My bf and i are in a mr penguin situation rn LOOOL

in my bfs bathroom there is a vent behind some see metal see through mesh, n pigeons always chilled on the ledge of it in the mornings only making noise. They would always leave tho. But a couple months ago my bf started hearing bby tweets, turns out a pigeon had NESTED and had babies inside, right near our side of the vent. We loved it, it was cute. We think they grew up and left eventually dk?

then we went to the US for 2 weeks n came bk, came bk n it was super hot in the apartment. i was finding these tinyyy bugs on me, did my research n Google say it’s bird mites that come from abandoned nests. So i’m like ok we need to get that nest cleaned ASAAAAAP.

But then…

Every Time I go to the bathroom I see this lil bird chilling. It looks like an adult but it tweets like a baby bird. It’s always alone. Babybirds don’t usually return to their nest apparently but idk i feel like it’s one of the previous babies that comes back. Every Time I shower im looking at it like 🥺 I start making noises to it n it’s responding kinda looking at me. Few days goes by, this birds still here. At night I see it sleeping so peace fully and in the morning I hear it waking up moving around. 🥺 it feels safe here

So now we already made the request to sort the bird nest out, but now i feel bad. I say to my bf hmmm i didn’t see any bird mites since, maybe it’s just cuz the apartment was so hot. Maybe we should see how it goes w dis bird, but he’s like hell nah

Then I leave bk to the UK, he tells me he was in the bathroom looking at the bird like « sigh…u do deserve a home 🫩 »
