“We’re crazy, aren’t we? This isn’t normal,” Iwaizumi mumbled into his hands.

“I dunno, Iwa-chan, I’m not some relationship expert,” Oikawa groaned, irritated.

“You think they’ve thought about it too?”

“Sometimes I think so… I guess there’s only one way to find out.”

“Where do we even go with that if they say yes?” Iwaizumi dragged his fingers through his hair.

Oikawa twiddled his fingers together, his eyes wide, cheeks red. “I suppose… we just see what happens?”

Close enough, Oikawa smiles, sputtering a laugh as he imagines the way Iwaizumi’s face screws up. “It’s only normal that distance makes people grow apart, Iwa-chan.” “And absence makes the heart grow fonder, or…something like that.” Oikawa’s resistance folds like paper, his head turning to look at Iwaizumi, whose eyes are still trained on the ceiling. “You never answered my question.” “Because it’s a stupid question,” Iwaizumi slides his eyes shut, “you’ve been asking a lot of those recently.” “So mean, Iwa-chan,” Oikawa responds with no weight, reaching to lace their fingers together, “why can’t you just tell me you’ll miss me?” It takes Iwaizumi a moment to respond to that one. “What would it change, if I did?”

This feels crazy surreal unreal WHOA so happy to see u again I almost didn't believe my eyes when I saw the email notification!!!! Saw in your notes that you had more stuff planned (so excited whoa! but of course no pressure) I'm still processing that you're back crazy crazy (I'm a huge huge fan of Always, My Pillar of Strength, that fic ripped my heart out and ate it for breakfast 🥰)

“Iwa-chan?” Oikawa blinked, pulling his face into his hands and smiling his signature, lopsided grin, the one Iwaizumi wanted to kiss him through, pull moans out of, wrap around his length and suck his soul into.

Iwaizumi leapt from the bench and roughly dropped Oikawa to the ground, a hurried apology tossed over his shoulder as he sprinted back to his dorm. He dove into a cold shower until his nerves settled before climbing into bed, ignoring his phone blowing up by Oikawa and responding to Hanamaki that he was fine, that he just needed some time to think.

About that ass tho wwwww, Hanamaki replied.

I hope you die, Iwaizumi sent, and turned his phone off.

That was the first night Iwaizumi touched himself to the thought of Oikawa.
