most of these stories start through percy getting “betrayed.” how does he get betrayed? well sometimes it starts off with the seven getting godhood and percy refusing. yes, this means even annabeth chooses godhood, but usually this is just the prequel.

most of the time, the way percy is betrayed is through a demigod child of poseidon coming to camp and beginning to make percy look bad. like making percy’s friends hate him, making the gods hate him, all the works.

this comes to a breaking point when percy sees annabeth kissing said child of poseidon, to which percy gets “betrayed.” also most of these fics kill sally and paul. that sucks.

this is the point in most stories where chaos swoops in and makes percy his champion/son. basically giving him immortality and a bunch of perks.

sometimes, chaos doesn’t show up at this point. in that case, it’s usually another god who doesn’t hate him that takes percy under their wing, like hestia.

a lot of stories then take percy into space, which if chaos didn’t make percy his champion before, he does it now. usually percy takes up some greek name like omega or alpha, but you can find a lot more where he has a different name.

so what does chaos want now that percy’s his champion? well, if i recall correctly, he either wants to make an army with percy as head commander or he already has an army and wants percy as head commander.

the best part? chaos wants some elite soldiers/commanders and lets percy choose anyone to join!

that’s right! YOU get a revive! YOU get a revive! EVERYONE GETS A REVIVE! luke, silena, beckendorf, zoe, bianca, they all come back, become immortal, and join the army!

there’s usually a giant timeskip at this point, whether in real years or in space years that translate to a couple of real years.

now is where it gets interesting. you see, there are forces arising to try and take over earth! some of the times its tartarus or gaia rising, sometimes its both at once. other times it’s chaos’ brother!

so they have go do that. percy’s not the most thrilled about it because of all the betrayal and what not but does it anyway.

camp is still kicking. the previous child of poseidon has usually been turned into an immortal as well at this point, but since percy’s under chaos now, he’s strong as fuck so he still solos.

chaos’ army don’t reveal who they are yet, and i’m pretty sure this point they just spend the time before the enemy attacks training camp and dissing annabeth and the child of poseidon.

i’m not gonna get into the specifics of the big battle, mainly because it varies so much but also that this post is so fucking long already, so i’m skipping to the end.

yay, the camp wins!!! at this point they all reveal themselves to the camp, making everyone very surprised. sometimes percy and annabeth make up, sometimes they don’t, it’s just a matter of who’s writing.
