HEY. HEY LISTEN. TUMBLR IS DOING AGE VERIFICATION.
We don't know if this has been rolled out globally or not, but IT'S HAPPENING.
As I was doing my usual tumblr doings I saw an age-restricted blog. Pixelated pfp, put in there by tumblr, but the thing is, I HAVE the options enabled to see mature stuff since we do know tumblr likes to tag the blogs of specific groups as mature as a censorship tactic (namely transfems have it bad with this site's moderation from what I've heard)
So I go into settings, and I am met WITH THIS.
AND upon clicking verify my age, they ask you for the same bullshit every other age verification thing on other places asks of you . A selfie or your ID.
DO NOT VERIFY YOUR AGE. IT IS UNDOUBTEDLY A SAFETY RISK AND CHANCES ARE YOU'LL BE CLASSIFIED AS THE WRONG AGE.
WHERE'S THE UPROAR????????? Perhaps I'm early, perhaps not, I just felt the need to call this out because WHAT THE FUCK. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS. DO NOT LET TUMBLR GET AWAY WITH THIS
