the ex super villain-super hero pair make a return! jean used to be a villain until alex sort of. convinced him to switch sides (the embarrassing reality is that alex had a crush on jean even when jean was very earnestly trying to kill him, and when jean got pinned under a car during a fight, alex asked him out while rescuing him, and jean said yes for reasons no one has figured out) then they spent six years working together in a group (that scribble to the left with the sort of motor cycle looking gear is what jean would wear because fuck costumes, he showed up to break bones)

The sun had just set as the first guests arrived at the house. Lino put himself in charge of entertainment, so he greeted each guest as they came in. They just wanted to keep it mainly family and a few friends, just a little gathering and hangout, and food would be potluck.

Reid woke up when the twins started to cry. He got up quickly, hoping to handle it so their parents could save on sleep. Lucky for him, the wee beasties just wanted some attention, and he took them out to hold on the couch. He sat and played with them quite a while, but eventually they got hungry. Reid checked the fridge for milk bottles, but he couldn’t find them in and among all the cuts of meat and baskets of berries. When they started to get particularly fussy, he gave up and decided to ask Nathan. When he didn’t find Nathan or Dax in the loft, he was quite surprised. He did not expect Nathan to just leave the twins in someone else’s care without letting them know firsthand, so he had to be around somewhere, but it wasn’t the biggest cottage and there weren’t a lot of places to hide. After doing a round, checking the porch and deck and all, Reid could only hope Kent knew where they were. Hopefully, he hadn’t disappeared either.

As expected, Akiaziri wasn’t too far along. Sydryn prescribed the medication and then allowed Kardynkyr to take their car home for the day while the doctor continued their work. Any other day, Kardynkyr wouldn’t be caught dead driving a powder pink Audi, but the occasion allowed for exceptions. The first pill Aki had taken at the doctor’s office. This one would stop the progress of the pregnancy. They took the second pill half an hour after taking some ibuprofen, only once they were comfortably set up in the guest bathroom at Syd’s. Kardynkyr stayed with them through it. It took hours so they watched K-dramas on a laptop set up on the sink. The other dragons didn’t see them for the rest of the night.

He had never been bold enough to ask for help outright, but his relationship with Diederich had started to give him some hope. After all, he had heard tell of vampires having successful births, the odds were just against them. Anything he could do to boost his odds, he wanted to find out about. “You’re sure you want to pursue this again?” Sydryn asked. “Last time was a very difficult time for you.” Nari nodded. “I know that… But, that time wasn’t planned. I feel if I can learn as much as I can, I’ll have a better chance of success. I know that you covet knowledge the same way I do. I imagine you have resources?”
