Honestly fuck the founders if for no other reason than the fact that they abandoned 100 newborns to fend for themselves with absolutely no information about who or even what they were. They just yeeted actual babies into space with nothing but a "good luck" and expected them to do thier exploring for them. They didn't send even one fucking chaperone to make sure they would be okay. They were condemned to a life as lab experiments and side-show attractions with no ties to their own people. The founders knew perfectly well that theirs was an extremely social race, and that the ability to link with other changelings was a necessity for their mental and emotional health. They literally conscripted 100 infants to be astronauts without their consent and ejected them into the cosmos, condemning them to centuries of being lonely, misunderstood, touch-starved, alienated outcasts.
