Argumentative, antithetical dream girl

Everything in me wants to reach out to you for comfort. Everything in me thinks the weight of your arms around me will end the pain I feel.

People tell me we’ll still be friends. That at least I still have you. But I don’t. Not the way I used to have you. And you don’t have me anymore either. Eventually we’ll just be two people, bumping into each other outside a cinema somewhere, saying you look great, so do you, and how’ve you been, yeah, can’t complain. After all that, after everything we’ve been through, we’ll be a couple of strangers who used to know each other.
