycho-social services to both refugees and the Lebanese.
