THUNDERCLAP

Dust settled in the dark factory revealed by reflection off the bright moonlight let in by the busted glass windows above. Leaf’s boots crushed fallen twigs and leaves, the debris of years of squatters and decay. In the old work rooms she found him and it was obviously him, but her teeth dragged into her lip. Uncertain of her conclusion.

“The entire greater Saffron area is without power,” she began. “You wouldn’t know about that?”

          “ !!!  ”

     She couldn’t help but to whine a little when he pulled the bowl away from her. First he wanted her to eat, then he took it back? A strange enigma, he was. Though when he commanded her to get up, she froze in place and looked up at him with slightly worried hue of a dull-red. So she had to get up now? Oh dear. That posed a terribly large problem. She couldn’t. Not without crying out from pain – and she was a quiet girl, there would be no such noises from her whenever possible. Especially when she knew she was going to scream. 

          “Must I… g-get up now? Can I… ask to stay a little longer?”

               “ ...I mean. I guess? “ As the legendary spoke, his expression was as dumbfounded as his voice. Humans were strange, wanting to stay in the nest for longer then necessary... In the end, Rai was shoving the bowl back in her hands and taking a seat on the edge of the tub. The box of Honey Combee’s officially finished off as he swallowed back the final mouthful and tossed the box in a nearby corner. With that, Rai was slinking off to start digging through a few boxes of parts as he started to what he wanted to take out and what was staying in it. What came out tended to get flung around, landing in all sorts of obscene spots.

    “ME - SPRIT !! PRIT!! IT’S MESPRIT!” She’s going to take a bit to embrace her new nickname.

     She puts the book down from the sky, still holding it in her hand. She takes a deep breath.

   Pause. Pause. Pause. Pause.  Pause.

     Break.

                 “SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWK!!!”

             “ Nah. Me Spit. “ That’s right. Embrace it. Embrace the nickname that he’s given you. Because if you don’t embrace it, he’s going to just come up with a worse one. 

             Now, as she’s preparing, he’s pulling out his phone camera and recording her. If she fails again, he wants to be able to make her listen to herself this time. ...
