BG3 has caused me to neglect Starfield and our beloved Chairwoman, so I'm back with an ask.
I know you've mentioned in the past that Sarah most definitely had a crush on Aja way back when, and I'm curious about that relationship within your own fic! And Jade, too - I'm sure you've got plans so don't spoil any, but I'm curious about how Jade feels about Aja beyond what we do see in Stellar Collision.
I remember the one line Sarah says during one of her convos: "You have to understand, once Aja retired, I lost the only person who gave a damn."
I have to wonder just what she meant by this - how close were they, exactly? Did Sarah open up to Aja like she does to us? It is very hmmm.

Well, I think Sarah’s relationship to Aja parallels Jade’s relationship to Sarah, to an extent. They’re both incredibly close to Sarah, it’s just that Sarah and Aja maintained a sense of friendship and professionalism over indulging themselves, while Jade…didn’t lmao.
Sarah mentions Aja is more like family to her- that’s the case now, but I’m sure she had a raging crush on her at the time. (Jade didn’t need to know that at that particular moment anyway 😅).
Aja’s career is impressive and exactly the type of inspiration Sarah needed. So there’s a fair bit of idolization there. The way she talks about Aja makes it plain to see- this woman has her respect, her loyalty, and they have a history together. She was Sarah’s mentor and confidant- much like Sarah is Jade’s now. Sarah then wasn’t the same Sarah we know now- but I think Aja was privy to her pain. I don’t think she got as close as Jade did- (Jade was successful due to her perseverance and general pestering).
But Sarah and Aja are both strait laced and by-the-book types, though I imagine Sarah was more rambunctious earlier on. Still, I think that’s why their relationship never really took off romantically. Jade is the difference, here- it’s her rebellious nature and spontaneity that wins Sarah for her. If she didn’t have the audacity she did, she and Sarah never would have admitted their feelings for each other.
Jade is young. She can be a bit foolish. (Understatement of the year). I think she regards Aja with a healthy dose of jealousy, initially. She can tell Sarah used to fawn over her, she’s not oblivious 😅. Aja is accomplished, she’s on the right side of the law, and she’s older than Sarah. Maximum threat to Jade’s ego right there. 🫠
More than that, though, I think Jade might be jealous because Aja got to see Sarah in her formative years. She would obviously respect Aja for all she’s done, but…it’s Jade, so initially she’d be a little guarded towards the woman who was there before her. Really, I think Aja would be endlessly amused with Jade. It’s like having a young Sarah all over again, except this one is a true hellion. She would LOVE to watch Sarah pulling her hair out arguing with this young spitfire. And she would probably die laughing when she realizes Sarah is in love with this absolute idiot. 😊
