imagine you were a teacher, what would you change to help? grading criterion? requirements for your class? class expectations?

no, what you change is the material. kids in every class already have these varied in spades, and often times these changes add to the problem rather than fixing them.

changing the material is the only necessary difference for every class, and do you wanna know what you do?

focus the material on the student.

yes, you have to hit specific questions or standards, but use those as your jumping point.

if you have to teach your students how to model a ribosome undergoing meiosis, don’t force every student to have a copy and paste model. allow creativity. allow the students to teach themselves, or, if they can’t grasp it, allow the students to ask the questions that help them, don’t just tell them what’s expected.

in saying all this, no, i’m not saying it’s going to be easy. teachers try their hardest sometimes, and unfortunately in most instances they can’t do anything but just listen.

what needs to happen is an entire educational shift in, instead of teacher telling student, a chance of teacher helping student.
