They are a frickin genius and have also opened the floodgates in my mind.
Nessa: Was given a Corsola by her father when she was young, but still hasn’t been able to bond with her. Is incredibly jealous of Elphaba’s bond with her Pokemon. The Corsola turns into its Alolan form when Nessa becomes the Wicked Witch of the East.
Boq: Has a Magikarp and a Phantump. He tried really hard to get them to evolve during his Shiz years to impress Glinda, to no avail. His Pokemon stick with him after his transformation and journey down the road. They eventually evolve during “March of the Witch Hunters”, making him seem a lot more intimidating.

(I just really like the idea of Boq having cutesy/useless-looking Pokemon that evolve into fricking powerhouses.)
Fiyero: Found an Oricorio (Baile form) when was young and is very attached to her. Evolved his Tyrogue into Hitmontop before going to Shiz. Rides around on a Galarian Rapidash.
(Because of course Fiyero has Dancing Pokemon)
After Fiyero’s scarecrow transformation, he pretends to not recognize his Pokemon.
(This was a lot longer than I intended)
• Imagine “Dancing Through Life” but with Pokemon.
• Fiyero is definitely the type to name all of his Pokemon, so he’s infinitely more attached to them. The Oricorio is “Cha-Cha”, the Hitmontop is “Mr. Fight Guy”, and the Rapidash is “Feldspur”.
• Instead of a regular lion cub, Fiyero and Elphaba break a Litleo out of an evil Pokeball.
• Espurr becomes really attached to Fiyero after they save the Litleo. Glinda doesn’t notice, but Fiyero and Elphaba do.
• The Swablu/Murkrow duo adopts Oricorio into their bird group.
• Elphaba takes the Corsola when she visits Nessa in Part 2. She can’t change it back, much to her despair, but she is able to evolve it.
• Elphaba’s Murkrow and Glinda’s Swablu evolve at the same time, to neither of their knowledge.
• Glinda cries into Altaria’s cloud feathers a lot.
• Espurr evolves during “As Long As You’re Mine”. There were a lot of emotions.
• The catfight in the cornfield still happens, but it de-escalated quickly because they realized that none of their Pokemon would fight each other.
• Imagine Fiyero bowling his Hitmontop into the crowd to break up the fight.
• Fiyero’s Oricorio stays with him during his transformation, and flies overhead when he goes down the road.
• The Litleo, now cowardly Pyroar, is traumatized because of its time in the Pokeball.
• Glinda adopts all of Fiyero’s and Elphaba’s Pokemon when they fake their deaths. Espurr and Oricorio both know they’re still alive.
Because I know I have a lot of young people following me, and because over the past few years, I've seen a shocking amount of anti-gay rhetoric in MY comment section. Of my Steven Universe fancomic. An extremely lgbtq-friendly show.
So what gives? My best guess is, I have a very wide following, and a lot of these readers and pretty socially insulated in conservative spaces that don't allow them to explore the concepts of the other side of the argument.
I'm not about to judge children on the environment they were raised in... but I'm also here. I'm a part of the environment. And I'd like to offer some perspectives.
