It was just supposed to be an experiment.

Shockwave wanted to test fusing spark fragments from a gestalt into forming one whole spark, to be inserted into a ready made frame like cold construction. With some carefully timed manipulation he had even managed to coerce the less than willing Constructicons into participating.

It was an experiment the Constructicons were supposed to wash their servos of completely, after helping Shockwave get the newspark up to speed as a Decepticon. No different than any other newspark that had been constructed cold. They weren’t supposed to get attached to it like it was a sparkling.

Whirlpool loves to learn about space and the planets and whether or not they could use their outlier ability to stir a galaxy like the greatest and biggest bowl of soup! Silly sparkling dreams like that ^^ They're very smart! Mixmaster indulges their curious mind by teaching them whatever they want and Prowl makes sure they don't get up to anything too dangerous.

starting w/ scrapper....

this is lowkey one of my favorite things ever that gets touched on exactly like twice in the og g1 cartoon (optimus getting turned into a gator in city of steel, the autobot throne in triple takeover). what a fucking metal thing to do - i genuinely love it and it makes scrapper just a bit more unhinged to me.

his shovel has to be stiff as fuck and has some super-heating property to it to be able to do that. the yield strength of a 12-inch carbon-steel plate is approximately 250 MPa. in order to do this in an actual application, you would lowkey not even be able to do it with something like a grinder or cutter. plasma or waterjet can work though.....

also i really enjoy the mention that he has actual levitation abilities? which i think makes the split scoop kibble very cute because like..... wat if he split his kibble to be able to do that...... his wingies..... my angle.....

girl. how did you find this out. did he snap his shovel in half one day and was like "uhhhhh guys." cuz im assuming this is a ductile -> brittle fracture cuz that's typically how it goes before it becomes an issue. scrapper not allowed to use his shovel or his wingies cuz he snapped that shit in half </3

first time i personally have seen one of the alloys on a mech be named! even more interesting that it's a steel that typically isn't used on bulldozers, but i guess it would make sense if his stupid ass (/aff) is getting buried under a lot of material because the addition of titanium to steel makes it stiffer and easier to withstand loads.... very tough.....

lowkey his whole dreamwave bio is incredibly interesting. his marvel bio leans towards his outlooks and motivations being more for like, the love of the game for the most part. he enjoys destruction because it's fun for him, and it's fun for him to do it to show off to his fellow structies. there is no mention of discrimination between strong and weak - he treats everything as something that will eventually fall by his hand. meanwhile, his dreamwave bio shifts that to have his outlook and motivations be pushed by, as the text literally says, a survival of the fittest mentality and a belief in strength trumping all. i also enjoy that bonecrusher, in both of his bios, is considered terrifying lmao.

still gonna go hard on my chemical engineer mixmaster hc because bro is just combining both chemist work (lab work) with chemical engineering (in-production/large scale work). also very curious as to why it's only acids and bonding agents that he can handle, as alkalis are typically not that big of a deal in comparison to acids (assuming he has a steel mixing drum). hell, if he has a plastic drum, then that's even better because high density polyethylene (HDPE) can withstand both acids and alkalis really well, ALONGSIDE bonding agents (assuming we are talking about epoxies and such).

lowkirkenuinely no idea what the fuck they mean by this. alkalide? did someone mean to say alkaline? alkali? alkaloid? i only wonder this because alkalides were Not A Thing until like 1974 at the earliest, and they also aren't like. anything crazy? they're simply unstable compounds that disintegrate if exposed to a higher temperature or another chemical that can break the bond. who know. i just think it's interesting.

long haul in general is so interesting to me. someone who knows and understands that the position he is in benefits the greater good but can't help but long for something more regardless. he seems like a very quiet and introspective fella to me.

i fully understand and sympathize with him in regards to being unhappy with your job and it making you feel like shit. even giant alien robots are not immune to work-induced depression. however. extremely fucking funny that he can be rage-baited easily. love love love love love him.

now i LOVE seeing stuff like this in bios..... making an attitude towards another character a core part of them..... with the caveat that bonecrusher is brought to the front-lines at times.... also the idolization is very, very interesting to me..... can't brain good about that rn but i would like to think about that later.

this is so cool!!!!! i never got to do it myself because my college didn't have the facilities, but this is pretty much just ultrasonic testing! it isn't as in-depth as something like some of the chemistry techniques i've heard of, but this kinda rolls into my funny headcanons that some of the structies have specialized equipment/mods that help them with their jobs. whagever!

THIS IS REALLY COOL!!!!! THIS IS SO NEAT!!!!!! as i've said before, huge huge huge fan of when people actually treat the combiner as their own separate being because, like, that's what they are! but i think that it's even cooler when done w the caveat of being influenced by their parts. they've always given me the vibes of (primus forgive me for this) steven universe fusions, but with the ability to either drown out their components or have them be a bit more present, or hell, even shift who's most present amongst the group if the combiner themselves lets it happen.

so, i think its neat that devvy's train of thought is dictated by 6 conductors who, theoretically, should get along pretty well and be united in a common goal. but like, they aren't. or rather, i feel like their motivations and such get in the way of leading to a conclusive thought and so devvy is just like "ehhhh fuck it" and does the thing with little reasoning and/or forethought.
