just finished a week of exams 😪 we’ve got another week to go, and i’m already burnt out. but there’s only a few more exams (like 5?) and 3 of them are just the MCQ papers so the week should be less stressful than the previous.
i didn’t get much done today because i’m so tired, i barely got a wink of sleep last night. was up late cramming, & woke up early for it too. 11/10 DON’T recommend. it was a content-heavy paper too, since it was geography. should’ve studied over the past month consistently, in hindsight.
but hey, it didn’t go as badly as i expected it to so it’s fine !! i’m just looking forward to a more productive week ahead 🤗. since i’m burnt out too, i’m planning on resting for the next few hours, maybe catching up on some shows because i’m lazy like that.

woops had to cover some things with stickers! the first few weeks back can make it difficult to get back into the swing of things, but we are making it work!!!
How to feel ready for a test
No matter how much I study, I can’t help but feel like I’m not ready. Through the years I found ways to fight this feelings and I thought I might share some with you:
Self talk -Just talk it out with yourself. Did I study? Yes. Can I do anything more than that? No? Well, then there is no reason to worry.
Ask someone to ask you questions about the topic -This will help you find holes in your knowledge and talking about it helps me remember it even more.
Teach someone else -The moment you are able to teach someone, you are ready.
Take a long break (I mean entire hours) and then go through it in your head one more time -You will find the things you need to go through one more time. The rest is okay.
Definitely DON’T:
Panic when you can’t remember something -It’s okay. It usually takes time before the stuff sets in your memory
Study even tho you feel like there is nothing new -Going over it again and again will just either confuse you or make you feel lazy because there is nothing new to study so you don’t really try.
Panicking in general ain’t good
Don’t ask yourself overcomplicated questions -You’re just trying to prove yourself that you can’t do it even tho it’s not true.

Studying in my fave spot at the city library this morning, trying to understand the concepts of statistical methods… I’ve realised I’m not the best of friends with t-tests and ANOVA but hey, that’s okay! We all have our weaknesses and the best way to deal with them is by embracing them and work through it.

Geomechanics!! We’re using fluid to model ductile solids, but it turns out that you can also… model a fluid… as a ductile solid… (Featuring my sticky note to my friend about whether or not I should ask a question in lecture.) We also had to schedule extra office hours with the TA because MATLAB tried to personally murder us with knives. :) So it’s been good.

once you stop fantasizing about that ideal version of yourself and start working towards becoming that person by setting your alarm clock earlier and actually going to the gym and actually volunteering at places and actually eating healthier and not procrastinating and working just a little bit harder you’ll realize that it was so easy all along. becoming your ideal self will only ever exist in your mind until you make the decision to work towards becoming that person. get up!! get going!! it’s now or never!! there is no light at the end of the tunnel!! get that flashlight and pave your own path bitch bc no one else is going to do it for u!!

here’s a photo of my economics textbook (since i’m studying it right now for my exam tomorrow). this is the study method that i use when i only have a day to study - summarize each points or paragraphs in a sticky note, using your own words as much as possible. in addition, write important informations in another color to differentiate it from the rest.
