Claus wasn't sure what he thought of this shop...he'd never seen anything like it.
Idly he wandered about the store, eyes flicking over all the different colorful decorations on both the walls and the items for sale. Shelves filled with different kinds of books, boxes with strange images and diagrams, and all kinds of odd knick knacks in little towers here or there. There were even plush toys with strange shapes and even weirder names, boasting about being Big Cells! ...whatever that even meant.
Initially he had walked in because of a book he had seen in the window, but now he couldn't help but wander about the store to see what else was here.
Most of the boxes seemed like...toys? Kits? At least some of them sounded like it with names like 'Grow your own Crystals' or 'Light Up Air Rockets' or 'moon display kit'. He wasn't really sure what the purpose of those were. The books made a bit more sense to him than the items in the boxes. They seemed informative. He'd even spotted a couple with covers mentioning marine animals or agriculture. Though, he did turn away when he noticed a book on robotics.
After what felt like a life time of wandering he found the book he had been searching for. Unfortunately for him, the book was on the top shelf. A shelf higher up than Claus was tall with the desired book pushed to the back.
"Great..."
He grumbled to himself. First, he tried leaning up on his tip toes, fingers juuuuust barely brushing against the cover of the book. He tried again, and again, even hopping to try and reach, but no matter how far he tried he couldn't actually get a proper hold of the book.
Frustrated, he glared at the book and attempted to reach out in another way. Briefly, the book was engulfed in a soft glowing energy, small hexagonal particles floating about the book. They glowed in hues of soft blues, yellows, and reds. The book wiggled, but still didn't budge.
Upon noticing the lack of movement, the lightshow stopped and the boy took a step or two back from the shelf.
Claus was really starting to be annoyed by the restraints placed on his abilities.
Y'know what? Caution thrown to the wind, Claus began to climb the shelves. It wouldn't be that far! Just one step or two! He'd grab the book and immediately hop down! He was already at least a bit closer now that he was climbing up the bookshelf, he was actually getting close to grabbing the book now!
"C'monnnn...."
He reached, doing all he could to keep his balance and not cause the shelf to wobble too much from his weight.
This sure was a lot of work for a book on plants and flowers.
