After all when everyone had their eyes on the Ark's "Star" it was a little hard to hide away no matter where one went. At least Rapi felt she had the benefit of the doubt being part of the other more "military" crowd. But even then...surely she had some of her own fans.

"Oh, that was you singing when that was happening? I would've sworn you put on some music before you got in the few times you actually were folding anything." Maybe that was a little bit more on the nose then she wanted.
"Still if that's what I should go off of it wasn't bad. Not that I was outside listening or anything but what I did get was pretty catchy."

⠀It's weird— at one time, being recognized seemed like a natural step towards getting the kind of love she wanted. Then the thought of anyone knowing her off the street was enough to make her sick to her stomach... and now? Now it's just a part of everyday life— maybe not here, but certainly in the Ark. Any time she's not on the Surface, she can see stars everywhere she looks... and she can see the way those stars light up at the sight of her. It's gratifying... and a little weighty. But, hey— she can always count on Rapi to keep her down to earth with as little tact as possible.

POKING AROUND SOME OF THE VENUES, his trip to golden ward has proven fairly beneficial, at least as he sees it. shops litter the streets in a fairly similar fashion to the strip malls that earth possesses, making it a strangely comforting feeling, if not a little uncanny. understanding every single person here, both human-looking and alienesque alike, was something he would have to adjust with, but at least he could fall back to a sense of familiarity.
when fingers touch on the familiar fabric of a cardigan, he pulls it out to look at it, only for a pair of lacey underwear that was stashed there by some other customer for... whatever reason. glancing down as it falls on his foot, he looks up and notes a woman who just happened to look his way. oh, alright then. this is really happening... the thought comes to him, all before he leaps to immediately defend himself.

okay i have a loooot of upkeep and revamping to do now that the TT STAR event is coming to a close and her arc is mostly concluded, so for now i think i'll be letting go of any threads prior to march just to stay consistent ! expect a starter call and hopefully a relationship perma ad once i'm fully updated.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Hm— I'd say I was joking... But that would only be half-true." She grabs her pencil again, but now the eraser end taps along the blueprint with a thoughtful hum in her throat. She really doesn't want to deviate time away from her personal project... But then again, it isn't really a pressing project at the moment. She keeps glancing back and forth between the blueprint and Anis, and eventually she gives a defeated sigh.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"On a technical level, you're asking for a lot. Big spotlights that don't generate too much heat, or draw too much power? Definitely a big ask... ... But, it does matter to you a lot, right?"
⠀⠀⠀⠀“Uhhh...” Should she mention that this is all because of some maybe-ghosts-maybe-not-ghosts? Anis isn't sure where Snow stands on the whole spirit thing... Honestly, she practically lives under a rock (the workshop), so it wouldn't surprise her if she didn't even know there was weird shit happening on campus. Best to play it safe for now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀“Yeah, you could say that. I basically need this in order to get any rehearsals done without any weird interruptions. But I figured if anyone could fill a tall order, it's definitely you!” She tacks on for good measure, hoping her smile and thumbs-up will seal the deal.
"For a place that drags a lot of people here I think I've only met a handful of idols. Or maybe they weren't trying to be that noticeable in public..." It was possible given the sheer volume of people in Spirale. But then again Rapi was sure she would've heard at least one or two loud blaring areas and gone to investigate. But that number was currently zilch.
At least for now. Things could always change after all...
"...Come to think about it I don't think I've ever heard you sing even once. Not even a little slip up when no one else was paying attention. How'd you manage to do that before you decided to return?"

⠀Anis pops open a soda with a satisfying pbsst, shaking her head with an amused half-smile despite her smartass retort. “I've seen a couple of concerts while I've been here. Pretty good, too— buuut when it comes to idols in the mainstream... Yeah, I really can't tell. I haven't looked at the charts in years, even back in the Ark. … As for my singing, well...”
⠀Honestly? It was too painful.
⠀Deep down, despite all the time that passed, there was always this lingering fear of recognition— and even if her face wasn't a dead giveaway to most people, she always worried her voice would be a different story. Pretty self-centered, isn't it? Thinking her voice would stand out in a sea of wannabe popstars...
⠀⠀⠀⠀“Youuuu might have caught me when I was doing laundry or something. But how often am I actually doing laundry?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀… Snow White keeps her focus on the blueprint-in-progress on her desk, but that pencil very clearly started to slow down as the request fully sinks in. Her expression remains hard to read, but she finally makes a soft sound of acknowledgement before putting the pencil down. Now she’s shifting her chair over to the adjacent work desk, opening a drawer… and pulling out a specific, basic item that’s then tossed over to Anis. “You’re asking for a flashlight, Anis. With a battery, or two. … A lot more if you want a stage illuminated.”
⠀A thick, albeit brief, silence follows as she gapes at Snow White... Looks down at the flashlight as if it's personally offended her... looks back up at Snow White—
⠀⠀⠀⠀“Wh— uhhh, no ! If that was good enough, I'd just use my phone and call it a day ! It's gotta be a stage light specifically, or it won't work. I think it's something about the heat, but... I dunno.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀“Waiiit, so... If a utopia is a cautionary tale, doesn't that mean it's the dystopia all along ? If society gets all screwy trying to become perfect, the perfection's the problem, isn't it ? has most definitely seen what's probably ghosts during after-hours practice but has most definitely decided it's a giant hoax
having said that...... 50 dust and a soda for backstage access after midnight
is what we call a "social floater" & will hang out with just about anyone as long as they don't make it weird
has a vested interest in finding out who the killer(s) may be as someone who has a pulse and stays out past curfew
now that i can update my canon point to the new story update, no time like the present to make a new starter call ! will probably be short and sweet(?) !

Maybe this is a sign she needs more food. Another clean plate for Anis— swiftly being piled with meat, seeing as the Pilgrim could easily clear it out on her own if she wanted.
"If there was more opportunities to wear dresses I wouldn't be opposed to it. However it's not like we have that luxury at home." And even here it felt a bit strange compared to how little time they had to go to parties like this.
"...Of course I didn't." There was someone she did want to ask but it was a message left unset. "I...just wanted to see what this was like is all. I knew you would be here regardless. So it wasn't like I was going to be without any company."
⠀ “Hmm... Sure, that's true back home. But we're not home, are we ?” Anis uses her elbow to deliver a gentle nudge to Rapi's side. Truth be told... this place scares the hell out of her. As a mere concept, it's frightening— if she thinks about it too long, she'll wonder what even qualifies as 'reality'. What good does that do for anybody, though ? All it does is run the risk of a Mind Switch.
⠀ “I'm choosing to treat this as being on the receiving end of that annoying Gatekeeper phenomenon. So by that logic, we have to bide our time until opportunity knocks, yeah ? I'll hunt down more dress-up opportunities for us in the meantime. … Sooo, was it just me you were hoping to have as company ? Don't think I didn't notice you hesitated earlier.”
