troy having to deal with his breakup fully alone is such a sad yet relatable experience. he was so deeply in the closet that even in love and heartbreak he was alone. when he sees harris he is stunned to see someone in the hockey space so openly gay. of course scott hunter had came out, but he saw with his own eyes harris not only be accepted but respected. troy’s internalized homophobia was such a core part of him. hiding an entire part of his life clearly tore him. harris was a wake up call, not only for his love life, but for his self acceptance. harris showed troy that he could love his queerness.
I have a grudge against carrot juice. It´s got nothing to do about taste, ive never tried it. It's just that the existence of carrot juice feels inherently wrong.

Why did teachers always call attention to the new kid and make them introduce themselves without getting them to learn things about their new classmates as well? It was something Troy had wondered throughout his school years, and it was no less baffling to him now that he was experiencing it for what was hopefully the final time.
“Hey! I'm Harris,” his seat partner introduced himself, sticking out his hand. “Welcome to Ottawa. Lived here my whole life, so if you ever need any help with anything or want to know something, just ask.”

And thus continues my yearly tradition of making jury-rigged ice cider (year 2). This time, I used Fuji apples (maybe a mistake, it smells less good now) but made sure to stop juicing before the ice crystals melted, so it has a much darker color.
