People are obsessed with it. They are finding out new facts about their favourite athletes in an incredibly unhinged way, because there is no way this sounds normal with Troy and Shane as hosts. It's probably completely serious one moment and full of giggles the next, because somethong happens that is literally only funny to them.
They do make sure to not drive Harris completely mad with their weird statements.

That is, until one afternoon, after leaving his family's house for good, Jeremy is watching Jean paint Laila's nails. A lot has changed since the last time he witnessed this little routine of theirs. He knows he can hold Jean's hand anytime now without any real reason or excuse, just for the sake of holding his boyfriend's hand. Logically, he also knows that he no longer has to please his family, that he can express himself in any way he wants.
But knowing is different from truly understanding, so when Jean turns to Jeremy, offering to do his nails like Cat offered to Jean all those months ago, Jeremy's first instinct is to refuse. He's ready to start explaining why he can't when his brain catches up to him, and he sort of just freezes. It's one of the first times since leaving that a realization that struck him wasn't depressing.
He's free. As scary, painful, and devastating as that fact is, it's also dizzying. And it must be obvious that Jeremy is grappling with his newfound autonomy, because Jean waits patiently. Supports his boyfriend silently with something that would probably seem small and unimportant to others. But if there's anyone in the world who understands what a huge leap Jeremy is about to make in his healing, it's Jean.
Because being afraid to paint your nails might seem silly. But when you grew up being punished for who you are, punished for being in some way different than everyone else, when you grew up learning how to hide, embracing that difference feels like an open invitation for more hurt, more judgment.
But Jeremy made it out. Maybe for the first time ever, he is free, safe, and loved unconditionally. So paradoxically, when he answers, it's both one of the easiest and hardest things he's ever done.
