Luan hated grocery stores. They hated city living in general, in all honesty. Being entwined in civilisation meant he had to dress a little bit more normal, conceal his skin, everything. It drained his energy to keep the concealment spell up, the ring on his finger growing warmer the longer it stayed on. They wouldn't have ended up in the city to buy vegetables if it wasn't for those godforsaken deer eating his crops...but he never had it in his heart to chase them away.

So here they stood, standing in front of the various piles of apples, basket in the crook of their arms, trying to figure out why the hell there were so many varieties of apples. Who decided how many apples they should be allowed to cultivate? The Moon thought there were only two kinds - red and green - so what the hell is a Honeycrisp? What made the Gala so Royal? And where did this damn yellow apple come from? A slight sheen shimmered over his skin, a mixture of sweat and the threat of the concealment dropping as he mulled over choices, the basket feeling heavier by the minute as the varieties of leafy greens and starches weighed it down. At the sound of a kind voice their head turned, taking note of the rather beautiful being beside them.

Luan took a moment to listen to their words - they often tried to minimise the interactions they had with others outside of the forest, brows temporarily furrowing as they mulled it over. "Yeah, I suppose so" His voice was quiet, shifting to swap the basket to his other arm as he sighed.
