If anything becomes more fundamental than God to your happiness, meaning in life, and identity, then it is an idol.

Even if you’re unemployed, even if you’re taking time off from school, even if nobody is calling and making plans with you, get out of bed, take a shower, put on clean clothes, wear some cologne or perfume, turn all the lights on, do some laundry, clean up a little bit. 

For the most of us, God allow us to be confronted with so much failures in our prayer life, failures in our ability to read the Word and understand it, failures in our preaching, failures in everywhere so in the end we reach a point where we say ‘O God, who do I have in heaven but You? Who do I have on earth but You?’ And then He begins a work in our lives and in our hearts.

Get alone with God and preach His Word into your mind until your heart sings with confidence that you are new and cared for.
