okay someone brought it up and made me realize that im *not* insane or overly obsessed for having this small nitpick so here it is:
prototype needs to be more plot relevant.
hear me out. prototype is a walking database. yes, there's limits to it, he mentions that himself in a line of dialogue with Folly.
but oh my god are you seriously telling me the people (DrRetro, Bive, Pest, Melanie to some extent?) that are trying to hunt down Folly haven't asked him about it once? And none of the cult members mention anything about it?
Bive is convinced they're a spy bot. She mentions it in every bit of dialogue she has with them. Proto mentions that she was artifically made, and how the hell would he know that if he didn't work in the lab she was made in?
DrRetro has silly dialogue with them, the closest she ever got to asking him about the cult was where Proto assumed MR could be cured with the power of friendship. Not a single question where he got that idea from. (yes it's very obvious he's just being a silly, clueless guy but let me make more lore than "oh.. um... they're from a factory... that was destroyed a few hundred years ago... and he's half-made...") and all DrRetro did was say "hey you shouldn't feel sympathy for that person, they're bad"
He can't understand FleshCousin but mentions that he researched their species.
Folly, being the "ooh im so evil" NPC she is, simply tries to break them down mentally and get them to panic about how their factory was destroyed and that they have no meaning in life. But wait, how does she know that? *cue the vsauce music (im going insane over this)*
Proto does mention that they dont know what they're made for, but rarely mentions the fact their home was destroyed.
woah, folly lore literally nobody has really touched on because it's probably the most basic info and im getting a little too worked up over the fact my favorite npc isnt getting any spotlight.
and um i could mention the fact that he somehow knows Folly is a primordial beast but maybe his scanners are goated or something..
Prototype also noticed that Melanie's DNA is all mixed up from being revived. And she.. Doesn't notice? Just doesn't care that he mentioned something unnerving? If you get revived, you would be more concerned if someone figured out you aren't really yourself anymore.
but nope, just a nervous "Okay..!" and absolutely no more dialogue between them mentions this. just silly banter.
Pest finds them annoying for being so curious and trying to make small talk. (i feel like they're horribly butchering pest because yeucc said pest has ASPD and somehow that was never worked on. never mentioned once. you have to dig through random trivia to even know this. i never knew it and thought pest was just a bitch.) (actually i might make another confession about this, yeucc said pest is evil 20 days later.)
and uh.. it's either that the fandom wiki is outdated or there's no dialogue between Proto and Null. which is, very infuriating because im scrambling for any lore other than them being silly and informitive.
and okay i get it you might need a silly and clueless NPC to balance out how Poob is silly but traumatized but oh my god can they do anything else with Prototype's dialogue other than "oh they know this and uh they're very silly"
i get it that it's hard but what if Prototype genuinenly got curious about the cult because of DrRetro telling them to stay away? She didn't give much reason other than "oh MR is stalking a few people and you should feel no sympathy!!!"
like come on you're telling me a silly and curious robot wouldn't try to dig a little deeper on why DrRetro said that?
man i dont know what im doing i just want more prototype lore that's a little more cohesive. maybe this'll branch into something else... idk...
