RODNEY MULLEN WITH MINOR THREAT IN THE BACKGROUND
We - and by we, I mean, white feminists - need to talk about how Dylann Storm Roof, the Charleston terrorist, used white female purity to justify murdering black people.Â
âI have to do it,â he said. âYou rape our women.âÂ
This myth - that black men rape and assault white women - has been used to justify the murder of black people for centuries. It was used to justify lynchings. It was used to justify slavery. It is still used today. Â
And white feminists absolutely NEED TO REPUDIATE this myth, because white womenâs tacit approval - and sometimes vocal agreement - with this myth is part of what allows this terrorism to happen.Â
People like Dylann Storm believe white women need to be protected from black men.Â
We donât.Â
I stand in solidarity with the black community, not with people like Dylann Storm. He does not speak for me.Â
(100% inspired LaKeyma Pennyamonâs facebook post asking why white women havenât already done this. Thank you.)Â

I just never bothered to get dressed after having sex this morning. My partner goes to his office at the university but mine is just across the upstairs landing so instead of a commute i watch like half an ep of OITNB while my old laptop fan whirs against the bed. Breakfast in the houserobe, emails in the houserobe, drinking a cup of green tea which I drink now instead of coffee as a larger garnering of a hospitable womb--also in the house robe. Between that, a sudden weight loss that makes my stomach skin hang down over where my pubic hair starts, and spending most of my time in a home office that is rarely blessed with light, itâs hard to know what to feel or think about this skin sack iâm carrying around.
âTransracialâ is a real word, but it was stolen from transracial adoptees. That is, People of Color who were adopted made this term to describe their struggles of being raised by white people who couldnât understand their unique challengesâŚand then some incredibly insecure, narcissistic white people appropriated the term for their own use.Â
idc if someone changes their pronouns twenty times. they are finding themselves and you need to fucking respect that and get over yourself
Same with names. Donât refuse to call someone by their preferred name because theyâre changing it often. Theyâre finding what they like and what theyâre comfortable with. Donât be an asshole.
Members of a U.N. peacekeeping mission engaged in âtransactional sexâ with more than 225 Haitian women who said they needed to do so to obtain things like food and medication, a sign that sexual exploitation remains significantly underreported in such missions, according to a new report obtained by The Associated Press.
Another reason the U.N. sucks

me: (is lonely)
me: (doesnt know how to reach out to friends without coming off as needy)
Like really
even if you donât understand cultural appropriation or even agree with my frustration of how (how, not that fact that) AAVE makes its way to mainstream culture
donât you think itâs a little fucked up to only use AAVE when you want to sound aggressive, tough, wild, or overtly sexual?
you donât think itâs a little fucked up that you only use AAVE and your weird terrible âghettoâ accent when
youâre threatening to fight someone
youâre referring to how intoxicated youâre about to get
youâre trying to convey that youâre sexually available?
like wow maybe thereâs something fucked up about the way you think of black people if you only try to talk like them in those situations.
or whatever donât think about it you sound really cool and edgy âyaaas lowkey thottie on fleekâ or whatever.
I asked a young White woman why she was studying social anthropology. She replied that she was hoping to go to Zimbabwe, and felt that she could help women there by advising them how to organize. The Black women in the audience gasped in astonishment. Here was someone scarcely past girlhood, who had just started university and had never fought a war in her life. She was planning to go to Africa to teach female veterans of a liberation struggle how to organize! This is the kind of arrogant, if not absurd attitude we encounter repeatedly. It makes one think: Better the distant armchair anthropologists than these âsistersâ.

Things that qualify as âteenage mistakesâ:
- turning the tub purple while dyeing your hair with Kool-Aid
- using colored pencils as eyeliner
- falling asleep without putting out your incense and almost setting your desk on fire.
- losing your brand new shoes during the class pool party
Things that do not qualify as âteenage mistakesâ:
- molesting five girls

1999 was a fucking weird year.
this plus slim shady lp (oops sorry society my bad) and so many touring ska bands.
do men have resting bitch faces as well or do they not have negative characteristics ascribed to them for putting on a neutral rather than a deliriously happy facial expression
Yes, Black men in majority white spaces do. If I donât smile every single second of the day my coworkers become in intimidated and start asking me whatâs wrong, telling me to smile, make jokes about how Iâm trying to be a thug/act hard, why am I angry, etc. And itâs not just white men at my job God FORBID I my large Black ass makes a white girl feel threaten because Iâm sitting down with a neutral expression.
Iâm not trying to take this post away from women and make it about Black men but I want to point out that wether itâs patriarchy or white supremacy; those who feel as if they have power over you HATE to see you not smile. They are so used to people like you smiling to gain their approval that when you donât thereâs a cognitive dissonance that makes them extremely uncomfortable.
Thatâs why âangry Black womenâ is a thing. They have to put on a smile for everyone (yes even feminist white women) or we all get uncomfortable.
