"Who am I to become, Q?"

Why didn't Vash come back to be with Picard after she'd left with Q at the end of Qpid?

We see her and Q on DS9. At the end of the episode, she decides it's the end of their intergalactic road trip and dumps him.

And canonically, she doesn't seek out Picard ever again.

And here we all thought she cared.

Here's what we do know:

--Q convinced her to leave with him in order to get him away from Picard. Q was peak jealousy in this episode, and make no mistake.

I mean, really! Q is so lonely that he wants a travel buddy? Of ALL people he could've chosen, too.

He chose the would-be girlfriend of the mortal man he desperately loves and is obsessed with.

--But, when all is said and done in Q-Less, she definitely chooses to stay away from Picard. She never returns!

But, why?

--We know that Q kept bringing up Picard in his conversations with her and everyone else, comparing everyone to him and how clever he was.

"I'm not Picard!"

"Turn a clever phrase" and all that.

--It's because Vash KNEW that Q was madly in love with him. She had to have known. If she never saw that, she desperately needed an optometrist.

But here's the catch: She also knew that Q wouldn't put up with her returning to him.

She must've felt how much Q wanted Picard all along, and honestly, who's going to compete with an omnipotent being, like Q?

What chance would she or anyone have against a being who could wreak total chaos and havoc in their life if you tried to get with the one person the being wanted and cherished the most in all of Matter, Time, and Existence?

Vash never coming back to Picard makes total sense.

And this is another reason why Star Trek Picard absolutely tears at my heart when Q sacrifices himself in the end, so that his beloved Jean-Luc can have a chance to be loved by someone else and not die alone.

This is how I feel when I don't see a lot of Qcard stuff lately.
